We need more stories like this, about time chelsea fans but also football fans in general started refusing to pay the prices http://www.fsf.org.uk/news/Ticket-trouble-at-the-Bridge-and-Bramall-Lane.php
  2. hahahahahahah "In the past six-or-seven years around half-a-billion pounds was moving around the club," Dubov told BBC South Today. "But we don't even have proper toilets in the stadium... this was a nonsense." The Russian continued: "What we can promise is that that will not happen with us."
  3. Napoli are a class above for support, superb numbers and noise, impressed with the numbers they have brought over for Liverpool last season and Man City this year. Went over in 2008 to see them playing Lazio was gutted away fans were banned but still top atmosphere and flares on display. That video is them going to Roma away.
  4. it would certainly test the inventiveness of our fans, how to get alcohol past the stewards and onto the coach, although for sheer passion shouldn't need a drop to get up for this game!

Our pricing may not be deemed to be expensive compared to other clubs, but it is a symptom of football in general, Burnley away next week is £26, how much is the average wage in Burnley? Can’t be much for sure, madness them charging those prices. Last season we did a couple of deals for Oldham and Dagenham at home where season ticket holders could buy extra seats for £7.50 and “bring a mate” would like to see that for a couple of games, like Peterborough at home on a Tuesday in November, maybe Watford at home just to boost the attendance, the team might be doing well on the pitch but I’m sure the players would like to have a full house and a good atmosphere as much as we would. Other games like West Ham and Middlesbrough at home won’t need such an incentive, can see big crowds for both of those.

Modern Football is not value for money for an increasing number of people in my opinion, finding it harder to justify the cost, especially for those of us who have to travel to get to game.
  7. CB Fry is a bigger legend as well, and if you don't know about him have a read of the saints cult heros book.
  8. would be great to see a few red flares set off in our end with red smoke blowing out onto the pitch would look brilliant on tv, went to Stevenage v Accrington Stanley in the play offs and the STANLEY ULTRAS let some off when the team came out, look superb.
  9. is anyone driving from the London area for this game?
  10. Not as many as we could have done, for example if they sold them from may with promotion high and with better offers. I think we should also categorise games gold and silver to have lower prices for less popular games. Fulham v Blackburn last Sunday season ticket holders could buy 2 additional tickets for £5 each. Helps fill the ground.
  11. Why? Pretty simple, more attractive season ticket deals, higher number signed up for every game therefore less need to start chasing fans to come to the less popular games.
  12. I thought Birmingham played well, but they did put a lot of effort in chasing the game and looked tired at the end, physical side who will make it tough for us. Redmond looked good so whoever plays right back will have to stick tight to him. We got mentioned a number of times and commentator even said Adkins will be pleased the brum had put that much effort in.
  13. Agreed, the official site articles are cringeworthy and offer no perspective other than "isn't x player amazing and he can't wait for next game, get your tickets now to avoid disappointment"
  14. It's been going on along time before that .
  15. They are not, we like to show how we are the next Barcelona by having petty squables with our local paper.
  16. because they are not a particularly well supported club who have more appealing games coming up in Europe etc. They played Middlesbrough on a sunday and took 591, they took 1,378 to watford which is much closer to Brum then southampton, plus they have had a poor start. I reckon they will bring 850 max. Total crowd 21k
  17. we could be here all day discussing this, but you have to look at how much they actually spent to aquire an asset of the club including the stadium and the land, it was an absolute bargain picking up the club in league one at it's lowest point. IF we were to secure promotion this season with the guaranteed millions coming in from SKY and the additional TV revenue they would have no problem finding a buyer paying more than what they have invested. Quite clearly buying a football club is not a way to make money, look at the mess others like Mike Ashley have got themselves into , but in the case of Saints it was an excellent investment opportunity. The sale of Chamberlain has distorted it, but make no mistake, with the crowds we have the club are naturally positioned for competiting towards the top of the championship based on income alone without additional owner investment. The previous poster had made reference to "if anyone is being ripped off it is the Leibherrs" which is clearly not the case. I hope they do stay involved with the club and see the potential and willing to invest more, hopefully the ownership will become clearer this season
  18. I don't think they have enough fit players to really leave many out. Zigic is out and Marlon King just come back from injury, their game tonight has to be a good thing for us, especially against such strong opposition.
  19. the game is definitely on itv4 so will have a good watch of that tonight, hopefully some of their key players pick up knocks http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14832918.stm and we can benefit from their tiredness on sunday i'm going with 2-1 home win Braga are 8-5 to win which is tempting odds considering they were finalists last year.
  20. I agree we are fortunate for the investment and are lucky to have it, but the club will generate a great return on their investment if promoted they could sell for a hefty profit. Much of the expenditure on players has been offset by incoming £12M and rising for chamberlain, £400k for Gobern and any cash we get for Puncheon and Mills.

    How many...

It can't be including ninian and highfield road as they aren't current 92. I've seen us play all prem apart from wigan (don't think we've ever played them) all championship, not seen us play Stevenage, chesterfield or bury in league one, and not seen saints play morecambe, Burton, crawley, aldershot, accrington, Macclesfield, hereford in league two but done some of their grounds as a neutral. Currently on 75 of current 92, just got new cardiff and Brighton grounds to do this season (had done both of their old ones, Brighton withdean and Goldstone and ninian)
  22. Surely the point here is once again the clubs communication has not been up to scratch, if they had informed those buying family tickets in ticket news that limited free parking was available then the gentleman could have requested that at the same time as buying his tickets. I wonder if those of you slagging him off actually go that much and pay these fees themselves? Because leaving your customer feeling like they have been ripped off is not good customer service. I've stopped buying other things at the club like programmes, food etc as I'm fed up with the way they try and milk every penny from loyal fans, parking reduced to 15 mins to catch more people out, I can understand why people get ****ed off with it.

    Cup match tickets

32,000 ground, with 9,000 in or with 20,000 in, what makes more atmosphere? plus the extra programme, food and drink sales. Was at AFC Wimbledon v Northampton using the sun deal last night, 2 tickets for £9.50 - £4.75 with no booking fee = value. i think we should at least make the cup game £10 adults £1 kids.

    Cup match tickets

I agree, Palace were charging £5 last night for game v Wigan, Fulham have been doing £5 for Europa league up to group stage and is now £10 for this.

    Cup match tickets

I agree, would have preferred if it was £10 tickets, undecided if I'll travel down myself, but surely plenty will go with the record home win run we are on. Preston will only bring about 300 fans though.
