  1. Can only see him being used as support to the Development and U18 roles - maybe a prominent role working between both set-ups?
  2. I don't quite understand how he was able to promise all of this, when it wasn't even his $$$. He's just like an Italian Peter Risdale in that effect. If he was so true to his word, he would have attempted a takeover with one of the many backers he had lined up should our current owners decide to pull back slightly. Where is he?
  3. Pretty certain he's a skate on a windup.
  4. Still a little baffled as to why he's a ****? Good player, gave us seasons of success and quality, stayed with us in divisions he was never really supposed to be in. He now has probably his one and only chance of a big career move, and it doesn't always occur for every player. He deserves his crack and I think he at least deserve a little respect and gratitude from us, him and Lambert have almost single handily got us where we are right now!
  5. TBF there were other videos, but from like 2/3 years ago. This was the only recent one, and it's actually quite interestingly, showing his input into FC Twente's match against RK's Feyernord last season.
  6. I think this one has got to the stage whereby it warrants it's own thread now.... Valid links here: http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/485295/Southampton-look-to-beat-Liverpool-and-Everton-to-Dusan-Tadic-after-Luke-Shaw-departure (Although they quite clearly don't know who Tadic is, given they're saying he's a Shaw replacement) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2668367/Dusan-Tadic-Southamptons-radar-boss-Ronald-Koeman-eyes-reinforcements.html and a dutch source too: http://www.telegraaf.nl/telesport/voetbal/buitenlands/22785786/__Koeman_shopt_in_eredivisie__.html And he's an obligatory youtube video: I'd see it as a bit of a coup if we get him to be honest, and given our financial strength, FC Twente's financial situation, our requirement for a player of his style and RK's admiration of the player....it seems very possible.
  7. Well, I wouldn't expect Clyne to be happy. All his mates going, and he's seemingly been demoted to 2nd choice right back. The emergence of chambers, whilst has been good for us, has been to the detriment of Clyne who does deserve to play most weeks, tbh.
  8. Tadic is a very good player, could easily adapt out of that league IMO - he's probably too good for it, truth being told. Quite a powerful and determined little player, and full of skill. The lallana replacement I'd have thought.
  9. Barca, believe it or not, are willing to sell him. Price is around 20mill euros.
  10. Surely they only need to terminate the loan?
  11. Way too early for an article like that, to be honest. Even though it's nice to read positive stuff, there's every chance that the team he has listed will not be the team come the start of the season.
  12. Shaw, not an issue ''only a left back'' ? what sort of view is that? He's top, top, top quality. We will be lucky to see a player of his level at Southampton again, him leaving will make us very weak down the left hand side - that is a fact. So, it is an issue, and it's a position which needs to be sorted swiftly with an experienced international player - but even they wouldn't be as good. Really getting miffed with Shaw being put down by everyone as ''just a left back'' ''let him go for that money'' ''we can easily replace him for £5m''. No, we can't.
  13. Dusan Tadic. Very talented attacking player, plays left, right or central. The Lallana replacement.
  14. They won some silverware and had a good run in Europe, beating Valencia on their own patch. I'd say it went pretty well.
  15. Totally agree, 50 goals in 57 games in the last 2 seasons is simply horrific. Don't give me the bull**** that the dutch league doesn't count either. There have been equally as many brilliant additions from that league as there have been dudds. If as you say, you are judging him solely on goal scoring, then your opinion that he's **** is incredibly misguided, and quite frankly, dumb.
  16. Lovren, Shaw, Morgan and Lallana were probably 4 of the most consistent over the course of the season.
  17. Would explain why the Lallana deal is being delayed until the new week. Could probably have gone through yesterday, but it's a bit of a PR disaster to sell 2 of your stars on the same and with no incomings.
  18. What are you on about? Cortese was going to sell Rickie for about £5m to Big Sam. What would you have preferred?
  19. I would imagine it is taken into account, as the transfer revenue received will be reported in the accounts as ''profit'' - so I would have thought FFP would see that as a way of increasing profit and significantly lowering the loss. Maybe, you could be right - as we're going to be running at an insane profit after all of this.
  20. What I do know is that if Madrid, Barca, Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea came calling for me, and offered me a £100k p/w pay rise, then I'd go - no matter who was flaming in charge, and no matter what he said about CL football. After the season we had it was always going to be hard, no matter who was at the helm, and unfortunately it seems as if NC wimped out of it - as if this would have occurred under him, he knows the backlash he would have got. It's clever in a way, as he now looks like the genius and the guy who held it all together. But he used KL's money to do so, and once that wasn't forthcoming as readily as he hoped, he wasn't interested in any more. To me, he bailed on us and wimped out of this inevitable difficult summer - no matter how well he did in the last 5 years.
  21. I think what we are seeing is just a normal football occurrence, this is what will happen to 'un-fancied' and provincial clubs if they over achieve and have a cracking season. The players will gain interest and their heads will be turned, bids will arrive and best players will be poached. Athletico Madrid won La Liga, yet they're being pulled apart as well. If you're not a Chelsea, Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City, Madrid, Barca, Bayern, PSG (part of the elite group etc etc) then you have to kind of admit defeat when those clubs come sniffing for your players, no matter how well you've done the previous season. You can reject the bids all you like, but all you'll be left with is a player sulking and stamping his feet because he will know full well what was on offer in terms of $$$. It's the sad reality of the modern game. Clubs like ourselves can enjoy a season like last year once in a blue moon, because we will get stripped apart on the back of it. It does leave a sour taste, but that's how it works these days. But lets be honest, we've had 5 years of unprecedented success - it's been an epic ride, but now we've reached the top of that ride and clubs are seeing our young lads now performing at the highest level at a really high level. The only way it could be any different is if we were owned by a zillionaire who was prepared to bankroll us, but we're not - so we have to accept this situation.
  22. It does kind of make a mockery of this financial fair play malarkey. How exactly is it promoting fair play? It will just allow the clubs like Man Utd and Man City to drift further and further and further away, doesn't allow anyone else to even get close due to ''fair play''. Yeah, nice one PL.
  23. Post of the decade. As sad as it is to read!
  24. Totally different situations, not a like what so ever. The only reason some fans are seeing the likeness is because our new manager is dutch. The main, huge difference here is that we will reinvest the money into first team players. Sure, some young guys will be promoted - but we're in a position to purchase, which we weren't at the time of the dutch 2. Oh, and we were also floating around in the bottom half of the NPC.....!
  25. Some ITK Spurs fans are suggesting that himself and Lovren will join once the WC is over - and once they've shipped out Dawson, Vlad Cheritsis (sp) and Sandro - with Napoli keen on the later. That would leave an incredibly sick taste in the mouth, if I'm honest. Anywhere but there. I can understand players moving to Man Utd, L'Pool, Barca, Arsenal. But Spurs? come on.
