  1. Thats becausethe rapists are getting too lenient a sentance in my opinion - give them a minimum of 12 years and then you get some proportionality back into the system. With regards to swift justice, it is about time.
  2. Just goes to show that a lenient policy doesn't work. Perhaps if she had had the book thrown at her on conviction number one, the other 199 may not have happened. I know I am sailing into controversial waters here, but frankly, I am sick of people in this country taking the p*** and acting as if law is an inconvenience. I am also sick of the civil liberties brigade who start chirpping up every time stand is made against the general lawlessness in this country. Rant over
  3. I think the sentences are harsh but just. They need to be harsh enough to make people take notice and believe that their actions if unlawful have consequences. If people knew what the courts reaction would be prior to the riots, I suspect a lot more people would have stayed off the street.
  4. Never in doubt. Not for one minute....
  5. Dm 30 second diatribe about keeping the ball
  6. We certainly have influence on the world stage because of our relationship with the US. Other nations will use us as a conduit to try to resolve dipomatic issues due to our unrivalled access to them. However I would stop short of saying we are a world power, as whilst we can influence, we cannot impose our will anymore, be it economically, militarily or diplomatically.
  7. Maybe being used by Saints to put pressure on the rodrigeuz / maynard deals (if they are on).
  8. I could name a few of those on here
  9. In all walks of life, in every city, in every social class, in every creed, in every race there are nasty little opportunistic scroats. These riots are a great example of this.
  10. If you weighup the good vs bad, the scales come down on the "cortese is doing a good job" side. He's not perfect (who is) but he has vision, drive and determination and a clear idea of how he is going to do things. He is the best person that we have had at the helm for god knows how long especially when you compare him to Lowe, Wilde, Crouch, Askham.
  11. I forgot about the rockers - try slash and motley crue's books - Quite how they are still alive is anyone's guess, but reading the book you can understand why they ended up getting involved.
  12. Outside of football, try Ian Botham - It is well written and he certainly has has a colourful life which make for good content
  13. maybe, though i have no idea how many generations you would have to "breed" to make a significant difference.
  14. It's more to do with fast twitch muscle fibres which seem to be more prevalent in people from a west african ancestry. This is an interesting read http://run-down.com/guests/je_black_athletes_p2.php
  15. IIRC Colin Jackson did a documentary on this asking why the best sprinters tend to be of afro caribean extraction. Genetics and environment both played a part. I do agree it probably has something to do with human intervention, but I wonder if it has more to do with training and coaching opportunities in the US and Jamaica compared to those in west africa, than survival of the fittest over a relatively short evolutionary period.
  16. Don't forget your hoodie;)
  17. I guess you are talking about the "revenge" thread. Just reread it. Post #6 actually encourages the op to commit criminal damage and violent assault, if of course you read it literally. That is the trouble with forums, you never can tell when someone is joking or not.
  18. Verbal, I am intrigued. What exactly are you trying to achieve by goading dell days? It's beginning to sound like a vftt vs. Dune slanging match
  19. What a charming individual you are
  20. Funniest thing I have read so far this morning (and let's face it with the financial markets and riots we could all do with a laugh) "Iran called for London police to exercise self-restraint in dealing with protesters in Tottenham, north of London. Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast referred to Saturday night's massive protests in Tottenham, which came following [the killing] of a young black man by Scotland Yard police and called for the UK government to avoid any police's harsh treatment with protesters. He stressed return of peace and calm to London through talks and examining demands of the demonstrators. Mehmanparast expressed hope independent human rights bodies would take measures to make clear facts behind murder of the black man soon. " Iran urging restraint WTF??
  21. Is that because they not allowed to stay out late on a school night?
  22. I have just watched the bbc try to pass this off as the tipping point of social unrest that hasbeen threateningthe country for quite some time. Balls. this is just copycat criminality by a load of little scallies who should have their heads cracked.
  23. The very fact that the arsenal fans are livid with this deal should tell us that we have just picked their pocket.
