The premier league has never had a loan window, and never will. The loan window is for football league clubs only. Looks like the last 7 years has had this loan window ingrained on some minds!

Southampton are a dull, non-entity of a club - if we'd been scheduled to play Chelsea or one of the other Sky darlings Bates could well have been given another reason to cling onto the club. Hopefully we throw in Ramirez, Lambert, Lallana, Clyne and take them to the cleaners to prove what a 2 bob club they are these days.

TBF, everyone said that about us last season. Momentum is a massive thing in football, if you have that in the lower leagues you can be hard to stop.

I think that's a fair thing to say. On their day, Arsenal can do that to any team - even established PL teams. If you're slightly off your game, and they're right on it - bang. They created shed loads of chances yesterday, but weren't as clinical (typically). Overall though, we've had a tough start but I think we've aquitted ourselves really well and - apart from the blemish of the Arsenal game - we've not really looked out of place against anyone. I'd worry more for Reading. They've had a pretty easy start fixtures wise, compared to us, but they're in a worse position. They don't score goals on the whole, or create many chances. That's why I think we'll be ok - we always create chances, against any team, and as long as we continue to do that we will win more than we lose. It's still hard to judge anything yet, give it until around November time and I think it will all start taking a little bit of shape.

I assume you've just looked at the Barnsley score? He kept that score down fwiw. Will be a very good keeper, but still learning the ropes.

He's got his head down and is playing with the right attitude. He's had a mixed time here, to say the least, but he's been given a 2nd chance and he's taken it with both hands. He's a talented player, but he just needs to work on his consistency, his game can still be a little eratic - if he had that, then he'd have been a PL player long before now.
