Easily the first appointment that's been received well by all that I can remember in a long time. Last one was possibly Pardew? (But even at the time, not everyone was happy with that). Adkins was a total let down for a lot of people at the time he was appointed, and MP was just hated from the word go because of how he came in! This guy was wanted from the start...and we got him.

This has been in the pipeline for weeks, he's always been the outstanding candidate of those legitimately linked. You don't often get the opportunity to appoint someone of such calibre and ilk as your manager - was way too good an opportunity for the club to pass up, so I'm glad they made it happen. It's also pretty impressive that we have another manager as assistant - Erwin's record isn't too shabby either as a manager, he's even been an international manager in the past. All being all, it looks and feels like an international and high class managerial team - in terms of stature within the game, it's a step up. It's the level of appointment we needed to make to help turn the heads of Adam, Lovren and co - this may make them just think for a second. There will be question marks over his ability to adapt abroad, as he's only been a big success as a manager in his home country - but this club provides him with the perfect set of tools to make a name for himself I feel. He has managed some of the biggest clubs in the world, and played for them. His winning % has only dropped bellow 50% at Valencia - I'd say that's pretty epic. Now let's get cracking on preparing for the season - he's got a good 6-8 weeks now.

He doesn't look amazing, just a bog-standard average player in the Dutch league. Seems to play as a CM primarily as well, not entirely sure we need one of those.

Randomly, a Swansea director has said we're signing him - possibly from under their noses.

Lex Immers. [video=youtube;Oj-lAsMxbXg]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oj-lAsMxbXg Just don't let him take the penalties.

Peaked too early, he's now just a mid-table PL player, who just happens to be earning 300k p/w. Go figure. Doubt it's just me, but England just seem to flow much better without him in the side.
-
He's utter, utter class fwiw.

Quotes from Erwin Koeman's agent: "It is true that there are talks going on (with Southampton)" "The idea is that Ronald is Head Coach and Erwin as his assistant"
-
Van Dijk is class, albeit it's a poor league - he's stand out up there, too good. Bit like Wanyama

What do you mean tonight, i always talk sense

Anyway, forget this now - done and dusted. so far, this has been the best world cup of my lifetime in terms of games, goals and entertainment. England can do well, or crap - but it's not going to ruin my enjoyment of this epic start to the world cup.

Not sure he's the sort of ''on the shoulder'' type I was referring to, but he's probably the only natural goal scorer we have in our ranks at the mo.
-
Roy said Rooney did very well on the left, oh dear me.
-
Hand in a transfer request. I hear he wants to join Italy.
-
He had class 5-6 years ago, but he's gone now. Time we all faced that fact! Peaked at an early, early age and is now nothing but an average, paceless player.
-
I don't sense a natural goal scorer out there. So many attacks, Wellbeck, Sturidge and Rooney - all outside the box. What's the point in that? We lack an Owen type of player these days, we have lots of ''attacking forwards'' but none that I would call and out and out on the shoulder centre forward. Someone who lives and breathes goals - knows where to be and when.
-
The 2 full backs are decent to average PL players, nothing more. They're not international level, and the full back area's are our achilles heal. Throw Shaw in, I would. Also Wiltshire hasn't ever ''happened'' - lots of hype as a young player, but nothing has ever happened with him.
-
Rooney and Gerrard were pants, and held us back. Positives in the young players, but this is a tournament too soon - valuable experience though, has to be said. Also not massively convinced with Baines at international level.
-
It's not really a terrible decision, both very much competing for the same spot - and it looks as if pace has won out here.
-
TBF, he's a very good player. PSG's GK.
-
LOL, yeah just saw that. Holy jeez. One relegation spot nailed.
-
Clearly won't and can't happen. This is a done deal.

Why would he come here?
