  1. Ignore the man who says you can negotiate with the whores in Hamburg.....they still bump up the price when you are in there! waste of time anyway, plenty of nice local girls out and about in the clubs and bars. If you are interested in football culture some good grounds to do on the way, and you might get lucky doing a couple of matches en route. There is a Hamburg fans bar just off the Reeperbahn, and St Pauli's ground is at the end of the road, interesting club shop there, pictures of the clubs support from the 70s and 80s. Berlin needs a couple of days as well i reckon. http://www.bahn.de best website for trains in Germany. No way should you try and do all those places in just 5 days though, madness. Go for longer or just stick to Germany I reckon.

    Adkins appointed

Excellent news, it is re-assuring to know that if we sack Adkins we have a very capabable caretaker manager ready to step in.

    MK on Wednesday

If AFC Wimbledon can get back into the league, or draw Franchise away in the Cup it will be a great day for football......and a game I'd probably make the effort to attend
  4. I don't think we'll win. Last year antonio destroyed their left back (that some of you idiots liked to call wotsit) but without that attacking threat i can see another 1-0 defeat.
  5. The teams with the best vocal away followings all stand. Fact. Man utd, spurs, west ham, liverpool, leeds etc. Wish our support was more like theirs. Yesterday it was completely dead, no atmosphere
  6. have you still not bothered to read the link http://www.sportsjournalists.co.uk/accreditation-details/southampton-end-ban-on-echo-and-photographers/ the ban has been lifted
  7. No offence mate, but look at the evidence. - Sun made it quite clear they would not report on Southampton until the ban of press photographers was lifted. - Cortese visits the Sun Sports editor at News International offices, confirmed by a friend of mine and a poster on here who works for the organistation - Ban is then lifted. - Perhaps Cortese's visit was to ensure that the Sun didn't gloat over this and got back to business as usual
  8. http://www.sportsjournalists.co.uk/a...photographers/ maybe the bloke who was at that meeting didnt have a clue and therefore his report back is actually a load of rubbish

    Cortese Questions

and Cortese visited the News International offices on Tuesday for a meeting with the Sun sports editor, which fits in with the decision being made either on that day or prior to it.
  10. oh dear, with pictures of our fans looking like kids from a special school i think we should go back to having photographers banned again.
  11. Anyone who wants a bit more info on the day out this is not a bad guide - http://www.footballgroundguide.com/swindon_town/ According to the guide that stratton bank holds 2100, so if we have only sold 1000 of that there will be loads of empty space on the day....... Plus, I think you can get together you can get 4 for the price of 2 "group save" on the train from Southampton to Swindon, worth checking at the station. get yourselves up there.
  12. is that from the official site? 2200 sold so far not too bad i suppose, hopefully get a few more up there on the day, it's not a far drive and tickets are cheaper than most in this division, so we should get close to 3k really It is very unlikely, but another performance like Bristol Rovers will make the journey very worth while.
  13. One of the strangest things about the Dell was how much it changed over the years, if you watch the highlights videos from 1980 - 2001 , especially the Archers Road end where they kept messing around with the pens and the fences changing the shape, it actually seems to get smaller, also forgot the random lower west / east silver benches with the other half as a terrace The programme shop on Milton Road was good. Getting chips at Teds Fish bar on Bedford Place before night games then walking down Milton Road seeing the floodlights appear. Having a pint outside the Fitzhugh Definitely best times following saints for me stood in the Archers Road late 90s - 2001 home performances on the 1989/90 season love watching the CBS FOX goals of the season video of that one
  14. yep, scored by saints legend Gregory Vignal
  15. Cortese still made the effort to visit them though.
  16. Lower East as a kid until 96-97, then Archers Road end Block 5 until the move to st marys. Atmosphere and originality of songs in the Archers much much better than what we have now
  17. i've just heard cortese is walking round the offices at st marys showing people a copy of a letter he has received commending him on his running of the club. when lowe pulled that out at the fans forums was comedy gold
  18. No one really knows what was discussed, but it is 100% that Cortese was at news international offices so you can assume the photography ban was the reason for the visit, and you would imagine some sort of agreement has been reached.
  19. Nope, I disagree. How about Reed being on the transfer committee deciding on which players we buy? and the manager of the club certainly should be allowed input on the reserves and u18s, especially if he is considering playing some of them in forthcoming 1st team matches
  20. I wonder if these will even be reported on? There used to be quite a few who would go along to staplewood to watch the home games, it would be a shame that stopped.
  21. Exactly mate, some of them are absolutely pathetic. Bitter. Probably just crying about no one ever listening to them. "he doesnt speak for me...blah blah" fact is Nick has been a face at saints games for years now and his dedication in following the club has lead to him getting involved in things such as fans organisations
  22. I don't know what the age range of your contributors is like, or their match going experience, but would be good to have some accounts from seasons gone by, such as the 1983-84 season when we finished 2nd and got to the FA Cup semi final , and the various European away games we had during that period. Even accounts of landmark games in our history , long train / coach trips up north stuff like that, or great cup nights at the Dell etc.
  23. talking of sponsorship and the new shirt, have they got any more stock in at the club shop or has that all been forgotten about now?
  24. there are other issues also missed off his list, like the removal of the Ted Bates trophy, re-naming hospitality suites, gagging staff from speaking to anybody about the club before checking with him first
  25. Yes mate, there are definitely are, and I think it is a real shame. We used to get excellent crowds for unattractive early rounds of the cups, kids for a quid, season ticket holder discount etc, and everyone would benefit from a bigger crowd and a improved atmosphere, just seems like the club don't care whether you turn up or not anymore
