He's the upgrade on Puncheon we require.

That would be my main criticism of him, ok and that's a pretty big one for a winger! But he's more effective in terms of opening up play than SDR for example, who is as effective as a chocolate teapot if we're honest. Personally, In the long run, we could do with an upgrade to Puncheon.

Le Tissier: "Cortese is not a nice human being"
S-Clarke replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Loved that, genius. -
Yep, pretty much spot on. I tend to believe we over performed last season, and we've kind of relied on the same players to over perform again.

Never done anything for me. He may well be able to lend a hand, but primarily he's only just done electrics and cabling for me.
-
So that's where our hard earned money goes....! I paid him in cash, but I'm sure he's open to other methods.

http://www.domestic-electrics.co.uk/ This is your man. Very reasonable, used him a few times for all sorts of bits and bobs. Does all sorts of things, wiring, cable management, electric sockets etc. Prices are great, can do it pretty quickly as well.

This is exactly it, as I said above the only reason people say it was enjoyable is because we may win alot, and did in the last few seasons. Simple as that. I can tell you it wasn't' bloody well enjoyable when we lost 5-0 to Wednesday and Hull. One of the worst seasons of my life.

This opinion boils down to us losing every week. If we were winning quite a lot at this level, I'm sure we'd love this even more. It's natural to prefer somewhere where you are more successful, but I still believe we need to be here (and to stay here) to really progress as a club. Sometimes you have to ride the **** to get through to the good times, and we sure did have to do that over the last few years.

He looks a decent player, but nothing special, but will be another one of those average Man Utd squad players that fade away after time. He probably wasn't worth getting messed around for, just a shame we didn't have an alternative.

Bale isn't out to the best of my knowledge, he missed last week because his missus had a baby - but he has no fitness issues.

Harry Redknapp to be named manager within 3 weeks
S-Clarke replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
We were actually 17th, which is why his arrival was met with a fair bit of optimism. Especially with January transfers around the corner. He was poor for us though, and his signings weren't great either. -

It's not because he was succesfull with Portsmouth, it's with the speed he ran back to them and stitched us up. That's pretty unforgivable if we're honest. I remember when we first got him back in 04, most fans were pretty ok with it - but his actions here have totally changed that reaction happening a 2nd time. -
eh? They've never been promoted, always wobbling in the bottom half of the NPC. I'm gobsmacked he's still there, his record as Ipswich manager is shocking but you cannot say he's not been given time. Only a matter of time though, he's had a decent wedge to spend.

Fair point lol. (maybe not half, but a fair few!)

Harry Redknapp to be named manager within 3 weeks

It would kind of make a mockery of our branding ''Shoulder to shoulder, together we stand '' ''Together as one''. It would divide the fan base in one foul swoop. And it's just not the right sort of manager for what NC wants to build here. We all know what HR is like, transfers in and out and being in a fair bit of control over it. I think it's quite clear here that he wouldn't have that control, especially over the tactics. I don't see Cortese being a man to change his ideas and philosophy, and that's the only way this would happen. And doesn't this have an air of ''Hoddle'' returning all those years ago? -
Of all the players to get a bad injury. What an awful season this is so far.
-
On a different level than any of our CB's, so on that basis he's improve us.
-
I don't think anyone is showing any lack of loyalty towards him. Most fans appreciate him and all he's done for us, he's been a terrific servant and has won matches for us throughout his time. This season though, like a few of our other players, he's out of his depth. Some of the goals he was letting in were poor and his distribution was horrific, so I think it was time for a change. Annoyingly we haven't exactly stopped shipping the goals, and he may have been made a bit of a scapegoat for the 6-1 game, but on the whole he has looked out of his depth this year and was rightly replaced. I'd go with Gazzaniga and it frustrates me that he wasn't selected on Saturday, he's done nothing wrong and when you have a sloppy defence as we do the last thing you want to do is chop and change it, so get Gazza back and keep him there.

Agreed, as I mentioned on another thread. 2 years ago on 28th December 2010 Blackpool were 8th with 25th points, and Wolves were bottom with 14 or so points. Wolves survived and Blackpool didn't. Weird league, every team has it's day throughout the season. I know every season is different, but one thing you can be sure of is that nothing is ever really decided by Christmas in any position.

Frustratingly Shaw has got injured again, and will miss the England U18 games.
-
We don't really have a similar player to replace him, and if we want this formation to work then we need 2 wide men in my opinion. He's as good as we have.
-
Yep, I honestly thought we'd get another CB and LB, so was surprised when we didn't. But I didn't think our current lot would look as bad as they are, if i'm honest.
-
He looked to have taken quite a knock to the thigh, I think NA mentioned a ''slight'' tear, so he won't be available for a while. He's a solid player, but I wouldn't want to rely on him much this year truth be told. I think we've exceeded quite a few players ability, but he's still decent enough backup for now.
