  1. Might not be a done deal, and some issues getting in the way. My source tells me the sticking point is the car offered . The club have offered a top of the range 4x4, but Russell has rejected it. He’s insisting on a 1970’s Citroen CV with authentic ‘ban the bomb’ and ‘save the whale’ stickers which the club haven’t been able to find.
  2. Wrong thread
  3. Wonder how many we'll still be paying, if and when RM arrives.
  4. Not having a sponsor on it added to the attraction.
  5. Hummel seem to come up with some pretty decent designs for other clubs, and I prefer them to some of the 'templates' that the larger manufacturers come up with. Fault rests with the dickheads at SFC agreeing the design rather than with the designers. Commercial managers at Celtic or Liverpool wouldn't sanction a ridiculous change, it wouldn't get to the fan stage.
  6. Doubt it. The name has been known for some weeks so we’ve had time for it to sink in, so are resigned to it
  7. Saints going for a record, sacking the manager before he has formally been appointed. Rasmus trying to make Cortese look a pussy by comparison.
  8. Better take his belt and shoe laces away, and put Nordic on suicide watch.
  9. Has Icke suggested Martin’s possession football is a means of sedating the fans ? If not, what is the relevance?
  10. As the early 2000’s* have as well * or whenever this line first appeared
  11. I had a reminder today re season ticket prices and renewals. Call me a cynic but it seems the timing of this grand announcement is just timed to boost ticket sales.
  12. Didn’t we lose a research bloke to Everton earlier in the year ? Dan Rice. If so, perhaps the exchange was conducted like a cliche from a Cold War espionage film. Saints and Everton officials meet at a service station near Birmingham where Farrelly and Rice walk slowly towards their new club, not exchanging a glance as they pass.
  13. Get in!!! Fucking epic appointment. Haven’t been this excited since the announcement of Charlie Boss as Commercial Director in January. InRasmuswetrust# nerd- army …
  14. Yes been worried about this for a while. The big freeze could cause the biggest fixture pile up since the winter of 1963.
  15. Would be happy with the red&white halves. Or r/w quarters for a change. The contrast stripes in the suggested Hummel design ruins it in my view.
  16. Not sure about the playing some really nice stuff at Swansea from what I’ve read. Did have a good run at the end of last season. As for time, will SR and the fans accept that ? I expect there will be a fair bit of discontent from the supporters (who actually attend matches) if we’re not firmly in the play off positions in October
  17. Isn’t that the day fixtures were due out?
  18. Sacked from Reading towards the end of last season. So, he’s available! No thanks.
  19. Have heard same from two I know, although they did add that he'd been restricted in the transfer market in January by their Board.

    Sport Republic

Sports Republic certainly seem to like Ligue 2 status.
  21. Agree about the name. But more 1960’s ring to it for me, a sort of hybrid of two of the Great Train Robbers.
  22. duplicate post (Or senile moment)
  23. Remember the ‘we are evil …. ‘ chant.
  24. This is how I saw him, does some of the pretty stuff from time to time, but no real presence or aggression. Sort of player that goes missing easily But probably an upgrade on Ely, not that that’s the standard we should be setting
  25. Stoke supporter I know says he had some good games, but their purple patch and run of form was largely due to another midfielder on loan, Ben Pearson from Bournemouth. Pearson sounded like an ideal DM for the Championship. Probably surplus at AFCB but as he’s about 27 we probably won’t consider him. And if AFCB do sell it would probably be £1.5m to Stoke or£5m to us.
