  1. ABK was also playing champs league tonight
  2. Brilliant, bet it took a bit of explaining. I remember the strict questioning at Tel Aviv airport immigration on the way in, "what is the purpose of your visit to Israel" "Beersheva away mate, Southampton in Europa"
  3. Iconic stadium and one to tell the Grandkids about, shame we didn't win there missed so many chances, familiar story, no goals scored in any of the three away group games, textbook Claude 🤣 Those European tour seasons were brilliant, Hapoel Be'ersheva away was my favourite passing a camel through the desert on the way, longest distance ever for a Saints competitive fixture 👍 Going to be a long wait to do a trip like that again
  4. When is he going to be fit?
  5. Fans have been brilliant really, increased season ticket sales, turned out in huge numbers away , really got behind them at the start of the season but can see with their own eyes the way this team is going, just not good enough from Sports Republic and the manager.
  6. I think the club hugely underestimate how detached a lot of fans feel from the club / team now. A mate of mine, season ticket holder, saw the line up last night and just decided to go home instead of the game. Bit extreme but the club should be worried behaviour like that will spread as fans have had enough.
  7. Stop trying to make excuses for the useless performances, blaming the fans ffs you muppet
  8. Yeah must be the Saints fans who made the players nervous at Sunderland, get a grip
  9. Just waiting for him to claim he compromised and this isn't his team
  10. Looks like boycott has started judging by the number of fans in the ground
  11. Rushed out of work, train down to Southampton, see that line up and think he's got to be taking the piss. No balance, no tackles in midfield once again , defeat on the way
  12. Lol fuck sake what a waste of time
  13. I actually think the fans were excellent against Norwich despite the set backs ,QPR a bit of frustration began to show but still got behind the team so it's only really the Leicester game where "negative fans" were audible which is hardly surprising watching the mess on the pitch masquerading as our football team. Sunderland away the players wouldn't have heard negative comments as we were stuck well out the way in the upper tier and most fans just left early rather than criticise.
  14. You need to channel your inner Buddist , if the fans are good to Martin then good things will happen to us. If you bring your negative energy with you then don't be surprised when negative things happen.
  15. Agree, all whilst seeming quite smug that he knows best and its the players and fans who have to go on a journey of discovery to understand his vision (which takes a lot of time as its so groundbreaking and revolutionary)
  16. Fair play to him for not taking the easy path in life! When did we last have a spiritual manager who believed in karma? Glenn Hoddle ?
  17. I'm still rolling on the floor laughing about his comments about Bazunu and how we'll have to keep him grounded when he has a few clean sheets and everyone starts calling him the best keeper in the league
  18. Which get punished due to the tactics resulting in defensive players being miles out of position when we lose the ball
  19. United jogging around with minimal effort to win the ball though, very poor from them.
  20. Downes will be out injured for a few games from the sound of it
  21. That's a completely disjointed team, zero presence in midfield, 5 players who primarily focus is attack, we'd be overrun and concede a few. Charles in for Edozie I think (don't think I've ever seen Edozie successfully make a tackle)
  22. Taken from an Ipswich forum, you'd have thought if we can see it and their fans can see it, then Martin has no excuses for not being prepared "I think it’s perfectly set up for us. They’ll fanny about with it at the back which will suit our high press. They’ll look to dominate the ball and s..l..o..w..l..y move up the pitch in numbers, which will suit our break. We can be clinical with not much of the ball and few chances. Still won’t be easy of course, but I’m quietly confident and looking forward to it."
  23. Ha not quite, crying at the final whistle etc
  24. Exactly, got to remember most of these fans have sat through shite performances at St Mary's game after game in the last few years, patience is limited as Martin and this group of players have yet to earn much goodwill. I remember fans singing "sacked in the morning" to Ralph and "Nathan Jones your football is shit" , a couple more games like Sunderland and Leicester and Martin will be given the same treatment
  25. Not just a little bit out is it, it's so unbelievably bad it stands out above all other stats, comfortably the WORST defensive record in the WHOLE FOOTBALL LEAGUE, should be a real source of embarrassment to the manager and coaches and force a change in approach yet somehow I think they still "believe in the process" and we'll see more of the same
