Koeman, Frank De Boer are the 2 that stick out who hit that criteria.
-
As a stability choice, then yeah - but from hearing Les, I feel the club want to continue the attacking aspect - Moyes isn't going to bring a free-flowing side to St Mary's. Dogged, robust, hard to beat, but ultimately quite dull. Not sure that is the 'Southampton way' Les' was referring to.

TBF, he's not a bad manager really. Unfairly sacked by Spurs IMO, made a very good crack of a mess of a squad. But he's a skate, so yeah, I'd file him under crank.

It was a good interview, and I think it proves why as fans we need to trust Reed - he's seemingly the only one who knows the football side! RK has tried these sort of interviews and they've fallen pretty flat quite quickly, but this was quite an interesting insight in the process of everything really - honest and not misleading what so ever in my eyes. I think we'll get Koeman if I'm honest, that's been the feeling in my water for the last 2 weeks. It's all slightly coincidental that the talk is of early next week, and he's back from holiday on Sunday. If it's as Reed says - all paper work to sort out - then as long as Koeman was happy with what was on offer, then his agent and lawyers can sort it - and he can go on a little break whilst it's all done. But I liked the interview, quite revealing and positive - and from someone I feel I can trust.

Seeing as he's now being touted around for the WBA job, I doubt very much if he's in the running any more - but strongly believe he was one of the applicants.
-
I personally feel he's been involved in enough of the good stuff to be awarded some trust right now.....let's see what he can do. I'll be honest and say I'm not entirely keen on the make up of the rest of the board, but I don't feel Les' deserves a lot of the grief he's currently getting.
-
Funnily enough, I think the exact opposite. I feel we're approaching the end game.
-
I think that midfield would get eaten up by Pirlo, if I'm honest. Would go with Henderson and Gerrard just to have some solidity in there, may be a bit boring, but keep Pirlo quiet and you're onto something. Would start Sterling personally though.

This was a real shock when I heard this. He was one of the classics. Bottom was epic.
-
Or he knows that the summer will be truly full on here, so he's getting his holiday out of the way now so he can come here and crack on immediately.
-
This will be very interesting....I'm one of the (few by the looks of it) people who thinks Les' is kind of the only person with any footballing know-how on board...Easy to point fingers at him when it's all gone bad, but he's been here through the entire journey...so has done plenty of good. Thanks for the heads up.

Or we could just support our own team? there's a thought.
-
If they run at and attack Johnson, they're in. He is simply horrific, nothing other than a bottom half PL player at best - but probably NPC quality right now. I'd have Lloyd James over him!
-
Lukaku is understood to be a target for several Premier League clubs, as well as Primera Liga champions Atletico Madrid and Italian giants Juventus. Could be interesting re: the Juve interest, what with the background Osvaldo mumblings.
-
Maybe he has good interplay with Jordy Clasie? Just saying.
-
Wasn't Van Wolfswinkel bought from Portugal? He had a pretty successful time with Sporting iirc. I think it goes to show that any signing is a gamble tbh, I mean look at Osvaldo....£15m, playing for a top European club, the Italian number 9...should be a shoe in to be a success, but flopped more than anyone of us could have imagined.
-
Pretty epic, really. All of his success at Feyenord is based on selling their stars, bringing through the young players and they finished top 4 twice. Now those young players are going to the WC with holland.
-
It's been a done deal for about 14 days, I reckon. It's clear he wants to come here, which is often the biggest stumbling block...! And I cannot see anyone being stupid enough to pass up an opportunity to bring in Koeman.
-
Only because they said he'd be a fringe player and not really feature for them. Which is quite refreshing in a sense. He'll end up in the PL somewhere, but didn't have anywhere near the impact I thought he'd have at Palace. Was a bit pants really.
-
Jeremy Wilson I think.

For me, I always prefer to avoid the promoted teams for the first month. The first few weeks of the season they always play with a spring and can throw some odd results in the mix. I'd prefer to start with a Newcastle/Stoke/Villa style team. Leave the recently promoted sides till October/November time.
-
I think he's available for around £9m. But I just get nervous with players from the dutch leagues......!
-
Premier League football, big pay day, more exposure for the Italian national side - yep, I'd think he'd jump at the chance.
-
It won't. He has always been a target and is a DM style player.
