  1. I am sure they were knocking it down!! that is why i went to their game v MK Dons!! haha oh well, it is interesting that we are only a cat B game they clearly don't see saints as a big draw http://www.theposh.com/page/MatchdayPrices/0,,10427,00.html and long may that continue to keep the prices down (skates are cat B as well)
  2. we are in a position to compare saints to other clubs though as we have access to their prices and marketing, saints do not appear to want to appeal to supporters with the same enthusiasm as other clubs with plenty of seats to fill. Fair enough they must be confident that we are going to have a good season and the fans will queue up to hand the money over. I've not renewed, but have had enough of it all to be honest. Probably do more away games.
  3. more like someone without a brain, he said he would be happy to pay a premium phone number just to find out season ticket prices, and would pay double than the price being asked now - he is asking to be ripped off!!
  4. you are comparing us to Chelsea and Man City, he was pointing out we have just been runners up in the 3rd division, don't get carried away with "success" as for Man City, i know they offer some very good ticket prices especially for young and older fans
  5. I liked the old days when the extent of our foreign signings would be a scandinavian "english style" pro.
  6. The fact that they have such a good starting 11 still is a disgrace, they should have been forced to sell anyone who they could to pay the creditors and field the youth team, that side will give us a good game and i wouldn't be surprised to lose to them, especially at Fratton park
  7. if anyone believes the players actually said those quotes they must be nuts, that was written by a marketing man like writing a cartoon narrative, Fonte "oh look isn't this lovely, the fans will love it, i can't wait to wear it"
  8. i guess the question is - is there clear signage at the car park making clear the pricing and the times?
  9. are we allowed to Boo and shout abuse like at a normal match?? only joking, all the best with it, they are a bit limited by just having a couple of nights though
  10. Wealthy Italians are big fans of the rural English gent look for casual look, barbour sells well
  11. Absolute brilliant video!!!! Great memories of that era, got to laugh at Simon charlton worried other players wouldn't know souness had left so they'd have to wait a couple of days for English papers on holiday!! Fans in the car park hilarious, they seemed embarrassed at how shlt their demo / singing was. Graffiti on Milton road, Lowe admitting he knew nothing about football, but comes across quite well at the end
  12. I'm not renewing, so that is one less.
  13. I wish we could be a joke club as well getting to European final, top half premiership finish, lovely old ground with character and season tickets that are affordable for those with lower budgets. Having said that they also have a mad chairman who I hate, that Michael Jackson statue was a mental idea.
  14. i went 2 years ago to almost every home game in their run to the final , CSKA Sofia was £5 as well, Roma £15 i prefer when clubs have empty seats they offer incentives to fill the ground rather than just try to milk more cash from hardcore regulars
  15. you can get a adult season at Fulham cheaper than at Saints.
  16. Good point. Also Reading much cheaper and in out cross over "catchment" area. Fulham Europa league tickets £5 for Adults Saints Carling Cup v Torquay £14 for Adults
  17. Don't know why i'm bothering to respond to this, but the people you call whingers are customers of the club, with loyal years of repeat purchasing, who want to go through the simple act of buying a season ticket. The club seem determined to make this as difficult as possible and questions should be asked as to why they do this. Is it just incompetence, are they so cash rich that they are completely complacent in the service they provide, or do they just not care.
  18. Matthew Le God has clearly never worked in sales & marketing. If you have a product you want to sell, you make your market aware and promote it to maximise sales. If you assume that everyone knows, yet offer a 2 week period it does not follow that your market will neccessarily all go out of their way to hunt down and buy the product. I look at other clubs who's mailing lists i am on. emails, detailing dates on sale (for long periods of time) , costs etc, clearly set out and making it easy to make the purchase.
  19. what was the last ground you went to where the whole ground say and made a decent atmosphere? i can't think of one.
  20. I sat in the Chapel a couple of times last year and quite enjoyed it, being able to spread out and was laid back, but the atmosphere was dreadful, i don't just refer to singing but even the slightist shout of encouragement stood out amongst the silence, i would encourage anyone who does go in there to be more vocal and it might rub off on the rest
  21. Interesting you say that, I work with someone who moved over from Germany, lives in Bracknell, went to a couple of Reading games and was on their database, the marketing sent out by them highlighting the early deals to be had buying season tickets has resulted in him buying one for him and one for his son.
  22. would it not cost you a fortune to get from Switzerland to Dusseldorf though? i can't see how that would be viable? you would have to virtually travel the length of Germany.
  23. Young Boys v Basel would be an excellent game to do, watching the game last year of YB v Spurs in champs league qualifiers it was one of the best atmosphere i've seen if you get really lucky saints will play on the Friday night or saturday afternoon and you can get in both games

    Beautiful South

For ideas on content I reckon dig out a few old copies of the Ugly or OnTheMarch, quality fanzines that were proper fans viewpoints and humour rather than the usual dull stuff competiting with the match programme. Man United used to have a good one with United We Stand. Articles considering football culture and fans movements I’d like to see more tales from the old days, especially rogue like trips across Europe in the late 70s / early 80s and some of the various good cup runs we had in that era.
