Money has distorted world football for a long time, but the success of Leicester last season and Wales so far this summer, goes to prove that team work can still win over the riches. L1 players, NPC players, squad players at lower PL sides. Not full of stars, full of honest professional players who appreciate the opportunity they've been given and are playing for their country. Look at the genuine emotion on their faces at kick off and at FT, that's not put on - that's genuine. It would be another amazing victory for football if Wales got to the final, themselves and Leicester are showing everyone - don't be scared of 'big names' or the 'riches'. Just be a team.
  2. What a load of pointless fans we have.
  3. I don't understand what some fans are on about ''He was the main reason we got relegated''. I think you'll find the reason you were relegated was based on the entire season, not the 4 months he was there as coach. I hate football fans sometimes, so clueless.
  4. Yeah, that's him! You have a better memory than me! Is the kit actually being released tomorrow by the way? I keep seeing mentions of an unveil tomorrow, but has the club teased that?
  5. Didn't one of the guys who posted on here help design a couple of our kits? (when we self made them, iirc). Can't remember his name.
  6. They already have Joel Robles there, who they 'rate'. Who knows.
  7. For all of 4 months, by which time they were already doomed.

    Awful Cedric.
  9. And I'm still yet to see a valid reason why people think this is a bad choice, it's just trotted out with nothing to back it up.
  10. He didn't renew his contract and wanted a fresh challenge. - no idea, ask him - no idea, ask the club.
  11. Can I ask why you think this is a bad choice?

Yeah, just came on here to see if anyone else has spotted that! His would have expired next year, so good that he's on board with the new lot. I would imagine Lee went as he's going to linkup with Rafa - as Newcastle lost their assistant over the summer.
  13. He's a unit. Would be a statement for sure.
  14. The club could have easily gone for Pelligrini, just for the sake of a name and an 'instant' lift. But in my eyes, that would have been lazy in terms of long-term planning. We're a club who doesn't just look at what tomorrow brings, we look years ahead - so it makes sense that we get ourselves a manager who can embrace what we do and potentially grow the club over the coming years. Pelligrini would have seemed very short-termist and not within our beliefs at all, and whilst an attractive option, I'm glad the club have one again looked outside the box and appointed someone who may not be well known, but clearly ticks a lot of the boxes for what we want in a manager. And as we've learned over the years, this isn't a 'one man' operation - it's a case of everyone pulling in one direction for the same goals, they don't need to be big names or massive ego's, but if they embrace what we want to do and can bring their qualities to it, then it will only make us better. He really does tick all the boxes, very MP-esque in his style and how he likes to play. Time will tell if the club have pulled another rabbit from the hat, but history tells you it's fine to be optimistic about this.
  15. kermitsaint, the person who wanted Koeman out. Excuse me if I don't take his arguments or feelings seriously what so ever. I'll pay more attention to my dog.
  16. So is it now Black and Puel out?
  17. Eric Black also speaks french, and this was one of the reasons Garde brought him in at Villa.
  18. Replacing Sammy Lee?
  19. I thought he was ITK?
  20. WTF is that all about? Why are Bournemouth selling their best players to NPC clubs?
  21. Seeing as that's not Virgin Media's logo, I doubt it's that.
  22. It's obviously Claude, will probably be announced tomorrow.
  23. If we beat Stoke to Berahino, as we did with Redmond and Cedric, that would be a giggle.

They seem to be going along the ''promote from within'' line. Have managers coaching the U21's, then they move up to the senior team etc. It may have worked in other nations, but let's be honest, the pool of 'English' managers we have is pretty pitiful. I don't know why they don't try and appoint the best manager they can get. Foreigner, English - whatever, just the best man for the job. We need a 'coach', someone who will get his hands dirty on the training pitch and drill the players constantly. I still can't quite get over at what a non-team we were last night, it was literately just a rabble of blokes put together with a football, there didn't seem to be any thought, idea or philosophy of how we were going to play (over the entire tournament to be honest). So the first thought if i was in the FA would be to get a proper 'training ground' coach, let him develop a system, a style and then include the players best suited to that style. We need someone who is allowed to think outside the box, go down to the NPC, or 'smaller' PL clubs to look for players who 'fit' the style that he wants to play. All this shoehorning of the likes of Rooney and Sturridge into positions they don't play is wrong, there are players available to pick from who would allow us to create a far better team shape tactically. I doubt the FA will be letting that happen though.
  25. There's not really any need to be bitter is there?
