but so is £27 to watch southampton v Dagenham and Redbridge?
-
Well that article definitely sounds to me that BLACKPOOL wanted cheaper prices, that statement virtually says as much. f*ck sake saints, we should be doing as much as we can to get fans in and boost the attendance for home advantage, make the prices as cheap as possible. As much as I am looking forward to the game I doubt we will get more than 13K for this match, doubt more than 600 will travel from Blackpool

Safe Standing Bill in Parliament - template letter now attached

Quite clearly EVERYONE would benefit from the re-introduction of safe standing areas. Those that want to stand and sing can do so without the annoyance of a steward barking away in their ear all game, and those who want to sit can go into the seats and enjoy the game hassle free. Would also mean no excuses for standing in seated areas. Taking the kids? Old and find it hard to stand? this is the best outcome for you. I love going to football in Germany, with ability to stand at games proving to be very popular over there and something they have provided for in the new stadia built, I have been to Hamburg, Schalke, grounds which were used in the 2006 World Cup and they have huge standing ends which can be converted to seats for european games. Terrace tickets in Germany are also priced cheaply to keep the game affordable for average man. I'd love to turn up at st marys, go into the terrace, stand with my mates, who can move and stand with you whether or not they are season ticket holders. I am prepared to write to my MP on this, would be great if there was a template letter someone could post a link to on here that we can print, sign, and send and get as many to do this as possible. spread the word. -
Definitely a result getting a refund for train tickets for this one. in regards to your hostel stay, Don't rule out playing Newcastle in the championship next year I can see things turning ugly there with peter beardsley in charge. You could use your stay for the re-arranged fixture, hopefully they will set the new date with plenty of notice to arrange time off and get some good train deals. Likewise for the oldham game.
-
Also doesn't say if it costs anymore on the day, in which case whats the point paying a booking fee when you can turn up and get one for no extra cost ?
-
Can you buy your normal seat? its doesn't say? bit pricey really, this should have been £15 Man City did £5 tickets for their Europa league game v Salzburg last week.

Whoever this wilko is came make up a new song about his aubergines, could even adapt the old chelsea classic. Might hurt a bit more with an aubergine though.
-
I hope aubergine is some kind of code word for flare. The only produce you can legitimately throw on the pitch at football is celery. There are bound to be loads of crazy wacky saints fans at this one in Santa hats as well.
-
I was there last night, cracking gig really enjoyed it. In regards to shirts at the cricket they're not the most comfortable things to wear in the heat, I was over there for Melbourne and Sydney last time, represented saints with saints on tour st Georges cross flag on display where possible, also took it to India 2006. One thing for sure you can always guarantee a skate pops up to make a comment whenever the flag gets put up.

as things stand in our division there are still: Bristol Rovers v Bournemouth, 15:00 Exeter v Tranmere, 15:00 Swindon v Sheff Wed, 15:00 all other games in our division are off. I might go along to Oxford v Barnet, not done their new ground yet.

Well at least that is confirmed, the Jubilee line will NOT BE RUNNING. It is a farce having games on boxing day when public transport cant get you there. This makes getting to charlton even harder for anyone travelling from around London as North Greenwich station will not be open. http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/dlr-route-map.pdf Bank to Greenwich DLR takes 21 mins. Recommended route would be tube to bank and DLR rest of the way. Greenwich to Charlton 2.4 miles. Sure there will be a bus to pick up along that road.

if you're all going to hartlepool, all going to hartlepool, all going to hartlepool clap your hands. That is all.
-
I checked with eastcoast trains mate, for the tickets we've all got the refund is only an option is the service is cancelled, which is possible if the weather is bad enough to disrupt the service. Plan B at the moment Darlington v Altrincham York v Wimbledon Doncaster v Barnsley York railway museum. got a mates birthday do in london for the evening so if all games off might not travel at all. Going to be some nice contrasts in the 2nd half of this season, scramble for tickets for Brighton, Bournemouth and Brentford, and one man and his dog at Hartlepool and Oldham on tuesday nights.
-
he can f*ck right off the lazy bastard obviously wants to go xmas shopping at the weekend or put his feet up at home and watch grandstand. the forecast is NOT THAT BAD. http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/2369 get the game on and stop faffing about talking about the weather.
-
I have checked with Transport for London and they will only say Christmas engineering works / timetables will be confirmed in mid-December so I would not assume the Jubilee Line is running fully until they confirm. the other alternatives would involve buses towards Greenwich which will be running, just need to allow more time. North Greenwich tube to Charlton is 1.9 miles according to AAroutemaster. Bus route 472 goes from North Greenwich to Charlton, 20 mins bus journey http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk/user/XSLT_TRIP_REQUEST2?language=en&sessionID=JP23_3138650724&requestID=1&tripSelector1=1&itdLPxx_view=detail&tripSelection=on&command=nop&calculateDistance=1#jpmap_1 Not a long walk, along the main road (a102 blackwall tunnel approach) then woolwich road to charlton.

If the hotel has plenty of availability and can be re-booked on the day for the same price then cancel on thursday and re-book on saturday for the same price. still potential for a good night out in Newcastle, from my experience there are plenty of larger ladies available to keep you warm on a cold night!! i'm really hoping this game is on so as not to waste money on train tickets, but it isn't looking good based on the freezing temperatures quoted by Rees above

We will only get 1200 for this. Seeing as no one would have seen saints play there before and it is a bank holiday monday would be amazed if this did not sell out to season ticket holders. There will be room in the home ends, so if you really want to do this game that is an option. Really looking forward to this, another one of the 92 ticked off. Only shame is got work the next day so can't get on it in London too much. Not a lot around Dagenham so worth going to the pubs back on the district line and head up there nearer to kick off. The 2nd half the season will have even more in demand trips, 800 for Brighton on Easter weekend - could be a promotion decider. 1500ish for Bournemouth - again could be a promotion decider. 1800 for Brentford - last away game of the season on a 4 day weekend (due to Royal wedding), could be for promotion, day out in London, doesn't get much better than that

If our game at Hartlepool is called off next weekend...
JRM replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
why is it not looking likely? the 5 day forecast looks good http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/2369?&search=hartlepool&itemsPerPage=10®ion=uk unless you know something different -
it was last season, so see no reason why it will be any different this time. we wont sell out that is for sure.
-
Having seen that I'm quite confident the game will be on good stuff. Don't panic carry on with your travel arrangements and get your match tickets.
-
There really are some pathetic comments on this thread, yeah let's hope we get knocked out that's the spirit. I'd rather have a bit of hope and do a wycombe or chesterfield who have both got to the semi finals from our division in recent times. Dover away is my choice.
-
Any idea if Hartlepool have under soil heating? Would be disappointed if the game was called off having booked train tickets, plus we'd have to go back on a tuesday night again. that would be a dedication. fingers crossed we'll be ok.
-
Jaidi was absolutely knackered about 10 minutes into the second half last night, i am amazed he stayed on for the whole game as he could hardly run and by the end he reminded me of my performances in 5-a-side, it isn't his fault, a player of his age and size will struggle to play 2 games in 4 days on a large pitch, got to have Martin or Seaborne in on Saturday. Lambert still lacks movement which is a major flaw in his game, not sure what the solution is for that one.
-
Lets hope not, those days are behind me. i wont be drinking on the train up though, cups of tea all round until York I think. Don't want to peak to early. .
