  1. That attack looks way too light for me. Whilst I like Redmond I don't think he'll replace Mane's goals and Pelle's "replacement" Austin will quite likely not be on the pitch at least 50% of the time to convert the creativity and crosses Redmond will provide. Add to that the high likelihood that J Rod will never be the player he was - what if he has another season like last year when he was out for the majority of it and scored zero league goals? - and we are potentially far far too weak. We need another proven striker at least and probably another creative type, two if we lose Tadic which I sincerely hope we don't. Hopefully and probably the club are still working on bringing another 1 or 2 in (Berahino would do nicely) and have reason to be confident that Austin and Rodriguez' previous injury problems are behind them, but to go into the season with that attacking line up would be a real worry.
  2. He's alright, can be good but my instinctive reaction to news that he is coming on or starting is "oh no, I hope he doesn't **** up."
  3. Get in. Best news of the summer so far.
  4. Why don't you understand Fry?
  5. Hmmmm, the more I look at it the more it looks like a bra. A new revolutionary type of bra granted, kind of providing extra (wired?) support in the central area to force the cleavage open and the breasts up yet in opposite directions at the same time. One for the saints fan that would prefer to have his/her moobs/tits highlighted whilst proudly wearing the colours.

    Euro 2016

As evidenced by Wednesday night's special "Euro '96 - When Football Came Home". Jesus Christ. (And it's actually 2 semi final appearances in 50 years now)
  7. ffs:mcinnes: anyway I prefer Leadsom

  10. Will be so p!ssed off if we sell Bertrand. Still got a long contract so no need to from that perspective. Need to keep him for 1 more season at least for all the reasons you state above.

Yep, Ramsey was the galactico tonight. Brilliant.
  12. All about opinions but I thought he was feckin terrible (apart from his kicking).
  13. Day one yes. Already looking like the predictions of economic armageddon are exaggerated yes.
  14. It's all complete bull**** fry.
  15. Yep, basically we were told leaving would be economic armageddon and we would be pariahs shunned by the rest of Europe forever doomed to a life of destitution. We called bull**** and it's already looking like bull****.
  16. RonManager - thought you may have died. Wh'appen to your Stimpy avitar?
  17. Agree with this. When on form gave us a strength and solidity alien to us in the vast majority of my time supporting Saints.
  18. If doesn't get back to his old form next season I don't think he ever will. Terrible shame for the bloke, he was on fire, had just broken into the England squad, and looking like only getting better. Then one unbalanced landing with too much weight on one knee fecked it all up. Really hope he gets back but just don't think it's going to happen sadly.

    Euro 2016

Boring tournament featuring loads of tedious defensive performances. Can see more of the same in the knockouts as the lesser nations try to hold out for 120 minutes and have a crack at the pens (and no doubt succeed if they happen to be playing us).

Sturridge playing too deep. Our best natural finisher needs to be right up there in the box.

It isn't just you. It is dull. Teams are being very cautious. There aren't many flair players.
  22. Or Ryan Giggs

In the case of Sterling I certainly hope so. Kane is a great striker but just looks jaded.

What we need to stand any chance of success is a manager with tactical nous who can suss out the opposition, read a game, and change things appropriately when things aren't going our way. We have Roy Hodgson who picks 5 strikers, and one badly out of form winger and then proceeds to play a formation with 1 striker that requires 2 wingers. Just ridiculous ineptitude really.
