I wonder what it will take to get him sacked? Maybe he's on 100,000 p/w or something stupid and we can't afford the compo. That's the only reason I can think of. No idea.

The makeup of the squad is poor, I'll give you that. There are good players in the side, but the makeup is wrong so it's near on impossible to form a cohesive unit. This is the reason we’ve had two managers who keep chopping and changing the side. We have too many of the same types all over the pitch, especially in midfield. All our midfielders know how to do is retain the ball sideways and backwards. We've got a very talented player in Boufal and equally Tadic who are not going to excel in a side which has no power or strength down the spine. I have no idea what he was meant to do when he came on yesterday, he was so deep it was ridiculous. We've basically lost a spine of Pelle/Lambert, Morgan/Wanyama, Fonte/VVD/Toby and replaced them with quite ‘slight’ talented technical footballers. Not particularly strong, not nasty in nature. Just nice. Not going to get anywhere with that as your makeup, no matter how talented certain individuals are. Congratulations to the recruitment team is in order I think.

This is the thing, we have the manager, the players and probably the club behind the scenes with this attitude. ''Oh well, we've still got plenty of time left. Everything can change in a few weeks!" - yeah, it can, if you don't have the same person making the same ****ing mistakes every.flaming.week. If he mentions that we're 'growing' one more time I will scream.
-
Is he on our board?
-
Let's not forget this gem. ''“I believe as a group we probably have a choice from the best pool of midfield options in the Premier League.”''
-
This is the problem we have though. Long is the only player we have with pace, that's it. So for that reason he kinda has to play, as we haven't addressed that glaring gap in the squad.
-
We've played Palace, Swansea, Burnley, Huddersfield, Brighton, Newcastle, Watford at home. Haven't won any of them. Alarm bells are ringing pretty loud for me. The games we should have, on paper, got the points from have gone. At least we're better away from home. Oh wait.
-
Sorry, I meant the club are still thinking it's not 'their' fault, confused and are walking around wondering why people are slapping us. Oblivious to what's going on.
-
It's not our fault though, it's the people who are slapping us. They're to blame.
-
I wonder if we'll still get to single digits. Go Soccer.
-
He's just spent the last of the credit he had built up. Absolute shambles. Turned us into one of the most irritating, stuck up, pompous clubs in England.
-
I also remember the pompous crap Les spouted about Leicester copying our model, and how the fact they were in a 'battle' the following season isn't something we'd do. Oh and also how we'd ''not expect to lose a player to Everton, let alone a manager'' Absolute pompous, stuck up, arrogant football club. Like an annoying stuck up snob who needs a slap.
-
At least they have the transfer agreed in principle for the summer though, or something.
-
The sad thing is that a lot of clubs would look at our players and go ''I'd have him', and him, and him'' and they'd be decent players in a team which is tactically setup correctly with a competent manager. So come next year the PL will continue to be littered with 'former southampton players' whilst we are no where to be seen. At least we'd have pocketed the cash though. That's why watching us, and the bench today, is just sad.
-
Bit harsh to read much into his game at the moment. The problem is we've got no players to complement him, he needs pace in and around. We don't have any pace, thus he will look ineffective.
-
Not sure what the point is. He really should have gone after Leicester, or Spurs, or Palace. Take your ****ing pick. Now we've lost an entire january window and all we've done is sign one of the managers picks. The squad is horrifically unballanced in attack, needed sorting, hasn't been sorted. A new manager may make us a bit more competitive, but we're ****ed.
-
What an absolute mess.
-
Seriously, come on, are the club trolling us or something? The whole club seem to be saying ''we tried!! we're not bad, we've still got lots of games!'' Come the end of the season after a defeat to Man City ''we tried, we're not bad, we've still got lots of games..oh ****" Why did he start that team? Absolutley pathetic. The first half panned out exactly as that formation would allow it to. Sideways, backwards, safe, sideways, backwards, safe. Yet we still flaming conceeded a goal. We looked better in the 2nd half as he was FORCED to make attacking changes, but why on gods name did he not start like that. The 2nd half was better, but it showed up our attacking options quite glaringly. Loads of the same type, wrong types and not enough pace. Absolute cluster **** from top to bottom.
-
He'll prob bring Yoshida on with 60 mins remaining. Time to make the trek methinks...
-
There's £50m of attacking signings on the bench!
-
That team has got contain written all over it, hope I'm wrong.
-
But then you have to ask where is the money? Are we really in a position where we can now only buy after we sell? I'd have hoped that the VVD fee (although obviously not the total headline figure) would go towards an existing pot, but maybe not..
-
Doubt it.
-
I heard Sims - but surely that was dependant on us getting a wide player, can't see that happening now. Hesketh maybe.
