Thatcher is the greatest women the world has ever known
Wade Garrett replied to dune's topic in The Lounge
Trouble is, it might have helped those lucky enough at the time, but it didn't help anyone after. My first property was a third of the size of my parents house (which they bought under right to buy), but 4 times more expensive. -

The problem with capitalism is that the banks eventually run out of their money, and the money entrusted to them by their customers, so they have to rely on governments to bail them out to the tune of 100s of billions. Then the c*nts start paying themselves big bonuses again. F*cking chinless arseholes. -

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. -
Was he? If Thatcher hadn't destroyed the coal and steel industries (out of spite), they would all still be working. Another thing that your wet dream got wrong.

The Tory council in Southampton have employed a spin doctor on over £80k a year, and is expecting bin men and dinner ladies to take a 5% pay cut. Labour don't have the monopoly on waste.

Greedy Stupid Unions (Main Board & Lounge all in one)
Wade Garrett replied to Gemmel's topic in The Lounge
If their contract is similar to mine, we have all the night, weekend and bank holiday rates factored into our salary. Sundays and bank holidays probably have the same rate. -

It would be interesting to know if these negotiations have been dragging for weeks and months, or if the union are chancing their arm in a 'got them over a barrel' way. Negotiations are just that. Compromise on both sides to move the company forward. -

Two very different posts. My attitude towards this depends on who is right. I believe you should always honour your contractural obligations. If you want to change them, then get round the negotiating table. We had to make concessions to our management to end Boxing Day working. It's all about give and take. -
I'd put tax avoiders like Phillip Green in the same loathsome bracket of scum who defraud the benefit system. 'But Phillip Green emlploys lots of people'. Doesn't change the fact that he should pay his fair share.

You were quite vociferous about the firemen not changing their working hours. It's a shame that you didn't apply your argument here to then. F*ck me, if you had your way we'd go back to industrial relations in the Victorian times. You strike me as a bit of a cap doffer. -

Why do you always go back to what you do for a living as a benchmark for everyone else. You chose to go into the services, and you all do a magnificent job. But why continually side against working people when they are in dispute with their employer. You are a little myopic and seem happy to criticise when not armed with all the facts and your argument always seems to be in context with your own unique career in the services. For the person moaning about the salary of the tube drivers, it's all relative. I'll bet the management are on high salaries relative to their drivers, and they no doubt do not have to wrk Boxing Day at all. My employers chose to open on Boxing Day. We all had to work as normal apart from all the management had the day off. The MD put a token half hour appearance to give the impression that he was working and made sure everyone saw him. Then he 'd get in his car and spend the rest of the day with his family, f*cking hypocritical c*nt. We eventually agreed with a more enlightened management to once again stop work on Boxing Day. FWIW I don't think anything should open on Boxing Day, and people should be able to spend this time with their families. This has been imposed on tube drivers, and is not in their working agreements. It really annoys me that people are prepared to get up early on Boxing Day morning to hit the sales. C*nts the lot of them. -

Monkey, monkey? I'm a ****ing gorilla you clown! -
I liked the way Lambert and Lallana played up front together last season. The runs Lallana makes behind the defenders is different class. He can get too isolated playing out wide.

The Liberals are taking all the flak because they are spineless and stupid. You've got to admire Cameron for the way that all the bad news is being deflected onto his fag, Clegg. The Libs will get decimated in the next election as they are being found out at last. -

Statistically black is the better bet. -
If Lallana had any sense, he'd resist a Newcastle approach until the Summer. We might be in the same division as them next season. Cortese wouldn't sell him in January anyway. What's the point. We won't get much for him because of his contract. You never know, depending on promotion he might be happy to stay. We need another CM to play alongside Chaplow. That is our real weak area at the moment. A forward would also be nice, especially if Lambert's poor form continues.

Yes, it wasn't the selfish bankers who nearly bankrupted our country, it was the government. Brilliant. In reply to the original post, the cuts aren't really all that deep. Of course there will be election incentives, all governments maximise their chances in this way if they can. The tripling of tuition fees is grossly unfair though, but will haunt Clegg and the Liberals more because of their hollow promises. It's a shame Labour chose the wrong Milliband. He hasn't exactly hit the ground running has he. -
Probably not much of a shock, but Pardew knew the job was his before Hughton was sacked. I know it's the business they're in, but it leaves a bit of a sour taste.

His effort today was a disgrace. If he doesn't want to be here it would be better all round if he went.

Saints 0 Brentford 2 - Post Match Depression
Wade Garrett replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Hammond and Schneiderlin were absolute gash in the midfield. We definitely missed Chaplow. Neither of them were demanding the ball and were both ineffective. Lambert's effort today was disgraceful. On one occasion he found himself offside when it took him about 20 seconds to bother himself to get from the edge of their box to the halfway line. He should be dropped, he really needs a kick up the arse. We definitely need to sign a central midfield player and another forward. Adkins disappointed me today as well. The late substitution was ineffective, as was putting AOC up front and pumping high balls in to him. -
Another conspiracy theory (and I'm not rubbishing yours), is that he has been refused bail so that our country can protect him against assassination. Just another way of looking at it, although I am pretty sure that your scenario is a lot nearer the truth. It's depressing isn't it.

It doesn't sound good Hatch. Prepare yourself for life without your penis, as it is about to drop off. Classic symptoms. Happened to my dad a year before I was born.

I remember an outburst from one of the teachers at assembly about it, and the fact that a 5 year old had been left fatherless because of some nutter in America. The fact that it was 30 years ago makes me feel old.
