    Cup match tickets

Charlton 0-2 Preston so we will play Preston at home next Wednesday in the carling cup. £14 tickets, good chance of another home win and progression to the 4th round.
  2. where are you flying from? chances are flight prices won't change much next couple of days so why don't you wait to buy your match ticket first? would say it is virtually 100% there will still be tickets left on friday though, no chance of us selling out this early.
  3. it is the same for all teams in the Europa league, they play on Thursday and their league games go back to a sunday, same for Spurs, Fulham, Stoke, Celtic
  4. last time i went there the bus ran from the station, but the traffic was awful, don't know what was going on but it took 40 mins to get to the ground from the city centre, bear in mind if you have been in the pub for a bit there are no toilets on board, so not a pleasant journey. For those going by car the ground is just off the motorway, so might be worth stopping somewhere like Leamington Spa on the way for a drink then parking up near the ground.
  5. And he didn't touch the ball, waste of time, wish they'd just buy him and get him off the books.
  6. i am surprised the ticket office didn't point out to you that they wouldn't waive the fee as you wouldn't save it anyway online. will be interesting to see if the family area is contained within the same section as the rest of the away fans as it is considerably cheaper. i will be impressed if we do take 1988 to Cardiff on a Tuesday night, although can see quite a few picking this one ahead of Burnley away the saturday before.
  7. Not sure where you've been for the last year but the ticket tax is also charged when buying online, i agree it is a joke, best bet is to buy the cardiff tickets when at the Birmingham game on sunday from the window, no tax.
  8. Having a top drink up pre match, Brighton away no tv in the pub, enjoyed a cracking 3-0 away win at the withdean round 2 of the worthington cup, good cup away day.
  9. Absolutely brilliant celebration, love it. Remember that at the time and thinking that is exactly what any saints fan would do scoring against the skates. His mum and dad used to get the train from Winchester to most of the away games, remember them celebrating coming back from Middlesbrough I think when Bridge had just got his first England call up in around 2001/02
  10. how is st mary's better? other than atmosphere? it doesn't look particularly attractive, the roof is starting to rust, it is just another characterless IKEA ground, just thank God it is near the city centre and not a out of town retail park with a harvester as the nearest pub.
  11. have a watch of this and educate yourself. Highbury > Emirates Ninian > what ever cardiff's new ground is called Burnden > Reebok Baseball Ground > Pride Park Ayrsome Park > Riverside Filbert St > Walkers English football has lost part of it's history and with it it's soul with the loss of these grounds to be replaced by souless bowls, not football "grounds" many fans of other clubs who visited The Dell loved it because it was DIFFERENT , it had character, football grounds now are like Barratt homes legoland identikit grounds all built the same, a lot of sterile atmospheres, and football going experience is much the worse for it. stuff the comfy seats, who wants to sit down anyway. if i had a time machine i'd never go to modern football, i'd spend my weekends on the Milton Road terrace.
  12. I would say as a traditionalist i would have been happy with a new stadium if we had gone for one with a bit more character and identity, instead of the IKEA new ground copy of various other dull efforts, but all things considered it is a blessing that we can get crowds of up to 32k, and still generate a top atmosphere in what is a dull "modern" surroundings. hard to say where we would be in the leagues, QPR went up last year getting crowds of 17k in an old ground.
  13. thanks for your input officer
  14. yes that's right, take the police away and the millwall fans would have just come across the netting to shake hands. Completely clueless post.
  15. Ok mate, just wondering, i can't get the time off, but might go by coach on national express they have one back to Heathrow leaving Cardiff just gone 11pm. Would get me home about 3am, tempted but will think about it for a couple of weeks.
  16. he clearly hasn't got a clue and giving the police more credit than they're worth as they are the police. There is no viable reason.
  17. will you still be in london then mate?
  18. 100% I reckon, we won't take that many midweek, and even if we get close to selling out it won't be until they've been on general sale for a while.
  19. Ticket Details announced http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2443832,00.html Bit out of order that it is so much cheaper to go in the family bit, can't see to many kids going to Cardiff on a Tuesday night. 2000 tickets in total, will be good to take quite a few and i'm sure we will if we are still doing well in the league, another new ground to do in the quest for completing the 92.
  20. when you say you opted for the corner anyway i was including the corners in the definition of the kingsland, we weren't trying to go in the centre blocks. still if it is getting close to being full in that stand then good news, maybe we sold a few more after month end when people were paid.
  21. yeah i'm only joking, it will be a small crowd with 2 league home games just before, for some reason i've got a good feeling about this cup this season, if we can get through this tie (and watching Charlton struggle at home to Sheff wed the other night it is definitely possible even with a weakened side) then hopefully draw Aldershot or Rochdale at home in the 4th round we could soon find ourselves in the 1/4 final. I love a good cup run so fingers crossed. £14 a little steep. Should be a tenner or some money off for season ticket holders and kids for a quid to get the crowd in.
  22. My mate got tickets at the end of last week and said no problems getting in kingsland, plenty of choice, but I can’t blame people for holding on to their money and buying nearer the game. It has been three weeks since the last home game though, and people will be back from holidays now so would be good to get a big crowd in. If Forest can bring a couple of thousand down I reckon we could get to 27k, the following week v Birmingham will be much smaller with it being on a Sunday I reckon. Am I the only one who is disappointed that we don’t seem to be recognising the fact we are in the Carling Cup 3rd round? The game is two weeks today yet it does not feature in the fixture list and no ticket news announced. Charlton play Preston next Tuesday so maybe they are waiting for that to be completed first.
  23. well said, it is complete and utter rubbish, they know exactly what they are doing. Back in May 2010 they rejoiced at the news southampton had appointed a nationally funded "banning order officer" to specifically target giving bans to "risk" supporters, they have to do something to keep this chaps figures up, can't have a lack of banning orders or incidents to make it look like he is no longer needed......
  24. that is a good deal, can't complain with that, the £275,000 straight in the bank, he already has 7 appearances inc cup, i'm sure he will get to 45 fairly quickly as 46 league games plus carling cup, JPT, and chance to get through early rounds of the FA Cup they could end up playing 50-53 odd games easily. He has already got 7 appearances. and i reckon they could get promotion in the next two seasons, that would make it £445,000 decent money on top of the £12M for Chamberlain.
  25. Which ones? I might sign up, assuming the players aren't going with them good chance for some hankypanky with some wags in a tribal mud hut.
