Social media, at its best...

Not sure if intended, or a Freudian slip, but made I laugh...(as I've heard said near Bristol ..)
-
Couple of them I’ve encountered are quick and loud to tell everyone in earshot that they’ve “been headhunted …” and wasn’t looking to leave but couldn’t turn down the offer ..
-
Thought you’d be impressed as it really does tick a lot of the inclusion boxes, and adds to our virtual signalling bollocks.

The video isn’t an overwhelming endorsement of him. Sounds like he had a ‘Ralph run’ and purple patch of nine games at the end of the season. Just timed nicely to reel in a sucker like Rasmus to try projecting that over the course of a season !

Wishful thinking but is the ‘publicity’ leaking around this a smokescreen whilst we are secretly negotiating with someone else ? If this happens then it’s another uninspiring selection by SR. It may prove to be a stroke of genius but SR haven’t done anything to suggest ‘genius’ is within their grasp. Could, and should have been more ambitious. Perhaps we were and they’ve rejected us. Was thinking yesterday that at least Tony Mowbray always seemed a ‘proper football bloke’. Only positive I can think of appointing this bloke is at least he will spare us an awful scouse accent that would have come with Gerrard, Rooney, or Schumacher.

Or fucking stupidity

Of all the ‘outside’ long shots mentioned McKenna does seem to have bit more in his CV. Certainly has one more promotion than Martin anyway.

Be bloody livid if our spineless board allow a talent like Alcaraz to leave without a fight.

You’d hope we’d think as a Championship club with ambition to get out of it and back into the EPL, rather than a Championship club who see themselves for mid-table Championship for the foreseeable future .. Never mind, he plays a lot of sideways passing pretty football out from the back. And league positions don’t matter anyway (Simple Semmens Says).

It wasn't intended to be serious.

New head of recruitment appointed. Brother of Tony!

Think your telling porkies mate.. -
Depends on the ambition of our owners, board, and how they 'sell' the club to the prospective new manager/head coach. Sit back, we're about to find out.

So, have we really come to these as our only options: vegan, Bhuddist, Green Party member from Brighton v , the bingo machine eyes, tough mining town spiel and psychosis Await the newly signed up tree hugging vegans on the Forum. Perhaps we should have a poll, not sure who'd win. PlanetRasmus#

Spoke to a Swansea supporter today who said exactly this about Martin. (Made same criticism of Martinez though, although I think this was borne out by various pundits after he went to the Everton). General observation was that he was not fussed whether RM stays with them or not, apart from it might give them some stability going into next season. Apart from that , acknowledged 'he plays some pretty football from time to time... but falls apart conceding stupid goals. Said he'd lost count of the number of times the GK playing it out from the back has put them under pressure or they conceded. Frankly, he could have been describing us as we are or have been over the last 12 months. In Rasmus we trust of course.

So when Sports Republic arrived, in a blaze of glory and optimism, did anybody expect the names of Nathan Jones, and Russell Martin to be linked ?
-
If he comes to us I suspect he’ll only look to use us as a stepping stone. Looks destined to end up at Forest Green.
-
How many chances do you give him to get it right ? I suppose as a co-owner the answer is as many as he wants. But for me, Rasmus has burnt up his credit with the Jones appointment. Appointing Nathan Jones yelled out Championship. Can’t help thinking Russell Martin is striving for Championship mediocrity.

Mate said to me in the 1990’sor early 2000’s that there are two types of manager for Saints; good ones we can’t keep hold of, or others that nobody else wants.
-
PV comes across as a fairly sound bloke on some of the interviews I’ve seen but I think the acceptance is based largely on his record as a player. (And perhaps his association with Man City, which as we know lulls the recruitment team at SFC to believing he must be quality …)
-
Would satisfy the nice knitwear criteria as well. Of the other names you mention, hasn’t Bilic failed spectacularly a couple of times since? Cooper was linked due to ties with Crocker. He comes across as more of a training ground coach/manager than football spreadsheet so might not fit in with our revolutionary way of changing the game.

See your point but don’t totally agree about needing improvement is acknowledging culpability. May be semantics, but needing improvement covers a wide area.In Rasmus’ large ego but tiny mind the things that need improvement will probably be with Semmens and Crocker etc rather than him accepting responsibility. As I see it, using a nautical analogy, Semmens &Co had us aimlessly drifting towards an iceberg, but rather than steer away from it (with time on their side when they took over) Sports Republic have just accelerated full steam ahead into it. Sure Semmens and co can be criticised but the blame must rest with SR.

Sure it wasn't Semmens ? ...and here we go again.... trying to be clever and unearth a gem. Watch the ST sales plummet with either. Yawn.
