  1. Classic Saints Fookwit forum thread.
  2. England a bowler short. Don't see the point in playing an extra batsman if it's Bell. Might as well play another bowler who can bat a bit.
  3. He's already won it. Don't think many people win it twice.
  4. Voted fo Cavendish but knew he stood no chance. To be fair to Giggs he is playing some of the best football of his career and was voted player of the year. This along with 11 league titles, 4 fa cups and 2 champions league winners medals probably swung it for him. Would rather him win it than someone who drives a fast car.
  5. Is it just me that thinks Claridge comes across as a nice bloke who seems to praise Saints alot and knows alot about the game unlike alot of pundits.
  6. Dirty Leeds Portsmuff Bolton Blackburn Liverpool Manure Spurs Derby Rangers Reading MK Dons (Franchise Utd) Real Madrid Newcastle
  7. you could live in Portsmuff, Southampton, Plymouth, London, Exeter, in the sea... etc and still be clueless.......
  8. not getting relegated(despite your predictions) with a club punching above their weight perhaps?
  9. Paul Sturrock's managerial career Team From To Games Won Lost Drawn Plymouth 27-11-2007 Present 100 28 50 22 Swindon 07-11-2006 27-11-2007 52 26 15 11 Sheff Wed 23-09-2004 19-10-2006 104 35 40 29 Southampton 04-03-2004 23-08-2004 13 5 6 2 Plymouth 31-10-2000 04-03-2004 178 85 46 47 Dundee Utd 05-09-1998 07-08-2000 85 27 39 19 St Johnstone 01-08-1993 05-09-1998 197 90 51 56 I'd say that's not a bad record for a manager who has managed clubs on limited budgets.
  10. Thomas would be a better option defensively at right back and leave James in midfield where he is better.
  11. England have a pretty poor record in penalty shoot out in competitions so any help would be welcome. Ideally if it comes around again the following players should be good enough to step up and succeed. Lampard Gerrard Barry Rooney Beckham
  12. Another manager loses his job afer having to sell his best players. Despite Dulldays hatred and lack of knowledge of him, i rate Sturrock as a decent manager who has had more successess than failures at clubs. Saints actually played some great football under him with great displays and exciting football from a young side. Happy memories of away wins at Wolves and Man Citeeh and home games v Liverpool and Newcastle spring to mind. I personally wish him all the best in whatever he does and with his battle with parkinson's disease.
  13. Doh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Paul Merson's got nothing on you.
  15. Proof? or facts to back this up?
  16. It would take too long to qoute all the posts when you have been proved wrong.
  17. Seeing as your wrong on most things regarding rating players and writing them off etc then Owen will get into the squad. If England get a last minute chance to win a game i know who i would want to take it and it would not be Darren Bent or Carlton Cole etc.
  18. Pretty decent goal scoring record for England. 89 games and 40 goals.
  19. Green James Foster Johnson Brown Ferdinand Terry Lescott Jagielka Cole A Lampard Gerrard Barry Beckham Carrick Lennon Walcott Cole J Milner Rooney Owen Crouch Defoe
  20. The few times i've watched Citeeh this season Bridge has had no help what so ever from left midfield and been exposed as a result. Robinio/Bellend Bellamy etc are not helping him and if he's not careful he wont be going to the world cup as there are a few left backs pushing for his squad place.
  21. I think most people recognise Phil Taylor as a great champion and sporting legend. Also thought Bradley Wiggins should have been nominated after his heroic efforts in the Tour de France.
  22. It was always unlikley they would do anything but once again FIFA demonstrate their support for fair play then???? just hope they don't make a big fuss and show lots of fair play banners/flags at the world cup finals next year as they will look a bit stupid.
  23. Remember Ron doing pictures of Saints players in the 70's and i collected these and got them signed by Terry Paine at my local newsagent in Sholing at the time. God knows where they are now and wish i'd kept them.
  24. I doubt Mellis will start unless there are injuries. AP is likely to keep faith in the players who have played in recent winning games.
  25. If the team AP inherited was top 6 then how come they had a poor start?
