Thing is though he's never scored many goals throughout his career. Doubtless there's a degree of truth in the he's too intelligent for our insipid midfield theory but he can't have always been playing with less intelligent players, and he's got a career average strike rate of roughly 1 goal in every 5 games which is roughly what he's scored for us (9 goals in 40 appearances).
-
Yeah but he's always making amazing runs and that which our midfield can't pick out or something.
-
As others have intimated - what a complete load of old ******.
-
I totally understand it. Personally I take a photo of myself and post it on the internet at least once every 10 minutes because it's really important to me that people have the opportunity to see how much fun I am having or not having, and I'm really not sure how I got through life before social media came along and gave me the opportunity to do this.
-
Agree but this situation certainly wasn't one of them. Powderpuff effort that would've easily been saved by the keeper had the defender not intervened.
-
It was. Instinctive rather than crafted, but deliberate none the less.
-
Melt Long into Austin and you have exactly what we need. A mobile striker who scores goals.
-
Benteke looks spectacularly **** it has to be said. A confident striker in his skin would have definitely scored at least once today. Oh well, just TF we met the striking equivalent of Forster and move on.
-
YEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! GTFI. We'll be ok if we keep that up, no doubt.
-
Bring back Tadic

Looking worryingly like last week. We score and it's the trigger for the oppo to start playing well and us starting to look ****e.
-
It's not absolutely crap but it isn't very good. Most worrying is when we're on top we don't create enough. This is similar to last week so far in that we are the better side but not really creating much. Won't be surprised if the result ends up the same.

eplsite working. just type in eplsite and select our game

Working on the premise that no-one is going pay close to his current wages and take him on permanently let alone actually pay a fee for him as well, a loan deal would be the only realistic option. If so I'd be interested to know what our minimum terms were. It would arguably be better to let him go for nothing in the hope that he actually played well ,got his confidence back up and established some resale value. As it is he just sits there without the opportunity to do any of that. Regardless, what an expensive mess this is and that 1 year extension which was perplexing at the time now looks utterly utterly mental.

Will Hughes plays for Watford.

A depressing and accurate appraisal of where we are. Jesus, the good times seem so brief now they’re gone.
-
Personally I’d have hopped, skipped AND danced for more points. Forward roll, Arab spring whatever it takes.
-
Possibly, but if we’re apportioning blame for errors leading to goals Cedric and Vest are way ahead of McCarthy.
-
Wise wordz indeed Charlie. Pal.
-
Not certain anyone is “hitting the panic button” but 7 wins from the last 41 including today’s effort where victory number 8 looked very likely until - bizarrely - the second we took the lead has a few (very much including me) a tad frustrated.
-
But Gab wasn’t even on the bench. Another bad decision.
-
Me too. At that point there was not even the slightest sign that Leicester would win. They were **** and we were good. Yet it all flipped round virtually from the second we scored. I remember feeling the same when we went 2 nil up against Chelsea last season.
-
It was. Very. We were losing momentum and beginning to be overrun (yet again) in midfield. Lobbing big Charlie On was a worrying attempted solution which didn’t work. Agree though that there is f’all that Hughes can do about Hoj deciding to act the ****.
-
It’s going to be a long long season of struggling. We just don’t seem to be able to snap out of the malaise that’s set in over the last 2 seasons. It’s a familiar pattern that sooner rather later ends in relegation (Villa, Sunderland, Swansea). We needed some positivity and opening home fixtures against moderate opposition in Burnley and Leicester offered the chance to create it but we’ve blown it.
-
Just f u c k o f f. It’s like us scoring was the trigger for Leicester to start playing and for everything to fall apart. Jesus Christ 2 home games against weaker teams and 1 poxy point to show for it. Just ****ing ****, new manager same ****ing ****.
