  1. Worth a mention after last night's performance. A goal, pass for Walcott's goal, and cleared one off the line. He achieved that in 45 minutes, which is more of a contribution than many of the buggers have made all season.
  2. Prepare yourself for a young 'tracksuit type' previously dealing with a junior Man City team, even if it's their Girls U16's.

'upwardly mobile coach' .... one who fucks off within a couple of seasons IF he's any good. It's not so long ago that we talked of 'the project'... at least that gave a slither of hope that the manager would see it through
  4. I suspect that even if Poch, or Potter picked up the phone and said, "look, for whatever reason... I'd like the job...", Rasmus W. would decline them as not 'fitting the model' or 'buying into our data driven ethos ...' which as everybody knows is the only way forward
  5. Think most on here could have speculated on both of those. Agree with you regarding a manager as opposed to coach. The 'coach' title, in England anyway, seems to undermine the managers authority, which is probably appropriate for us and the way they see it running. Whoever is appointed will be answerable to Rasmus as the decision maker, more likely a puppet dancing to his tune. Poortvliet time again i suspect.
  6. I remember his name from playing at Bournemouth , around the time of MacDougall and Boyer. Think they were still the unpretentious Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic in those days. I wasn't aware of his Saints connection (name aside) and scouting for us though.
  7. Would be such an un-Rasmus appointment, so would be great if it actually worked.
  8. Perhaps the Board are reaching for the 'Fat Sam' klaxon. Could we really be that desperate? Yes, is probably now the answer.
  9. And upgrade the GK coaching.
  10. Possibly too little, too late. The Board probably hamstrung themselves by the quick announcement of Selles taking over till the end of the season. Trouble with this gamble, if it happens, is that the new man won't have long to impose his style/tactics.
  11. No resale value. Rasmus&Semmensknowbest#
  12. Yet I think Steklenberg made several decent appearances for Everton after leaving. We seem to be blighted by succession of poor GK’s. Coincidence, or coaching ?
  13. This is an annoying trait in the game now for me. For me, first and foremost, the GK’s job is to keep the ball out of the net, a safe and reliable pair of hands. The ‘sweeper keeper’ bollocks is secondary, I don’t want to see him making Cruyff turns in the six yard box ( Boruc) , just use your fucking hands competently. The parrying/blocking has been a feature for too long. I recall cup ties over consecutive seasons where I think Steklenburg one season, Forster the other played ‘pat a cake’ putting the ball right in front of strikers to score (both Palace coincidentally). The art of holding the ball seems to have gone since Niemi left it seems. Bazunu’s effort yesterday wasn’t a punch or attempt to save.
  14. Would be a gamble, and one fuelled largely by sentiment. But at least he’d start with the support of the fan base. Would certainly prefer Fonte to a Lampard/Gerrard/ Rooney appointment.

The only real criticism is the company he has kept and chancer he seems to have taken on board.
  16. Stands out a mile. Phil Giles was the brains and recruitment. Ankersen did a good job talking about it though and taking the credit
  17. Don’t think you need the last word.

Difference being as far as I’m aware is that Sports Republican have put significant £ into the playing side of the club. £120m isn’t it ? To make us worse than the shit we were last season. That takes some doing.

I expect it’ll be shirt sleeves rolled back, hair nicely gelled, and we’ll be told the “Board are cool* about it ..” as we’re still in the world’s 6th greatest league” * Rasmus won’t use the Les era word of ‘relaxed’, that’s so out of date But you can’t see how he would sit back and allow his investment to just wither away whilst Rasmus continues with all the Ted Talk bollocks taking us to ruin.
  20. Most will want to hang around to see if a Premier League job comes up first. Only when West Ham, Leeds, and possibly Leicester(depending where they finish) have filled their jobs will some of the names touted look down to the Championship. Ideally I'd like to see an early appointment - but of the right candidate - to be fully involved in discussing and trying to influence both retained and recruitment lists. Preferably Monday, but that isn't going to happen. Knowing us it will be a case of waiting for Wilcox to start, get his feet under the table, break a few digestives over coffees with Rasmus, review the manager spreadsheets, and then look to recruit( mid July).
  21. Therein lies much of the problem.
  22. Perhaps he should address the question as to why, on both counts
  23. More depressing is that Bournemouth are showing us how it should be done. Needs to shove it up his own arse, as it’s clearly of no value or benefit
  24. Sums it up. The Rasmus Effect# (Although they might have been looking up the latest odds for the Grand National).

    Ruben Selles

How’s it working for him at Everton? But, would have been a more credible choice in October than NJ.
