abject pettiness is one of cortese's primary features, his banning of the echo over reporting the training ground developments a good example.

agree. 5.20ko not a bad kick off time considering how easy it is to get there from southampton, plus even easier for those fans living in the catchment area of winchester / andover / basingstoke, chance to make a day of it and have a good drink up in Reading. Easy to drive to for those fans who want to do that or get the coach. £25 not too bad, all things considered we should take loads, tickets will be on general sale for ages so good one to get group of mates together for as can sit together. A win at cardiff will help us shift tickets.

for their game v Boro in the last round it was £15 in advance rising to £20 on the night which is steep in my opinion, not surpring they only got a crowd of 5,448. would imagine it will be same prices for our game. http://www.cpfc.co.uk/page/MatchTicketInformation/0,,10323~2450901,00.html

i am not at all surpised if this is the clubs (cortese's) stance on the matter, the ex-saints is a superb charity bringing together players of the past who made this club great, but it involves Benali (legal action with cortese) and Lawrie who cortese clearly has a problem with. as far as mr ego cortese goes southampton football club history does not exist prior to his arrival, he has created his own little charity and wants nothing to do with the one that already existed. i went along to the ex-saints do in london last year to raise money for kevin moore, top night with some great stories from ex-players, some of the 76 final team, a real sense of togetherness and proud to be players who once wore the red and white shirt of southampton. cortese doesn't want anything involving the club that he cannot control and get his own way with

you getting back there that night?
-
if we fill the whole end we could have 4,300 there , which would be a top turn out and look quality live on Sky http://www.footballgroundguide.com/reading/ less than an hour on the train, and can get the "group save 4" deal where 4 adults can travel for the price of 2. plenty of trains available, either direct on the cross country service or change at Basingstoke.

i've had to fork out £3k since May mate, hoping for a rebate on some of it but officially broke at the moment.
-
Thanks for the offer Pete - i've decided to give this game a miss now, short of funds and holiday days, gutted as would have been another one of the 92 to tick off.

All we are saying, is give peace a chance. Sing while holding lighters up like candles.
-
If I was you I'd be worried about the flag that you got people to chip in for yet cortese has mugged you off for it and its now sat in a club storeroom to come out when the club decide.
-
I think cortese is very jealous that le tiss will always be held in the highest esteem by the fans and as a mere businessman football supporters will never think of him in the same way.
-
It makes me laugh cortese does one of the most egotistical interviews going, slags off le Tiss, and at the same time he and his wife enjoy the services of some fine establishments in town never paying but charging it to the club account, at least you can be happy that the extra cash we fork out helps fund their lifestyle. Well said Jeff Stelling.
-
Le Tiss, Le Tiss, matt le Matt le tiss, he's the greatest player we've ever had, but cortese thinks he is bad, Matt le Matt le Tiss.
-
very good idea, maybe email the tax payers alliance and other pressure groups and alert them to this, also the media who could tie it in with getting more money into the governments coffers to recover the deficit.
-
i'd much rather look at Preti Patel than that disgusting annoying mess Harriot Harman anyday.
-
Burberry cap crew? was the last game you went to in 2001?
-
well get the bingo bus then Isabel if you want to have a picnic, i'd rather dine in the restaurant car of the football special. Like "The Cat"'s suggestion of going by boat, RedJet to Cowes, bus to Ryde and ferry into portsmouth that way. or even better hire a few yachts and sail from ocean village.
-
there is nothing stopping you going on the bingo bus if you want to you mincer, that option will be available regardless, it is the objection of making everyone go that way that people don't like.
-
you are looking at 5 hours on a coach each way mate so will be a long day - if we have over 1250 up there that will be a good following http://www.theaa.com/route-planner/index.jsp#fromNode=298261055459472%7CSouthampton,%20Hampshire%7CSTREET%7C442516%7C111142%7CtoNode=288260020355265%7CBurnley,%20Lancashire%7CSTREET%7C383925%7C432300

how can you get a ban if you haven't broken the law?
-
so basically i was right then? and that Rut who gave it the patronising "you might not be friends with Carol Vorderman but c'mon' can f*ck right off with his maths as he is clearly paying attention to some of her other assets rather than reading the question properly
-
I think all this sounds like more hassle than it's worth, i'm just going to get a ticket in the home end and travel down by train, much easier hopefully if there are enough saints in the home end they'll just seperate an area off for us like Exeter did a couple of years ago
-
Yes, you can buy on the day
-
Blackburn at home, circa 94 loudest song of the day "3 greedy bastards, there's only 3 greedy bastards" and abuse aimed at flowers, kenna and shearer, but especially shearer. I couldn't care less about Bale or walcott they were here for such a short time, certainly wouldnt clap them and get no pleasure from seeing them do well now.
-
It's easy for him to say that now he's maneuvered a move through the press. I don't really care for him or his skate dad but he'll get no applause from me, and if he thinks he can come back to st marys with arsenal and have a friendly farewell he is wrong.
