It's good for his experience and development, there's certainly a lot more mileage in us giving Stephens the exposure rather than a washed up CB. He's a composed player, not sure what you're getting at. He's been one of the improvements over the course of the 2nd half.
-
People are also ignoring the fact that Caceres is actually more of a RB than a CB, he's played most of his games as a RB. Basically, the club dropped an absolute **** by not replacing Fonte and needed to be seen to do something. The fact we bought in Caceres proves that they know they dropped a ****.
-
Well done for admitting you're a WUM.
-
Yeah, well he's not going anywhere is he.

Who the **** is gamby?

I remember when we lost 6-1 to Liverpool at home, and 4-1 away to City. Bloody MP and Koeman.
-
Thought we gave them a good game, they just had Costa/Hazard on top form and that's very hard to stop - even more so when you have reserve CB's. I'm a bit frustrated with Boufal, I thought he had a great first half - I can only hope he felt a tweak or something and he didn't just wimp out, that's not exactly going to make it work for him here. Romeu had a great game, in one stage he bossed that midfield, but we were just too meek defensively. Too nicey, nice. Still doesn't feel as if this season has ever really started for me, nothing has got going. Let's just get to the summer and regroup, big summer - we can go two ways.
-
He never really makes much sense tbh.

How many bust ups has Bertrand had with Puel? Didn't this originally evolve from a fake news site that made stuff up?

40 points is enough. We're not getting relegated.

You chat so much rubbish.

Huge games for all the teams at home this afternoon. I expect Hull to win today, so anything less than a win for Swansea and it is goodnight Vienna - no survival Sunday this year.

http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/leicester-southampton-in-contact-with-nice-midfielder-jean-seri-4178399 he has had a great season tbh.

I've always loved Jay as a player, but he's definitely lost something since his injury. He doesn't seem as mobile to me and looks a lot more leggy and certainly not as quick along the ground. I think it's pretty clear he'll be going this window, hope he gets a club better than WBA though. Wonder if he could turn back up at Burnley.
-
Yeah, what the hell. Shocked me when I saw this earlier, heard he had been taken ill but you don't expect to hear this of a 44 year old RIP.

http://sportwitness.co.uk/manager-says-southampton-move-ideal-young-belgian-star-officials-already-sent/ Watching Dendoncker tonight makes me think we'll need to act quick if we want him. Tielmans on the other hand....probably a little out of our reach now! Seriously good.

Luke Shaw's stalled development. What does it say about our academy?
S-Clarke replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
Still think that was more of a PR signing, as he was going to play in the U21 game at St Mary's against Surman... Lots of potential to market the game just on that. -
That wouldn't have happened though. We wouldn't have signed VVD had we signed TA. So, we didn't really lose out massively. Two fantastic centre backs, we probably got the one with the greater potential and sell on.
-
£30m for Keane, £25-30m for Gibson. Christ alive. Need to be getting at least £60m for VVD.
-
Sky Sources, just saw that bit. I believe!

Is this an actual link to Sigurdsson? I mean, an actual link? Always saw him as a pipe dream, but he's exactly what we need.
-
I don't think they really took us apart, we just played into their hands really. It would have changed their mindset had we started on the front foot, but to be fair he's just working with a limited squad which probably can't do what he wants right now - will be interesting to see what he does in the summer.
-
I would agree with that. Generally, this is how we've played against the 'top teams' this year. Not very aggressive, playing on the back foot etc. The Man Utd friday game at the start of the season was an illustration of things to come in that respect. We caused Utd tons of problems in the EFL Final by attacking them and playing on the front foot, but arguably the scoreline forced us to play that way. With the players we have, we should play on the front foot. We're not good enough to try and contain the 'top sides'. We should just give them a game, but you need management who isn't afraid to take a gamble and play a risk. It does seem as if Puel is very much a safety first manager.
-
Well, I guess we'll get him cheaper if we get him before Celtic have showcased him!

What a joke of a player that Traore fella is. Ruined the game for Boro, they were in it until he came on.
