I'd actually say fans backed him and got onboard with it all despite having reservations. Alarm bells were ringing for me when Swansea fans didn't seem at all bothered at the prospect of him leaving.

Don't be a knobhead, he got a warm reception pre season, fans turned out in massive numbers and were supportive, 3100 at Sheffield Wednesday on a Friday night singing his name, sell outs against Norwich and QPR, he's lost the fans with his nonsense.

I'm not buying that. We all lost lots of players, changed managers, clearly there is a lot of negativity and a confidence crisis within the club but stop trying to blame last season for that.

It's inevitable that Martin will start to get more and more abuse from the crowd, but we should remember he's just doing what he has been recruited to do, a lot of blame needs to be directed further up the chain. Martin wasn't looking to leave Swansea, we headhunted him. I had a bit of inside info when we recruited Nathan Jones. He was quite happy at Luton and was not looking to leave. Saints made him an excellent offer and made clear he was the one that we wanted, he certainly wasn't the cheap option paying Luton a few million to release him, like Martin it comes down to SR trying to be too clever and terrible recruitment but not all the blame can be laid at the manager and i have no confidence in the club making a good appointment to replace him. I guess the difference this time is Wilcox is involved, but questions need to be asked higher up.

To be fair to Martin his side were beaten by a well organised team motivated by Nathan Jones, no shame in losing that.

Not sure Selles would to be honest, was clueless for us. His Reading team were battered at Blackpool today and he's shown nothing to say he'd get our bunch winning.

It's quite sad really, bad decision after bad decision, Martin must have thought he had what it takes...and we all hoped at last we'd have a manager and team we can get behind. What a mess we've had since SR takeover.

I think more defensive players, I don't recall Edozie ever making a tackle or winning a 50/50 , needs to work on that side of his game

Defenders in defence and midfielders in midfield, not sure what's going on with the full backs, Holgate gets to redeem himself , I reckon we'll do a bit better today, 1-1 draw

Nah Charles will be the holding midfielder, Downes can have more freedom, i think we'll do ok if they play natural positions.

I think Russell Martin knows that , you can see in his body language it's not gone to plan and he's struggling. When he had his moan about the "angry fan in the stands behind the dugout" and the players on the bench wanting to say something, I think what he meant was he wanted to say something, hearing a few home truths from the stand and he didn't like it. Fair play to whoever that was as the questions in the press conferences don't seem to be critical enough, doesn't seem like the board are pulling him up on it so someone needs to tell it as it is.

Funny what's happened to Middlesbrough, they lost a couple of influential players from last season and don't seem to have been able to replace them. The basis of the team and manager haven't changed so always the chance they'll find that form again.
