We've got a problem where i am in the northam with these ****ing poncy student types who have started bringing their dopey birds with them every game, the birds spend all match on their phones not even interested and get annoyed at being knocked in goal celebrations, they spend half time giggling and hugging their each other, although i think a solution has been found, few pre-match ales and a madras pasty provides a steady flow of rotten gusts of wind in their direction which will hopefully put them off going soon.

a good selection of grounds there mate, and in a game of foreign grounds / england aways top trumps you'd definitely get extra points for moscow and to some extent zagreb, likewise with kev and his skopje and tirana, watching an idiot abroad last night i wish i could've done is israel away via jordan would've been quality, not sure if other sports can count but other top grounds i've done w&nkhede stadium mumbai england test match and MCG for boxing day ashes test deserve a mention. I'll ignore Turkish's comment as he's rarely been seen north of london on an away day let alone foreign soil !
-
how many of those as England aways Kev? England away i've only got Bratislava, Athens, Amsterdam, Berlin, Dnipro, Minsk, Turin, Einhoven (euro 2004) have seen the saints pre-season at Feyenoord, Halden, Svarstad, Halmstad. rest of the grounds as a neutral.

1) you can buy them over the phone. 2) the weather forecast for this weekend is excellent - http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/308?&search=winchester&itemsPerPage=10®ion=world&area=Winchester 3) get your son to do his homework friday night.

if he plays on saturday i am sure the fans will get behind him, i certainly will. he'll only get a boo if he bottles any challenges

if you are going to the Tranmere game, and want to get the cheap extra tickets for Oldham and Dagenham, go along to the ticket office and buy them then, will save you on the ticket tax.
-
you do not just need a season ticket holder, anyone can buy one adult ticket and can get another for half price. season ticket holders can buy extra seats for £7.50 This is good news, about time we saw some pricing incentives in a bid to drive up crowds, we know saints have the fanbase out there, but while we are languishing in division 3 there is a chance for some of the more fair-weather fans to drift away. Sat 9th - v Tranmere Sat 23rd v Oldham Tue 2nd v Dagenham we should be looking at 20k + at those prices.

Man City really is an interesting case, when you have an owner who has such obscene wealth, and throws it around on players transfer fees and wages, it is quite clear that the "buisness" will operate at a loss supported by artificial investment from the owner. On that basis, what difference does it make if the club make operating losses of £10M or £20m? Revenue from ticket sales would make such a small difference to the overall picture if would not take much for Sheikh Mansoor to offer affordable tickets in certain parts of the ground allowing the club to stay in touch with the traditional fanbase. Not sure what they are like this season, but I went to Man City v Fulham in April 2008 and it was £19 in the lower tier, cheaper than saints at the time (although that was for a bottom category game)
-
ok slightly different subject, how many foreign grounds have you done? I think i am on 33 at the moment, although i am sure there are a few i cannot remember. Rangers Celtic Lille Lyon Feyenoord Amsterdam Arena (Ajax) PSV Eindhoven Hamburg St Pauli Essen Aachen Schalke Hertha Berlin Stade della Alpi (Juventus) Sampdoria Roma Napoli Poznan Wisla Krakow MTK Budapest FK Sarajevo Red Star Belgrade Fenebache Halmstad Svarstad Halden Minsk Dnipro Barcelona Bratislava Olympic Stadium Athens

Unlikely you will get better than that now, the cheap train deals tend to go on sale 10-12 weeks before travel, so if you want the cheapest prices got to get on it quickly. The best we could get was £24 return St Pancras to Nottingham , so £55 from Southampton sounds about right. probably just as cheap to get a car load together and stay for the weekend.
-
No, obviously we haven't played there, but I have seen Brazil v Sweden and a day of the Emirates tournament Arsenal v Rangers and Athletico Madrid v PSG, so surely that still counts? I really want to sit down and add up European grounds as must be up to 40 odd i've done I reckon

"here to watch southampton, you're only here to watch southampton, here to watch southampton, you're only here to watch southampton" it sounds like the standard away allocation is 1500, which can rise to 2000. Worth bearing in mind, we will probably have a postal application for anyone who has been to 5+ away games etc so make sure you get away tickets recorded against your customer number. If we are pushing for the top 2 by then would expect loads of saints to travel without tickets anyway. http://www.footballgroundguide.com/bournemouth/

i remember my Dad taking me to a reserve game at the Dell, must've been about 1991, got there early to get some autographers and steve wood and terry hurlock fell out of a cab completely drunk, not sure if they were due to be playing that day, but goes to show.
-
I have tried finding the stats on the internet, but Chelsea away in 1992 is worth a mention, they were rubbish at the time and we played 2 mid-week games at stamford bridge close together, think the league game had a crowd of 9k and the ZDS area cup final had about 7k , figures worth knowing if you work with any chelsea fans who like to go on about what a big club they are.
-
Tickets available - http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/TicketNews/0,,10280~2174784,00.html 1400 allocation - more if needed. Should be a good away day, coincides with Halloween, we took 4000 to Orient on this same weekend last season.
-
I have done 68 out of the 92, the ones I still have left are: Stoke Wigan Preston Leicester (did Filbert St) Cardiff (did Ninian park) S****horpe Plymouth (will go this year) Dagenham & Redbridge (will go this year) Rochdale (will go this year) Peterborough (will go this year) Port Vale Chesterfield Rotherham (did Millmoor) Shrewsbury Bury Accrington Torquay Oxford (did Manor Ground) Burton Cheltenham Crewe Morecambe Lincoln Hereford so ideally I could do with saints having a season in league two to complete the set.
-
well lets just hope it goes to trial and it is held in southampton, surely there will be enough saints fans on the jury to follow the scousers example and ensure our promotion challenge continues with Barnard leading the line.
-
ok, so 3 players called up is enough to have a game postoned, we are one short. http://www.football.co.uk/plymouth_argyle/brighton_v_plymouth_postponed_rss1164429.shtml

whatever happened to Jordan Robertson?

A few weeks ago Plymouth v Brighton was postponed due to "international call ups" As we have Doble in the Welsh squad + schneiderlin how many call ups do you need for this rule to come into play?
