It was a positive start to the window I thought, signing an attacking wide player, a number 10 type midfielder, a tall and dominant CB. A top GK prospect (assuming Forster had a suitor). All looked positive. But we needed more in attack (a bit of a refresh in attack if we're being honest), there's a glaring gap for a number 9 in this team. Anyone can see that. So, failure to address our goal scoring, which has hindered us so much over the last two seasons, has the potential to make this another utterly disastrous transfer window. Resorting to having to loan our last two record signings out (Carillo and Boufal) says it all for me. Recruitment has been absolutely shambolic for way, way too long now. I have to say that our lack of pace, lack of power, lack of strength up top will hinder us. Austin will be injured for periods, can put that in now. Long will score 1 goal, and Gabbiadini may get 5 or whatever. That's not enough, never has been enough and never will be enough. How are Bournemouth able to spend £27m on a player without selling anyone? Can anyone shed any light on that? And also, if anyone is able to shed any light on WTF our new owners add to this club, I will be very grateful! At the moment, I've never seen a more pointless takeover in my entire life. I didn't think Kat would sell us up the river, but every day that goes by it seems as if the only reason we were sold were for her benefit so she could get a quick influx of money to help her. Now we’ve been saddled with debt to a random Chinese nobody who hasn’t got the foggiest what he’s bought. This club is in a right old mess behind the scenes.

Saints vs Borussia Mönchengladbach - Match Thread

That was as worrying as the Augsburg game from last pre-season. We just weren't there, didn't offer a threat, couldn't contain them. An absolute waste of my afternoon. I actually feel sad when I see Hoedt try to play football. What on earth did we ever see in him, other than him being a complete clubmsy oaf with legs too long for his brain. Another pointless 'season ticket' benifit ticked off. Now I just have to wait for the exclusive news letter. -

I've found another provider, bosshosting - a reseller of EpicStream - give it a google. It's not free, maybe a tad more expensive than the Flawless etc, but it really is impressive. First IPTV provider such as this which provides full 4k streams un troubled. Even the standard FHD 1080p streams are the highest quality I've ever achieved on IPTV. It's about $40 for 3 months. Selection of channels is huge, around 2000 live TV channels from around the world and another 1000+ of On demand and catchup content.

At least we're not playing in Seville! -
If it's the 2nd picture you're looking at, it's Forbesy (our kitman) who has the tattoo on his leg. Saints through and through!

I wouldn't be bothered if we sold him really, pretty average player in all honestly. I'm sure we can get a much more productive player for less outlay.

Summer 2018 - Other teams Manager/transfer business

Raul Jiminez on loan from Benifca. ...and Benik Afobe, if we can count that one! -
Really enjoyed Gabbi's performance. In fact, I think he's looked pretty sharp all pre-season. I think we all know that there is a clever player in there, so hopfeully we can see a bit more of that. Armstrong looks quality, for very little outlay, he is exactly what we wanted when we signed Gaston and Boufal. Looks a really good fit for us. Really feel uncomfortable watching Hoedt though.

They were having a good window up until now. -
Cheerio

Don't be such a pansy.

Yeah, he's still struggling with injury. They've got Andres Linderguard as their third choice i think.

Our record signing being Carillo is just horrific. Worse than Rory Delap. -
WTF. Football has gone bonkers really. Is this the new norm? (as we saw already with Afobe)

Didn't Schar just have an awful season as Deporivo were relegated....? -
Hopefully there is an opening at a Circus Football team, then these sorts of keepers will have a chance of finding another local.
-
We haven't. It was just a typo in an initial article (southampton rather than Wolverhampton) which was corrected, but all the other sites seemingly didn't catch up.
-
Not the 2nd renewal. There was no approval over that. This is what people are up arms about....not the fact he got an initial deal, the unfathomable reason he got another 12 months later.
-
First extention, no real moans. 2nd extention 12 months after already signing a long-term brought a lot of total WTF's. I'd really love to hear the clubs reasoning behind that as it makes not a single jot of sense in squad or financial management.
-
Yeah, confirmed now. Back to his home club....sure he's chuffed! Maybe this now opens up a space for us to re-enter the market. (not sure it will open much space financially mind you)

Julio Cesar didn't look close to being any good at any point during his QPR stint.
-
Absolutely not, but as Turkish has put brilliantly above...and what others have alluded to before, our hit rate is very, very, very low on successful additions over the last 2 years. That's not good enough when we’ve been selling our ‘best’ most windows, and it means we've been lumbered with a squad full of mediocre players on large wages which we cannot shift. For a club that screamed out about how well run it is, this has been a cluster**** of shockingly poor squad and financial management over the last 2 years.

I'd agree with that. Reminds me very much of Isgrove, always rated and kept on 'just in case', but ultimtley never really a top level player. Same will be the case with Hesketh and probably a couple of others too.
