  1. Out of interest what is the record smallest crowd for a competitive match at st marys? Think it might be Torquay last year, but between Bolton at home and a potential jpt 1st round game it could be broken
  2. I'm sure bolton of the almighty premiership will attract a big crowd of course you're right, all our glory hunters are coming out of the woodwork and i've even had requests for tickets from people who aren't saints fans! I'm pleased saints are not being like Reading and rewarding season ticket holders with reductions for low key early round cup games.
  3. Her fathers wish was to see us back in the Premiership. I would think that is now her wish, for him. We have no idea if that is the case. A football club could be hassle she could do without. Only time will tell.
  4. enough of over-pricing and rip offs. that is becoming tiresome.
  5. i think that is irrelevant, it is still a carling cup 2nd round tie against an unglamarous team unlikely to attract a decent crowd, hence demand low so attract fans with pricing iniative, this is more likely to put people off. and it doesn't matter how much it would cost to go to a game in the premiership, Arsenal charge £10 for some of their carling cup games
  6. they are ridiculous prices well off the mark. It is the 2nd round of the league cup against really unattractive opposition, will be a tiny crowd. Cortese will be rubbing his hands together as with no season tickets and a short selling period there will be plenty of ticket tax collected as well. Once upon a time we got good crowds for games like this with sensible pricing. I will be amazed if there is more than 12k for this. Compared to Reading, who have much fairer pricing, which also gives discount to season ticket holders http://www.readingfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10306~2120531,00.html starting from £7 for an adult. we could have got close to 20k with pricing like that in the school holidays
  7. hahaha that sums up a lot of the posters on here, good post
  8. any idea how many they have actually sold? if they bring 4k then fair play, that is the same as almost their entire home support, still dont think the attendance will be more than 16k
  9. We really do have some utter w&nkers as fans. Cortese will one day realise that he is not the club, neither are the players or the stadium. The fans are the most important thing and without them there is nothing. It has been apparent for some time now that the club are making no attempt to hide their contempt for the fan base and see it as nothing more than a revenue sponge to squeeze. Football culture is quite distinct in the relationship between a business and its customers, and having fans tied in with the operation of the club is an essential part of that. I'm not at all surprised by the 'i'm alright jack' posters on here, usual suspects many of whom wont be seen travelling the length of the country home and away. cortese clearly thinks he can just censor anyone who disagrees with him, and use his 'power' to carry out petty vendettas. It would be nice if saints fans stuck together a bit more and there is nothing wrong with questioning the decision making of our club. It doesnt mean the club have to listen, but they should not be suprised when fans then show resentment.

  12. This thread really does make me laugh. All you lot arguing against stu, just because its him, when it is clear as day what he is saying is right. The club have made NO EFFORT whatsoever to attract new season tickets holders, and have actively made it harder for existing ones to renew. Why they have done this baffles me. What is undisputable, if the club wanted to increase sales there are very cheap very easy ways of marketing available to them. Lets take fulham as an example. I am on their database having been to a couple of european games last season. They have emailed me 3 times with info of season tickets, when on sale, how to buy, cost, attractive marketing which very easily hits a potential sales base. They also have a mailing with brochure and advertising at train stations in south west london. Saints on the other hand have gone out of their way to delay details and a short renewal period, no marketing, i can't see how anyone can disagree the club just don't want more season ticket holders. This is bad for all fans. The atmosphere at st marys is bad enough the last thing we need is more empty seats. As said before, support is more than just financial, we would benefit more as a club with packed stands making a bit of noise.

    Pre season

Usual made up responses from people on here who actually know nothing, we did not start early last year because of the world cup! Season started 8th august last year, starting 7th august this year so no difference in preparation time, la bois saint is spot on, this is more due to the fascination the club now has with delaying announcements on anything or not announcing anything at all. Only 3 1st team friendlies planned with 1st one on 27th july is not normal!
  14. What disappoints me most reading through some of this thread is how many saints fans seem to enjoy gloating at others and patronisingly telling them 'not to get one if you can't afford it'. Fans contribute more to supporting a team than just money, and we would benefit far more from a full house and intimidating atmosphere than a few extra quid from the ticket tax. Saints should ensure a certain percentage of tickets are kept at affordable prices to ensure to core support who have followed the club down the years an still attend, installment plans was a good way of doing this. If our attendances drop it will be to the detriment of our club and ruin what was already a declining match day atmosphere.
  15. Just a quick note on this as a comparison, i have attended games as a neutral at a few clubs in doing which i registered on their websites to buy tickets. Birmingham city, coventry, fulham and arsenal have all sent me automated emails, with special mention for fulham who have emailed 3 times pushing season ticket sales offering incentives and making the process easy. They also had adverts for season tickets in programme at uefa cup semi and at woking train station and others in south west london. That is a sign of a club who are actively trying to attract season ticket holders. We couldn't be more different.

    Saints fans jailed

I can't believe some of the smug cu'nts on here taking great enjoyment in a group of fellow saints fans being stitched up by the police / government conspiracy. The police deliberately let the skates out at the same time. They then sat back at filmed rubbing their hands knowing it would kick off and thanks very much those convictions will earn them another season of cushty overtime. All the best to the lads involved, none of them deserve a custodial hopefully they and their families will be ok. It disgusts me the saints fans will be entering prison passing rapists, muggers at peados on their way out on early release. This country has its priorities all wrong.
  17. they have got away with it then? good new manager, CVA, no points deductions, still have some top international players, utter disgrace.
  18. Well done to Stu on the work done here in exposing this, in my opinion things have not been right about the season ticket details and the warning signs were there in march / april with the ridicuous delay in announcing the details, which has been followed by minimul advertising, no renewal forms (my dad would not have known as never uses saints website, there must be a lot of older fans just like that) and the sly use of booking fees, all in all it is very stange behaviour from a business that claims to value its customers
  19. unbeatable mate. Was looking at the pics the other day, happy days. I wonder what our mate the echo photographer is up to nowdays! ?
  20. As an interesting comparison to this england are playing hungary at wembley in august, cheapest tickets for england members are £15, there is a £2.50 booking fee for total order. Cheaper to watch england than saints in the 3rd division.
  21. very well put mate, this is how i feel, only missed a handful of games last year and i get the feeling its those of us who go regularly are most aggrieved, its the others who stay at home and post on match threads who seem to think the charges are great. The one word that springs to mind with cortese's policy here is exploitation. Despite the inconvenience i'll pay on the day for midlands and northern away games this year just to avoid the ticket tax. Ticket office operating costs should be factored into to running costs of the company and just included in ticket prices.
  22. If only the le tiss consortium had been successful we would be attracting players of this quality now! Ok maybe not, but does show it would be a good move for cortese to have him onboard to help attract players.
  23. very well said, exactly how i feel mate
  24. I agree with the opening the post. The rest of you can continue applauding being charged more money. NC should at least have had the decency of just increasing the ticket price by £3 rather than the ridiculous add ons. Where possible pay on the day away from home so they dont get the £3 just for the privilidge of sending you a ticket. can't believe others can't see THE CLUB ARE TAKING THE ****
  25. dont know how you equate poor customer service and arrogant approach to treating fans as all rosy. and almost certain lower crowds, and mates who wont be there and paying £3 just to book a f*cking ticket to go to an away game. not very f*cking rosy from where I am sitting.
