  1. i reckon quite a few tickets will be shifted as the week goes on, and on the day of the game, quite a few fans realise that with no chance of a sell out they can leave their decision until nearer the day of the game and make more of a spur of the moment decision, weather etc. being on sky does mean some will decide to keep their £27 in their pockets for another game. i am surprised saints don't make a bit more of an effort to drum up support and fill the ground.
  2. i see the skates are charging Brighton £30 for that shlthole and have given them over 3000 tickets, hopefully we get the same, but don't know how they get away charging those prices.
  3. a lot of you are so biased in view of saints you are incapable of seeing from the outside many will not see us as contenders for the championship, i mean with the current squad west ham have with allardyce in charge they are obvious favourites, midfield of Parker, Nolan ., matt taylor, is better than ours. My spurs mate went to Brighton on saturday and was very impressed with them and their support, i can see them being as high as us if not higher again.
  4. Blades, whose ground in close to the station, are home to Brentford that day. chesterfield are home to stevenage anyone going up via Doncaster will be sharing the train with west ham who are going up there.
  5. He sounds like a bit of a (0ck to be honest
  6. havng a roof on it to be fair makes that a great end for making noise, listened to the skates v norwich game on the radio coming back from plymouth and i think norwich had the whole end, made loads of noise. can i be the the first to request the entire saints following to go in full father chrismas costume, not just those stupid hats but the full suit, hat, massive beard. that way if there is any fence shaking they'll have no idea who is who and the photo fits in the echo will be comical.
  7. Better pricing - fundamentally best selling point, they also had them on sale during the run in to the season which allowed them to cash in on the feelgood factor of a winning team and promotion. Thought about going to their first game v spurs on Saturday to do the ground
  8. 14.5 isn't bad, but would be nice to match Brighton's 18k to be best supported club on south coast.

    No Socks !!

I have bought socks in the past for wearing in my 5-a-side games, no excuse for them not having them until the end of August, thought it was bad last year when they sold out of the sash shirt not to get any more in for weeks and weeks, by which time they must have missed out on quite a few potential sales.
  10. As others have said he is definitely a character, sort of legend papa waigo could have become for us. Top song as well shame saints are incapable of coming up with songs like this
  11. Apparently on 6-7k there, disappointing for such big opponents but not surprising with costs involved. Saints should definitely have given a free ticket with each season ticket to get people down there buying them, instead you got a £1 parking charge with each season ticket instead.
  12. Of 6 mates who I know have got them half are missing so far, not a big sample granted but does seem like a lot have the wrong ones, bit of a cock up.

    Oslo blast

Terrible scenes, was in Norway for pre-season 2007 loved the place and people, although there was a small Somalian ghetto in central Oslo wouldn't be surprised if some of it was planned from there
  14. Cortese didn't just save us. he founded the club, or that is what people will beleive in the future once he has renamed all the stands. looking forward to the Ted Bates trophy tomorrow.
  15. i don't care if you believe it or not, but the bills are "charged to the club"
  16. how much did the business make last year?
  17. i agree it is just as bad as the players, f*cking mental £11,500 a week running a 3rd division football club.
  18. you lot crack me up, on one thread justifying the high costs of saints as "you've got to pay for it if you want premier league football" and on this one justifying Cortese's sky high wage, he puts nearly all his expenses through the club including his wife's manicures so all that cash is sitting nicely in the bank. One of the reasons i can't be bothered with it anymore and haven't renewed my season ticket, football fans treated like mugs and roll over happy to keep paying out whatever it costs
  19. i preferred the days when it was 1-11 with one sub who was number 12.
  20. good point, with the school holidays starting this week, i know of friends and family personally who haven't received their's yet and are off on holiday in a few days time, which means it will leave them a couple of days to sort out before Leeds. Bit of a mess the club should be putting that on the front page of it's website to alert fans and ask the echo to mention it
  21. that is very strange, would almost be understandable error if they had just given first few games, but the middle ones doesn't make any sense at all. you should complain they might give you a free replica shirt as an apology
  22. away tickets going on sale became a running joke last season for those of us who go regularly, quite often going on sale at short notice and the monday after a home game virtually forcing us to buy online / over the phone with the £3 tax rather than being able to buy them at the window hopefully they will go back to putting them on sale well in advance again to allow time to pop down the ticket office at a home match to buy them
  23. i think the club would have seen higher ticket sales if they had sold season tickets back in May / June, as it is people have just forked out for a season ticket might see this game as a bit much so soon. especially if they are also paying out for expensive replica kits for the nippers
  24. but there is no better example of "how to buy a football club" through a dodgy investment company to hide ownership than the skates who have perfected the art of moving dirty money around and not paying taxes only to pass the problem on to another dodgy owner
  25. absolute fact that a few weeks ago Beattie was in the Pensioners pub off Bedford place and said if the opportunity was there he would love to return to saints, he also referred to the club as "we" etc and bought my mate a pint after chatting to him.
