To be honest, believing anything the board say kind of ended in the Chambers sale statement. ''We are determined to keep our best young players at the club''. That was in the Chambers sale statement, yep, it actually was. Go Reed.

How do we intend to get to Europe the hard way, if they've been given the green light to reinvest £91m by the way? That would suggest we're going to buy our way into Europe, which would be the easy way. Excuse me whilst I invalidate his waffle.
-
I personally expect and believe we will sell one of Cork, Morgan or JWP by the end of the window.
-
Where will we finish next season? Poll please mods!

Can't say for sure at the mo, as we have no idea what the squad will look like! So a few alternatives... But as it stands, a long winded relegation battle - but ultimate survival. Lose Jay and Morgan....relegation by some distance. But keep both, build on the squad with the likes of Rojo, Ings, Forster and co...and we could have a chance of being mid-table. -
I'd take Rodwell, although stay well clear of Sinclair and Guidetti - both damaged goods. Did you see Sinclairs impact at WBA last year? Their fans say he was the worst player they've seen down there in a while. And Guidetti hasn't played for ages since having a virus which effected the nerves in his legs. Rodwell, not bad, the other 2 - stay the **** away!
-
I reckon we'll end up seeing Rojo and Virgil. Think Vlaar, for his age, will end up being a little too expensive. Virgil will be the same price/a little cheaper and has 4-5 years on Vlaar. (potentially his international replacement too). I wouldn't expect the club to go for Vlaar if they feel they can get those two. If we do end up with Vlaar, it won't be too bad, but will end up being at the end of the window and have scary comparisons with the rushed through Wayne Thomas deal.

To actually have the guts to talk of Europe, after you've just sold 5 of your first team players - potentially soon to be 7, is ridiculous. It was a statement to appease the fans, we will not get near Europe in the foreseeable future.
-
They still don't have to sell him, the club aren't under any pressure to sell even if he submits a transfer request. The issue is that we then have a bad apple in the club, but if I was the club here I'd take the chance. I don't think they can even consider selling him now, as they will have then lost the plot and 99% of support.

I believe he called Lallana a ****-beard, which was the final straw in his desire to leave. He's a bit too honest.
-
Yep, let's just sell off our soul.... Maybe Bournemouth can come and use St Mary's every now and then if they want to?
-
They forfeit all their player and loyalty bonuses. Something which Lallana simply refused to do.

He sidestepped the questions on the long-term plan, and it was all very waffly. We'll find out after September One when they can speak more about the plan. Is that because they'll then work out if they're going to go the NPC first or not? I honestly don't think there is a long-term plan here, the statement has done nothing to reassure me - given Morgan's outburst. Ralf is here for one thing, to be wheeled out to talk to the masses when the gunshots start being fired. We'll probably hear from him again before September One, as we've missed out on all our targets he can say how good our young academy players are. And then everyone can lap that up as some sort of positive breakthrough as well.

Oh trust me, I think NC is as much to blame as anyone - he fed them all lies as much as anyone else...HOWEVER...I cannot fail to see how this could have been handled by the board any worse than it has been. There seems to be a lack of understanding with regards to the situation and it simply spiralled out of control. We have no one of any experience to stop that, not even Koeman as the momentum is so strong. Not even Krusty and his statements do anything, 1 sale too late for me.
-
Apparently a transfer request is ''imminent''.
-
Still waiting to hear what this clear and defined strategy is tbh. Maybe we'll find out on SEPTEMBER ONE? #teamsaints #gosaints

I think most people are happy with the stand the club have put down (but I simply believe that stand is because we didn't get the $$ we wanted, simple as that), but it clearly seems to be another abysmally handled situation. If it was just Lallana who wanted out, fair enough, but Chambers, Lovren, Morgan, Lallana, Shaw...all bar chambers demanding to leave as if staying is the worst thing ever. I think we need to find out what's so bad, as in isolation I don't think it's just the fact they're offered more $$$. We must be getting all players to polish Ralf and KL's shoes or something.

Mayuka up top, Biablainy on the right, Ryan Smith on the left. Dream team her we come.
-
Guan 2.0 did say (I think) that a potential 6th signing would depend on the quality of the 5th. So if we get Rojo, kind of covers off 2 positions and means we don't need that 6th (possibly Kolo, but only guessing)
-
The sale of what facility? We've not sold that to Liverpool as well have we?
-
Amazingly, this seems to be gathering some sort of pace. This guy doesn't bull****. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/southampton/10998992/Southampton-chairman-Ralph-Krueger-says-midfielder-Morgan-Schneiderlin-is-not-for-sale.html

I'm guessing Taider was a team mate of Gastons @ Bologna too? Nice to see us trying to make it homely for him! Hope we actually do make an effort with him this year, felt he was just left to rot under MP.
-
Another example of a player being **** as soon as they (almost) leave?
-
Both, I reckon. And I honestly don't belive Spurs can afford him. They spent all their dosh last summer, hence why any deals they do now include player swaps.
-
Just to throw this one out there, last summer Luis Suarez did pretty much the same. He added: "I have the club's word and we have the written contract and we are happy to take this to the Premier League for them to decide the case but I do not want it to come to that. "I don't feel betrayed [by Liverpool] but the club promised me something a year ago just as I promised them that I would stay and try everything possible to get us into the Champions League. "They gave me their word a year ago and now I want them to honour that. And it is not just something verbal with the coach but something that is written in the contract. I’m not going to another club to hurt Liverpool." "People may accuse me of showing a lack of loyalty but last season we told Liverpool there was interest from a top European club but they told me: We've got a new coach and we’re going to push for the Champions League'. "I spoke with Brendan Rodgers several times and he told me: 'Stay another season, and you have my word if we don't make it then I will personally make sure that you can leave'. "Liverpool is a club with a reputation for doing things the right way. I just want them to abide by the promises made last season. Some of [my team-mates] say to me: 'We cannot understand that if you have it signed that you can't leave'." He then stayed, scored a bucket load of goals, and went to Barca for more than his asking price last year. Liverpool stood firm on it.

Basically, we are starting a rebuild. Funds will be provided to Koeman (he said every single bit of player sale money will go to Koeman) He feels that next season will be tough, but we will become stronger. Wants us to get to Europe the hard way, and feels players who want out want to do it the easy way (That was a bit of an lol comment tbf) Jay and Morgan WILL NOT be sold - Guaranteed it, 110% they will not go. He reiterated it in every interview and even on the OS. And then lots of waffle about how he enjoys it, about how to judge us on SEPTEMBER ONE and that teamsaints will get stronger. Oh, and no plans to sell.
