  1. Brick walls have a habit of not allowing fires to rampage up the façades of buildings. **** modern cladding systems, give me brick outer skin, insulated cavity, blockwork inner skin all day long. 50 plus dead people would still be alive if that simple construction had applied at Grenfell House.
  2. Looks good in the vid for sure, but there's wide open spaces to exploit that just can't be found in most Prem matches. He's looked poor to ordinary throughout his time with us bar the odd decent performance such as West Brom. The fact Puel dropped him - bizarrely - after that match allows us all to dream that he would have become an influential Premier League quality midfielder for the remainder of the season if only he hadn't been dropped. Perhaps he will will if given the chance by our new man, let's hope so.
  3. Indeed. Puel's out for summer, Puel's out forever. As many others have said I wish him well but am mightily relieved he's gone. Just hope the delay is down to us now having all but secured his successor rather than having failed to do so but concluded we can't hang the bloke out to dry any longer.
  4. I have a bronze statue of someone who looks nothing like Ted Bates.
  5. Agreed, if he stays there will be no announcement that he's staying.

    Puel out

Genuine thanks for that, you've given me renewed hope he will get the sack.

    Puel out

The fact he hasn't gone yet is worryingly suggestive that he will stay. If he does - barring an unprecedented summer of few player sales and several encouraging purchases - my overriding feeling going into the new season will be one of utter trepidation.

    Puel out

Odd appointment. Never comfortable with it. Prepared to give him a chance. Gave him a chance. Want him gone.
  9. You'd better believe it James 'cos it's true. TRUE. Just think, they did it under our ex-manager while we toil away under this clueless helmet's stewardship.
  10. Hmmm not too sure about JWP having a season to forget and Forster doing alright.
  11. Best of the worst.
  12. It does Saints foreva. It does.

    Puel out

The answer to this is play better, more entertaining football than Puel's team has, particularly at home. TBH I doubt there would be any question of him losing his job, or that many fans calling for his head, if he had achieved exactly what he has this season but done it playing more entertaining football involving more goals and no runs of 4 home games in a row without a single goal being scored (FFS). I agree he has been dealt a bad hand for all the reasons stated numerous times on this forum but I have never been so bored watching us on such a relentless consistent basis. Part of me thinks give him a chance to prove himself next season, with some of his own signings and no European handicap, but the greater part can't help thinking that we will just get more of the same. IF he has fallen out with senior players/lost the dressing room on top of/because of the soporific style of play then he has to go regardless.
  16. Realised about 10 minutes after posting that . Simply can't be ar$ed to learn how to edit though.
  17. Totally agree about Stephens. Beginning to really look the part.
  18. Played pretty well tonight but - possibly not for the first time this season, particularly at home - no real cutting edge. And that my friends is EVER SO SLIGHTLY FRUSTRATING. I cannot believe we have missed 3 penalties in 5 games - all by different players - costing us 6 fecking points. I am firmly in the wouldn't be bothered at all if Claude got the sack camp but that, quite simply, is not his fault.

    Striker Sale

    Shiite is the new pony.
  20. I fear we have Gaston mark 2 on our hands. Ramirez actually had a better first season than Boufal.
  21. Well clarified.
  22. Scored 2 good goals and won so happy days. Shane Long would be such a good player if he wasn't so stunningly awful at the main thing he is on the pitch for.
  23. He just ****in stood there and watched it. Just what you want in a goalkeeper, yes?
  24. Shane Long would struggle to hit a cow's banjo in a brothel.
  25. What a superb goal that was.
