  1. Brilliant thread guys. Made me laugh quite a few times, and even prompted me to join in and say hello (instead of my usual "standing on the outside looking in"). Dream team from the start of my Saints-supporting days: bugenhagen:
  2. Now I can finally relax and enjoy the final hours untill the window shuts. Great signing - wasted a lot of time at work over the last few weeks following this tread. About time I conributed to it... And yes, I woted "no" (was in a dark place at the time). Now bring on the pie! Saint Gaston!
  3. I have resisted looking at the table until the final whistle is blown and my shorts are off! What a night! COYR!
  4. Chamberlain had 11 at the time De Ridder joined. Seem to remember Steve said he wanted nr 11, but because AOC had it at the time, he went for another "double" number (33).
  5. Cheers Phil, that put a smile on my face and solutionoriented as well!
  6. Saints 1st Half Team: Davis. Richardson, Fonte ©, Seaborne, Dickson. Chamberlain, Cork, Schneiderlin, Lallana. Guly, Lambert
  7. I do agree NickG, I just thought Saint Lard made a good, clear and unbiased point in this discussion. As everyone here I wish we had taken a few more points so far, but as it stands, I believe it will be very hard for other teams than Brighton to finish above us at the end of the season (based on what we have done since Adkins arrived).
  8. Exactly! Doesn't matter that Adkins finishes the season with one piont more than all the other managers gunning for 2nd since he took over. He was appointed to promote us/win the whole thing, and he inherited less points and must also make up for this to complete his job.
  9. I see what you mean, but I think signing Lallana, Guly and Chaplow has just sustained our squad based on how all the teams have got the points they now have. Had we lost them, we would have weakened our squad. And Charlton has strengthened based on the team that got them their points (assuming they haven't lost someone significant).
  10. Thanks for the tip about emailing the club - they sorted me out, very helpful. So now it's both United and Exeter!
  11. Cheers. Flying to London on the friday with a mate, and will probably take the bus down to watch the FA-cup in one of the Southampton pubs on saturday (might be just as fun) as it is difficult to get two tickets with my costumernumber. Just see what happens. Got pretty cheap flights and hotel, so will stay in Southampton until the Exeter game where I booked seats on the bus that goes from St.Mary's. I was planning a trip over in January/February for a Saturday/tuesday combo anyway, and when we drew Utd in the cup I thought I'll give it a try (I know, a bit "plastic" but I usually attend two games pr season for the last 4 years, so I'm ok with that But, the Exeter game is the one I am really looking forward to. New ground, standing in the terraces with the awaysupport. A new and different experience. Going to St.Mary's was very special and important the first few times I came over, but now I have even played there myself so now it is more exciting to see Saints away. Different stadiums and places. My favourite game is probably when I wathced the reserves a couple of seasons back at Staplewood - just because it was so different. And in regards to the domestic season here in Norway, you are right. The only problem is that, sadly, I do not have a team I am as passioned about in Norway as I am about Southampton, so I guess I am forever an awaysupporter (and we are not as noisy as you are/good atmosphere at our games here in Norway, so I't is not as much fun going over here).
  12. Coming over from Norway for this one. Really looking forward to joining our great awaysupport for the first time! Only been sat with the homesupporters when watching Saints away in the past.
  13. Lambert did put his header wide, but Hammond had the header Kingsland Codger is talking about (watched the highlights last night...)
  14. First translated by Google, and then by me : "Claus Lundekvam (37), former national player for his country and pro in English club Southampton, has had tough years behind him. Now he gets help for his problems on Tony Adams' clinic - Sporting Chance Clinic - in England. Lundekvam was last year sentenced to community service after driving with alcohol in his blood, and has struggled with alcohol and drug abuse, it emerges in an interview with the Norwegian TV-channel TV2. May 17 he decided to seek help, and let himself into the clinic. - Misguided - I was misguided and in a black hole for some time, where I saw no way out. I booked a flight to Rio de Janeiro and felt that the whole world was after me. I just wanted away, I wanted to escape, I wanted to destroy myself, "said Lundekvam in an interview on TV 2 on Tuesday night. - But I knew that it would kill me. Because this would have killed me. I give 100 percent no matter what, even when it comes to drugs, "said Lundekvam, who admits having used both alcohol and cocaine in order to" fill a gap, "as he calls it. He also says he was hospitalized twice and was starting to get heartproblems on one occasion. - I took it to extremes. Now Claus Lundekvam looks on the brighter side of life. - I can talk about it, I'm here and I get help. It is heavy, but I'll get through. The centreback went from Brann to Southampton in 1996. He made around 420 appearances for Southampton - just over 300 in the Premier League. Support from Semb He also had 40 caps for Norway, most of them under former manager Nils Johan Semb. - Claus ended up in a difficult situation. The positive is that he has taken a step, and is under treatment, "Semb told Dagbladet. Semb thinks it helps that Lundekvam is open with his problems. - It's a long and tough road, but openness is a good sign. There are some others who have been in the same situation. But there are many professional football players, and only a few that end up in trouble, "he said. - For Claus sake, I hope he gets himself out of the problems. He is getting good help, "said Semb."
  15. Claus was just on Norwegian telly. Checked in on the "Tony Adams clinique?" in the middle of May. He was talking openly about going into a dark place when his career ended. Needed a substitute for the footie. Started to drink heavily and doing drugs. Honest interwiew, had some difficulties talking about it. Close to tears at the end of it when thinking of what sort of man he had been in this period.
  16. Good luck all! Enjoy the night! Had a great time last year. A real shame I am unable to come over from Norway this time around (but going to South Africa in a couple of weeks will help ease the pain ). Away team!!! (just remember that the game is 90 mins, not 85 like last year)
  17. Fantastic! Hope I can get over to be there!
  18. They cross over in the corridor today. The home dressingroom is on the right side, and they line up on the left side of the corridor. Don't know why, but seems like the club wants to play towards the Northam first half...
  19. Ice in hell and all that, but a sweet dream... Love it! Would give Prutton a second chance based on Arizonas arguments. (I allways seem to agree with you on players, allthough I don't post that much, but I read a heck of a lot ).
  20. It was indeed changed. I also read "bought SLH and its assets", and now it doesn't say anything about SLH in that sentence.
  21. Ooooh... Just love them. They just don't make 'em like they used to... Feel a bit flashy and posh comig in my nearly worn out Adidas Copa Mundial that has been used for three seasons.
  22. Hey, I'm flying in from Norway for this game - I must be a star;) Thats why Saints sent Liptak home early, to have a look at a Norwegian prospect. A central defender who is 31 and fits into boysized shorts must be perfect for the english game!
  23. Cheers, I'll check with him! I am smaller than an extra large boy;)
  24. Hi all, hi coach, hi awayteam! I think this is my first post on the forum match treads. Not been too vocal on here, but "he starts posting when he needs something". I am one for getting things done in the last minute... so suprise, suprise, I have no away shorts... As I am living in Norway, there are not too many Saints Megastores around... Does anyone have a spare? Or would someone be kind enough to pick one up for the Norwegian lad if they are still in stock? Any help greatly appreciated (that must surely be the wrong way to spell it, but anyway...), and I'll pay up in cash (preferably behind som shady dumpster on the outskirts of Southampton ) when I come over. PS. my size is prob small, but I'll slip into just about anything (shortswise )
