  1. Don't think anyone did tbh, totally the wrong type of player. At least the club agree on that, so they have some idea. Maybe.
  2. Seeing as he played in their game in Spain aprox 1hr ago, probably not!
  3. Any move for Schurle ended when Dortmund lost their ukranian fella. They need to keep him now. Plus he was lined up for Swansea anyway, so they've now seemingly moved onto Ayew.
  4. He is. He's playing right now?
  5. Agreed, there are certain types who are clearly trolls and it's safe to ignore, but at this point in time I think it's impossible for anyone not to be slightly concerned about the long-term future here. Still not a word from Gao, no investment, no intent from him to get a deal pushed over the line and invest in this team on a footballing level. What on earth has this takeover been about?
  6. You are insufferable sometimes. If we drifted down into non-league I'm sure you'd still be snapping at the people moaning. It's not the problem with this deal in isolation, it's a number of factors. 1) - we got the deal done for VVD early, sold off our best player. PR about how we were going to reinvest. 2) - we miss out on what was clearly our number 1 target - theo. 3) - miss out on another of our primary targets - Promes. Seemingly have no alternative plans to fall back on and no intention to replace the player we sold. Last January was a disaster in how we left Fonte go and forgot to replace him, this has been an even larger **** show. The reason we are in the position we are is self-created, it's not because we've been unlucky or because clubs want too much money from little saints, it's because over a long period of time our recruitment has not been good enough and we have failed to replace the players we sold. 13 months ago we had Fonte and VVD as our CB's. We're now with Yoshida/Stephens and Hoedt. With Gardos and Bedranek as backup. That is a serious downgrade and people need to start asking wtf they expect to achieve with that model.
  7. Would they even need to tweet that, given that nothing has actually happend anyway? They can just turn the lights off, maybe at HT. Who knows.
  8. I wouldn't pay much attention to the summer deal waffle. Wouldn't expect there's anything in that, just makes it look a bit better in an initial PR sense. If there was a proper agreement for the summer, then we'd have shouted about it. But there isn't. More ********.
  9. So they got their replacement and we still won't sign him. Well done Spartak, made our excuse look lame now. Can't blame them now.
  10. We probably felt we did have someone lined up, in Theo. I think the club have dropped the bollock here by being a tad laid back.
  11. *All the time.
  12. Every transfer works like this, our transfers in will be structured like this. It's very rare that any club will pay the entire amount straight away. Even Barcelona's payments for Coutinho and Dembele are staged, it helps clubs adhere to FFP as they can put the cost against 'future' years incomes, rather than against the same financal year. So the issue that we get paid in instalements by Liverpool isn't the issue here, this is standard practice.
  13. Personally I don't think we'll end up with anyone now. Sims may have to be our answer....hopefully he's fully fit now.
  14. Agreement on a summer move, jesus christ. Just shows up the pure arogance of us, assuming we will stay up. Everything is calm and relaxed.
  15. To be honest the money we get for players is irrelevant, the club can pat themselves on the back about that for as long as they want (which they will) but if it's not reinvested into the playing side correctly then we might as well have just got 5p.
  16. And the most frustrating thing is that this is all caused by ourselves. All of this has been avoidable, being in one of the strongest positions this club has ever been in.
  17. He earned trust and some wiggle room during his tenure (we were always going to have a sticky patch at some point), but that is now evaporating incredibly quickly given that all of these situations are seemingly created by our own doing.
  18. This 'failed to sign a replacement' malarky is planted to make them look like the bad guys. The bare reality is that we have not met the fee Spartak want. Spartak have another month until their season resumes, and another 3 weeks to sign replacements. This isn't anything to do with their side, this is simply because we don't want to spend the release fee.
  19. Imagine if we sign Promes, a CB, a GK and we win tonight. 10/10?
  20. Don't go lowering the tone with your sailor slang.
  21. He's a good ball playing CB, but needs strength and power alongside him. He is bullied by powerful strikers because he lacks the strength and phyisical attributes. No one is saying he's a bad player, but the problem is we have CB's all in the same mould.
  22. There's nothing left to do other than believe.
  23. Need 6 for me, two wins are needed. Esp. with Liverpool up after that.
  24. Those were the days.
  25. Not exactly the sort we need, not even close. Good player, don't get me wrong, but not what we need. We have plenty of those types.
