Why did Bradley Wright Phillips get a standing ovation FFS?
JRM replied to Turkish's topic in The Saints
yeah it goes: he's got loadsa loada money cortese he's on a million a year cortese he charges the ticket tax cortese but everyone still loves him because he's not lowe, cortese -
For those who care about club finances etc - annual accounts published

You have no idea what you're talking about you prat, the financials have only just been filed at companies house, therefore were only available for reading today. Steve brought this to our attention. -
not that much of a hardship, when Newcastle got promoted last year and invaded the pitch other geordies from the home end joined them in celebration, plus always could leave 5 mins early and sneak into the away end through the open exit gates, better than not being there at all

Tickets have been on complete open general sale for this for ages, you could have called up and bought as many for this as you like, no requirement for being a season ticket holder or even on the database, so sorry if you haven't got a ticket but really just got yourselves to blame. i hope we do get promoted at Plymouth or Brentford, would be great to do it in front of our loyal travelling support.
-
it is still a smaller crowd than I'd expected, we would have got that earlier in the season for a less significant fixture, I had expected the run in attendances to be getting up towards 25k+ , Bristol Rovers should being a couple of thousand away fans so I will be disappointed if we don't get over 25k for that one.

the only one i can think of Turkish is Fulham who sing Al Fayed oooohhhh Al Fayed ooooohhh he wants to be a Brit and QPR are shLt but then Fulham's support is dreadful with a complete lack of terrace culture and a high percentage of "new" fans I wonder how they are feeling now Fayed has told them to go and support Chelsea if they don't like the Michael Jackson statue!! Cortese is a control freak, i wouldn't put it past him naming a stand after himself if we get promoted. -

The players on the pitch are putting the ball in the net, playing the through balls and defending bravely, traditionally we as "supporters" are there to cheer them on. Cortese is sat on a padded seat picking up a nice amount of cash and hasn't shown me any reason whatsoever why I should give him any recognition, he has made some good decisions but also some rubbish ones, verging on the bizarre earlier this season. I also think his approach to season ticket holders leaves a lot to be desired, it is clear to me they are intent on treating the fans as cash cows and will milk as much money from us as possible, the whole "we are a rich club we don't need a sponsor" was a load of b0llocks -

At the end of the day Cortese is just a business man trying to make money out of southampton football club, and you and I as fans. He is not messiah, he is not a benefactor putting in his own cash, he is an employee of the club. as Sour Mash says it is frankly ridiculous to sing about him. support / songs away from home has been much better than home games recently. -
Rochdale is another one of those games where a lot of people had bought tickets in preparation for it being a saturday game. and so will still go up for the re-arranged fixture where they may not have done if originally scheduled for mid-week. Walsall was like this where we took 1450 up there on a Tuesday. I think being a new ground for most definitely makes a difference, as we have seen on the 92 league grounds thread quite a few of us have managed to get our ground count up, this will put me on 72. would be nice to know exactly how many tickets have been sold so far, a win at orient a hopefully a few more will decide to make the journey.
-
So if the same number of home fans turn up on Saturday then we really will have more fans than them

Some banks offer sharia friendly loans, search on the net plenty of info out there about them.

For those complaining about the train fares yes it is expensive, BUT, get a railcard, there are loads of London saints who travel down for every home game, a network railcard gets you a 1/3rd off in south east region, for VFTT a family railcard gets you great discounts travelling all over the country when with kids.
-
I would be more specific and ask for a return to London with a travelcard . rather than through to Leyton, assuming you want the freedom to jump on and off the tubes and buses as you wish for various potential drinking venues.

Good work mate, what is your source? We still have to come 3100 Orient 894 Brighton 1800 Brentford 2100 Plymouth Our average would be much higher if we could have taken more to the sold out fixtures. off the top of my head sold out away games are: Bournemouth Exeter Bristol Rovers ? Brentford (will be for sure) Orient Dagenham & Redbridge Yeovil? Brighton Plymouth

I would like to know more about the u18s top of their league, if they win it and go on to play for the national title hopefully the games will be played at st marys and open to the public, would be a fantastic achievement if they won that (although would no doubt attract the attention of premier league clubs to our players!)
-
it would, but I thnk we should have at least 1500 for the promotion run in, Oldham being the smallest was understandable being a tuesday night in early January re-arranged at short notice, but the 6-0 was fitting reward for those who made the journey. Has anyone kept a record of our away numbers at all the aways this season? will be interesting to work out the average (unfortunately some of the local ones where we could have taken huge numbers like Bournemouth and Brighton we only have tiny allocations)
-
I am amazed this one is not sold out yet, with 3k going to charlton, 3k+ to Orient, ballots for Brighton and Brentford, this game is on complete open general sale and has been for a while, 2100 allocation, if anyone doesn't get a ticket they can't really complain.
-
Let's hope we do have loads up there but I reckon 1500 at the most to be honest. Helps being a new ground for most and Easter holidays but we never take that many north of Birmingham. We got lucky with a cheap hotel in Manchester, price gone up now with chelsea playing united away champions league on the same night

Sad day for Britain Sad day for journalism The feminists have won.

Forza Lazio - Irriducibili He was a good player with Bonito Carboni at Sheff Wed

and with Leeds at Millwall that day I think it's worth giving it a swerve.

that was a great goal for Kevin Moore who was a great defender for us in that era, but come on, the solo Le Tiss effort where he effortlessly drifts through their team then strokes it into the bottom corner is superb, and the chip to for his 3rd goal is brilliant lobbing the keeper the ball goes into slow motion. quite like the footage from Highfield Road as well circa 1990 good old away terrace that was.
-
Superb video, and not just for Le Tiss genius but also for some great shots of the changing face of the dell, the old Archers Pens, some rare footage on there as well like Oldham at home in the Littlewoods Cup 1990 the Milton is absolutely packed I remember being in the club shop when it was announced the gates had been locked with a queue outside and everyone started running round to the archers. Norwich at home also 89/90 season, what a hatrick that was. Middlesbrough away 1992 on there, was a mid-week game in January and probably the modern era record of least number of saints fans in the away end. I like footage of the old away end at Plough Lane as well. Brilliant.

I had a look at trains for easter weekend and because of engineering works it is recommending to go from Eastleigh, changing at FRATTON and then onto Brighton. the SKATES are at HOME that day to SWANSEA whose fans may also be travelling in the same direction as us if they come by train. could be interesting. In regards to Brighton's new ground, it sounds ******** ****. Middle of bloody nowhere with no decent pubs nearby, who wants to drink on a concourse!! F8ck that, decent pubs are a requirement near a football ground, not remotely interested in padded seats and leg room, we'll be standing anyway.

yes i saw that surprised they are playing it saturday 3pm, and there will be plenty of spurs around Liverpool st home to Stoke
