  1. Absolutely brilliant, winning games like that with last kick of the game when 2200 fans made the effort makes it all worthwhile, hopefully do it again on Wednesday now. Overall thought we did ok today, didn't seem to get much from the ref in the physical battle but we gave it away far too easily at times need to improve on that. Onwards and upwards.
  2. Agree , as usual got to hope we actually take some of the chances created, good bet for both teams to score, likely we'll concede
  3. Let's hope the fans get a decent performance today after all the effort being made to get there.
  4. They've cancelled most trains so loads of fans are stranded
  5. Don't think we ever had any serious intentions of being promoted this season, signing a new striker after a major injury with question marks over when he'll be able to play again
  6. Tickets for us were £20 or £24 , no complaints there
  7. Interesting comments about their manager and possession for possession sake being a frustrating style of play https://www.not606.com/threads/hull-city-v-southampton.409185/
  8. You'd have thought he need a few run outs with the u21s (if overage players are allowed) before going into the first team, building up match fitness , shame as we could do with him. 3 games in a week coming up again.
  9. He is, helps out at the family business Carlo's ice cream in Wellow in his spare time
  10. It always is and is even worse for flat one sided games against minnows. Half the crowd are not there to support England, they're "premier league " fans who want to see some of the star names, not easy to get tickets at spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea so they go and watch England instead. Personally I'd much prefer them to play games around the country, better atmosphere at a 30k Wolverhampton than 85k Wembley.
  11. Did he feature at all for Argentina? I noticed Saints harvesting the social media content last week with pics of Alcaraz with Messi, good publicity but made our Charly look like he was there as a prize winner.
  12. Scotland off to the Euros this summer, you'd have thought he'll want to be playing and scoring regularly to get himself a starting place for them
  13. I was lucky enough to grow up watching him play, trying to recreate these goals in the school playground every week, he was admired by kids who supported other clubs, a true football genius , can watch this over and over again
  14. It's impressive, we'd taken maximum allocation for Hull of 2,239, looks just over 200 left hopefully we can shift a few more of those over the next week. I remember going to Hull for a big defeat around 2009 and we probably had 1/4 of that. I know some of this is due to fans wanting to visit a ground they haven't done before and we probably won't take as many next season but those numbers deserve a lot of credit in my opinion, certainly not a cheap away day and plenty of other things to spend money on at the moment.
  15. You're absolutely right, the whingeing players who didn't enjoy not being applauded for Rotherham at home need to understand that. Fanbase was galvanised and ready for the season and had the hope they'd allowed to build be deflated so early on , we'll end up with Ifs and what could have beens but ultimately they're not near the standards fans expected of them.
  16. Would be brilliant, Jack Stephens back soon as well?
  17. Some of you Neanderthals need to watch this, it's the way the game is going and we're ahead of the curve in its implementation
  18. I work on the check out at Sainsburys mate, my favourite bit is when my customers sing my name and cheer me on when I'm scanning their groceries and travel thousands of miles to see me do it.
  19. I think that's clear now. Someone who turns up and cares enough to get angry at the shite served up at the club they love = customer Someone who doesn't let drawing at home to relegation fodder Rotherham bother them as we passed the ball alot = fan
  20. And if I wasn't for the Rotherham goal keeper it would have taken even longer, he deserved two man of the match awards
  21. It does .....until you say when he last played a game of football...Big gamble to rely on him this season
  22. Think I head about 4 different songs for him yesterday, the "Morgan Schneiderlin" tune of Charley Alcaraz la, la la la la " sounded easiest to remember. Back of the Chapel one was catchy as well but didn't quite get the tune.
  23. Cheers Russ 👍
  24. Martin seems very sensitive to criticism https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/23841044.southampton-manager-martin-defends-players-criticism/?ref=socialflow&fbclid=IwAR1g40aFzuLrlyhyFiPsEi_pYQq0LhXCbJkTkUuZ-WvybrrxzCoKXgOBdrs
  25. Poor Flynn, someone book him and open top bus to drive around town tomorrow to celebrate our 80% possession win.
