  1. I'm sure Charlton and Cardiff would advise us not to.

Oh well, that's over. How long till the actual football I care about kicks off? Hopefully we start to hear about some signings/manager's soon, that's all that really matters tbh.

Oh good, he's resigned. About time too.

I have a positive.....!!! At least Bertrand and Fraser aren't going to be associated with that ****e!

Ok, backwards. He certainly hasn't taken us forward. A dinosaur of a manager who has no feeling for the game in this day and age.

Not really, this is probably on par with Bradford beating Chelsea a season or so ago. They're L1/L2 quality.

I've never seen a performance as bad as that. Individually awful, but no shape, no idea, no tactics. If Hodgson doesn't resign in his press conference before 10, then someone should do it for him. He has taken this England team no where. All this crap he speaks about building a philosophy, a shape, a plan - there's nothing. The plan in the end was Gary Cahill up front and long balls. How he has managed to make players like Ali, Kane, Vardy look so ineffective is talented as hell - he's a genius for that. He should never set foot on a coaching pitch again.

Gary Neville to kick him into touch, literally.

This is a tactical mess. Players don't seem to know where they're supposed to be, all the talk pre-game of playing with width and you have Sturridge and Sterling coming infield. No composure in the middle of the park, no understanding when to sit or go, or visa versa. Harry Kane needs movement around him, close to him, we're not playing to his strengths what so ever. This is an absolute tactical shambles. Well done Woy.
  10. Sounds to me as if we're trying to build a British core again.
  11. All this talk of having a rich sugar daddy to bankroll us. We have one, they're called Liverpool.
  12. It's a fire sale I tell you, a fire sale. Hold onto your hats #meltdown
  13. I think Jay is excellent, but I'm with a few others who have a nagging fear. The bloke has spent 2 years, pretty much, injured. He's coming on 27 now I think, so right into the prime of his career. He had a full pre-season last year, lots of goals in the games and played a part on the EL games....but then got injured around September and we didn't really see him again. I want nothing more than to see him back on the pitch rampaging down the left and cutting in as he did so well.
  14. Were you saying the same in 2014? FWIW - when we said 'no' to Morgan, he still had 3 years left on his deal. We sold him when he had 2 years left, same as with Mane. So we were still in a decent position to get a very good fee should we have stood our ground (which we did) It's a club run with the head, not the heart. Some people may not like it, but it's a business. You have an asset who you 'sell' this year for £36m, or sell next year for £20. You know he's going to go eventually and will not commit to longer. You take the sensible business decision by getting the maximum. This is why we're a well run club. We'd be a rubbishy run club if we kept all these players and then lost them for free.
  15. He's like some of the posters on here, he'll keep trotting this crap out until one day he is proven right and he'll celebrate from the roof tops. It doesn't mean his point is valid though. I'd be surprised if Claude hadn't OK'd the Redmond transfer, he's obviously been on the radar for a little while now. And Redmond is what I'd call a 'club' signing. Bertrand, Forster, Austin, Jay, Redmond - all long term 'club' targets, not dependent on the manager. They've not turned out too bad have they. People need to start trusting the people at the club who have overseen a 7 year rise.
  16. Do people never learn? The reactions on this thread are pathetic. I'm as disappointed as the next supporter, but I fully expected us to lose Mane and Wanyama this window. You can call us a selling club or whatever, but the club is simply protecting it's interests. If Mane wasn't going to sign a new contract, then we couldn't risk him running it down as his value will plummet (whilst he will arguably get better). Same with Victor, although we'd have lost him for £0. Doesn't make much sense. We've got around £50m for two players this summer, but if we'd stood our ground, refused to sell - we'd have two unhappy campers and probably only fetch around £20-25m next summer. People question our ambition, but we've acted quickly to tie down Fraser, VVD etc to long term deals (up to 2021/2022 i think). Obviously the club realises that the 4 year deals weren't giving us much breathing space, so now with the 5 and 6 year deals we're handing out we should be looking to hold onto the players a lot longer. Mane is what you'd call a maverick footballer, the sort of player who will get you out of your seats and then the next minute he'll have you with your head in your hands. I've enjoyed watching him, but I've equally enjoyed some of the most frustrating experiences watching him! £36m in the bank, probably a sell on % and other bonuses - it can't be sniffed at. If he wanted to go, wouldn't sign a new deal, then the club have acted in 'our' best interests and have got a fee which will enable us to go again.
  17. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36636488 Done and dusted.
  18. Lol, I think it's hilarious that people are getting their knickers in a twist because he's not as big a name as someone else and they haven't heard of him. I didn't realise that being a ''well known'' name equaled the success of a manager. I'm glad the club have the eyes and sense to look beyond a 'name'. Seriously, if some of the utter morons on this board were put in control of our football club then we would be long gone down the leagues. As I thought, not one person who is 'against' this has a valid reason as to why.
  19. Yeah, so basically, there aren't any valid reasons for people acting idiots.
  20. Can I put this question out there, what are the reasons people are disappointed? I've not seen anyone state a valid reason for being underwhelmed or disappointed, so I'd be interested to know why people feel this way as I'm a bit confused.
  21. Let's hope this turns out as well as the last one who underwhelmed you then, eh?
  22. Seriously, how old are you? ****ing grow up.
  23. Jesus christ, what a load of crap spouted on here these days. Like a school bloody playground. Go to a PM or something, no one has any interest in your stupid childish squabbles.
