  1. 4 years left on his Swansea deal (I think). You'd think they'd ask for upwards of £30m+ for him, which we're never going to play. Our chance to sign him was when he left Spurs, but we didn't.
  2. He had a choice - Pundit work, or coaching. He chose punditry. So he won't be a coach anywhere else.
  3. I'm sure I read that in most cases Chinese clubs pay the fee's up front, straight away. Not entirely sure what sort of addon's we could get, he's not going to get International or European recognition over there! I reckon we got a straight £13m in one big hit. If they can afford to pay him £250k p/w, then they can afford to pay us that from their lose change.
  4. TBF our interviews aren't even close to as tedious as Liverpool's. Their stock questions include 'where were you on the night of Istanbul?' ''what did you think of that night?''. If there's ever an example of a club who live on the past, then they're right there.
  5. I swear some of you guys have never actually seen a bra on a woman.
  6. Got an unfancied squad into Europe, twice. Overachieved. Still not an argument.
  7. Filip Kostic or Christian Tello?
  8. Due to playing for Japan in Iran earlier this summer, the club was unable to acquire a visa in time for Maya Yoshida to join this training camp. As with other players in the squad, Maya was also given extended vacation time and has undertaken the normal fitness testing.
  9. Still haven't seen a decent argument against Puel. So therefore, there isn't one. And it is simply because some fans hadn't heard of him, therefore he must be crap.
  10. I think you either quoted the wrong person, or totally missed his point.
  11. I can see us getting another GK, what with Stek going and Davis retiring - that is a must, unless the club believe Gazzaniga has improved sufficiently enough - but then we're still short in the U21 stakes. I think we'll go after another quick attacking type player as well, someone who can play across the front. Then that will probably be it. Defense is sorted, MF is sorted.
  12. It's what happens when you deal with a classy club, which Bayern quite obviously are.
  13. Still there are people waiting, dribbling and hoping they get a chance to vindicate their hate towards the club, board and how they can do everything much better. ''I was right all along''. I'm sure the thought of them being proven right from 2 years ago gives some of these a boner.
  14. And a lot of ****ing money!
  15. Exactly how I read it. Not sure why others are getting their knickers in a twist. No, we don't have the best midfielders in the league, but in terms of style and 'type' we have the best variation is what I think he was getting at.
  16. Refreshing way to do business really, nothing until the deal was pretty much done. Pretty much ticks every single box in what we look for in a player. He has always been incredibly highly rated, just read some of the comments from European fans on twitter to see what a coup this is.
  17. Yeah, but it doesn't work like that. This is where people will become frustrated/disappointed. We won't see £60m for a couple of years I wouldn't have thought, and we also won't have the TV money straight away - it's paid in installments over the course of the year and If i was the club, that money would go into improving the infrastructure. We don't have £100m burning a hole in our pocket, probably somewhere in the region of £30m available straight away. And it's not about spending **** loads of money, surely football fans can actually understand this now?
  18. If you heard it in your head first, probably not.
  19. Surprised he's taken such a drop down level wise, he is better than that league as he showed in the Euro's. I'd like to have kept him, but clearly we're not going to be able to afford £120k p/w on a player - let alone someone who is 31, that would be suicide. I guess, to have made a profit on him, is a great bit of business really - at his age. Disappointed to see him go, I don't generally see us replacing him - Charlie was his replacement in January, we were one step ahead there.
  20. I don't blame him for wanting out of WBA tbh, dump heap of a football club.
  21. It's a bit rinse and repeat for Sunderland. Appoint new manager in summer, struggle, sack manager, appoint new manager midway through season, stay up - just - appoint new manager, struggle, sack manager...etc
  22. All he's done is list names that have been in the press, I could have wrote that and no one would have told me. I'd have just read it online. If you are 'ITK' you do not get that level of detail and information, you get little snippets. There's too much specific detail for anything he says to be genuine. His name is clearly that for a reason, he's wumming that lot a good'un
  23. Robben never had anything on Lee Holmes. He was just a Holmes wannabe.
