  1. Familiar pattern. You could see it going that way. I'd love to say I'm confident we can turn it round but frankly I am not. At all.
  2. Haha, Channon got completely taken out in the box and its an indirect free kick! Like you say, never see them given now (in or outside the box). On another note, it's no wonder they never needed a rest in those days - the pace of the game was so slow it was virtually like having a rest on match day.
  3. Hmmm "host of premier league clubs". I'm not sure what number constitutes a host but I'd like to think we are not in that number.
  4. A disgraceful embarrassment.
  5. Cannot remember him doing anything that remotely made me think he was going to be a good player.
  6. Outstandingly bad for someone who looked so good when he arrived. His shooting is comical.
  7. Strong bench!!
  8. GTFI! Brilliant display made even more satisfying by the fact I watched it in Southsea where I'm working (I live in Kent) and where I witnessed a group of Portsmouth helmets acting all hard in the high street at about 7pm, looking forward to their big night out "watching the Scum get battered".
  9. We are doing superbly. Stephens, Romeu, Redmond all outstanding. But FFS our finishing is fecking INFURIATINGLY bad. It's incredible really that we can be so consistently poor at the most important thing in football. We can still do this, but you just feel we are going to pay for all these opportunities p!ssed away. C'mon Saints!!!
  10. Wasn't really tested enough for any cracks to show.
  11. If you consider today's result and this season so far in general rationally, soberly and from a purely neutral point of view it's obvious that Leicester did nothing more than paper over the cracks when they won the league last season. The b'stards.
  12. FFS. If that's long term we have GOT to get someone else in.
  13. Should have been at least 2. Still in this though and if we can sneak a goal up there we have a decent chance.
  14. This is the crux of it for me regardless of where we are in the league, how many points we have, and how that all compares with previous seasons at the same stage. We are boring and he is the main reason for this indisputable fact. I suppose he should be given the chance to improve it especially if given the backing to bring in at least a striker in the window but ultimately I would be pleased and relieved if he went now.
  15. Tipping point being reached today, this is beginning to seriously fall apart.
  16. Not a chance in hell, sadly.
  17. The reason is that the football has been consistently tedious, uninspiring, and lacking in any sort of attacking nous or flair for half a season now (with a handful of exceptions).
  18. Hands up who thought we were going to be able to break them down after they went in front. Jesus Christ we look so slow, boring and pedestrian. Not even the slightest hint of us pulling them out of shape and troubling them.
  19. This is a sensible post and of course things have been worse, much worse. Comments like the ones you quote are obviously OTT and would be better left unsaid in all honesty but we have played quite a lot of painfully boring football this season, under our new manager (yes we have played well at times, yesterday particularly) and for people to voice their frustrations and concerns about it is as understandable and reasonable a reaction as your suck it up and move onto the next one approach. If everyone did that there would literally be no posts on the reaction thread after a defeat except "Oh well, could be worse, onto the next one" which, let's face it, would be a bit tedious. Football causes emotional highs and lows which are at their most acute during the actual matches and some of the negative stuff is a reflection of the lows just as the "GTFI!!!" stuff reflects the highs. Agree if anyone only ever posts negatively then that's ridiculous. We are still a work in progress under Puel, clearly there is the possibility of performances like yesterday becoming more regular and if they do it will be difficult for anyone (well, almost anyone!) to find negatives, but if the soporific possession over goals stuff continues then so will, justifiably, the complaints.
  20. Excellent performance today especially in the 2nd half. Davis did superbly but JRod has to be MOTM, thought he looked lost (if isolated) first half but you could see the confidence flooding back as soon as he scored the first, all culminating in that brilliant 2nd. Well done fella, keep it up!
  21. Hobson's choice right now I'm afraid. AND HE SCORES!!!!!! (just as I was about to post hopefully a goal will get him going!) GTFI!!!
  22. Neither am I, he looks lost to me sadly. He is isolated to be fair but he just doesn't look up to it.
  23. Redmond simply is never going to be a striker.
  24. Lowest scorers in the division now as well after Boro's win yesterday. Long and/or JRod have got to step it up and do what they are paid to do, starting today.
