  1. I thought we’d sounded him out but wasn’t interested in leaving Middlesbrough
  2. As I’m a miserable old bastard do I get a dispensation from Flynn Downes to vent my frustrations to have built up since September 2nd ?
  3. Exactly this. The on-field lethargy spread to the fans. The three subs really were the ‘handing out the cocoa/Horlicks or whatever ..’

    Danny Rohl

I have wondered this myself, but as you say a huge risk with no managerial experience behind him. Strangely I think he'd have had the support of the fans at the outset having been linked to the early success of RH in keeping us up, and not being saddled by the 'mid-table' expectation of RM. But lets be honest, his six months (if it was that) with us isn't a great reason to appoint, and his record at Bayern as I understood it was as one of Flick's assistants, then his time with the national team wasn't a great success at the WC. Hope it works out for him at Sheff Weds if he ends up going there, but wasn't there a bit of a cloud over his departure and reasons for it, or was that just one posters rumour at the time ?
  5. And that our recruitment team (Rasmus) had their head up their arse.
  6. About the play-offs. So, it’s touch and go whether we make them or not. Is that really where we should be aiming with the squad we’ve got, and £ received this summer in comparison with the rest of the division? Accepted, the squad aren’t as good as we like to think, but the play off lottery isn’t where we should be aiming
  7. We did get a decent return from him when he did play though.
  8. Trying to find the RM post match interview online, I stumbled on this following a 1-1 draw Swansea had with them in February. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/swansea-city-crisis-fans-booing-26347844 Obviously Rotherham are just a bogey team for RM. Nothing to worry about then.
  9. My comparison was not an expectation by any means.
  10. Yes, fair point of course. (Butterfly effect, wasn’t that one of MLG’s great topics ?).
  11. Good effort from those at the back again yesterday in getting an atmosphere going. Well done.
  12. Not just by giving the ball back, but a poor headed clearance. And Bazunu way off his line.
  13. Might give their manager a miss, although I think he has got one promotion (Exeter) to his name. So one more than RM. Their GK on the other hand would be worth watching between now and the next window.
  14. As things stand at the moment, sad but true.

Thanks for the background info. Perhaps I should look forward to the good fortunes and transformation as Goztepe are enjoying reaching St Mary’s .
  16. I looked up the 2011/12 season and noticed that in October 2011 Reading were 10 points behind us but made up ground. But I’m not expecting us to put anything like that run of form together.
  17. Have to wonder what sort of numbnuts in the Press Office thought this was something to shout from the rooftops, or that it would impress the masses. Assuming it didn’t come from a higher level than our marketing team of course. I’d accept the view that he didn’t have the resources at Swansea or MK that he’d get here, but even so that stat and graphic does nothing to inspire the fanbase.

Glad to see Rasmus &Co doing their best there as well now. What is the Midas touch in reverse called, where things turn to shit?
  19. Not sure it's just Sports Republic or anything new., although it doesn't reflect well on them. But we've got a long history of buying crocks. Remember Delgado, and Charlie George from the 1970's. I'm sure there were others, but those two stay in the memory.
  20. Didn’t Phil Kite make a rare appearance for us there in a(nother) cup upset ? Seem to recall he clobbered Mark Wright or one of CB’s putting them out of action when coming for a cross.
  21. Club perhaps seeing it as a reason for hiking the price next season as it gets more popular ….
  22. Yes. The sort of stat that acts as quite a disincentive to go … we know how Saints can be the most obliging opponents
  23. A council spokesperson said blue lights were installed on the bridge as red had been considered potentially problematic for mariners and pilots. Photograph: Katharina Brandt/Alam Isn't the red light on the building on the left also problematic for pilots ?
  24. First time this season (I think) that the opposition had more possession. And we won. RM won’t be happy though.
  25. Probably regarded as a good bet for goals being scored, at one end even if not the other.
