  1. From everything I’ve read about your GK situation this season I was hoping the GK coach might be left behind. And hope the former MK keeper isn’t someone Martin looks to bring.
  2. I was too busy singing …” by far the greatest set of pearly white gnashers, the Premier League has ever seen … “ to see him go off and applaud him.
  3. Are they?
  4. The missing or obvious link ?
  5. I wasn’t making a case for RM, but questioning the availability of the alternative ‘canny gravitas appointment like Kompany’ referred to in Miltonaggro’s post. I don’t think he was saying Vieira was the only option in that bracket.
  6. Think he’s their captain. Danish as well. Wonder how that scores on the matrix, or Rasmusometer (whatever it’s called). (Apologies if found on another thread - a ‘senior’ trait I’m afraid).
  7. So what happened to Salisu for the last couple of months ? Genuine injury, or a convenient excuse ?
  8. Think Sheff Weds could be quite strong next season.
  9. Toothless attack in front of him, piss poor defence behind him. Don’t think a full season turbocharged JWP would make up for that.
  10. Nostalgia and sentimentality aside, that is a bit of a dogs breakfast/hotch potch of a kit. Shame as it’s a decent design but not particularly fond of it at the time, as it appears red and pink from a distance. The design looks fine in the St Etienne shirt, and the Coventry sky blue and white. We could certainly have a decent away kit with the design but as a home kit doesn’t appeal. No doubt like this season we’ll come up with something worse and less Saints like for a home kit, and even more puke inspiring for the away.
  11. Fucking hell Pilchards, over the years you’ve been one of the better, more sensible, and reliable posters on here, but since the impending arrival of Martin, have you become a hybrid of Victor Meldrew and Private Frazer ? Mind you, given the SR track record you’ve every right to doubt the fuckers Play the MLG card on this one: burden of proof, and all that…
  12. Answers your own question I’d have thought.
  13. Don’t disagree with you, but I’ve yet to see a name that would satisfy the ‘canny gravitas appointment’ description mentioned, let alone linked with the job. Who did you have in mind ? Vieira has a few failures in his managerial CV, so other than his playing record there isn’t a lot to make a case for him on.

    Ruben Selles

…. and do well there .
  15. Yes, but might ease the disappointment depending on how much we get for him, and how it is invested to bolster the team. (Not optimistic on that front given our piss poor recruitment and those making the choices).
  16. Pleased that Ron’s record remains intact. In what has been a shit season otherwise that does give a bit of satisfaction.
  17. Okay. Fair point
  18. No recognised striker … even on the bench it seems ( unless you include AA). Meanwhile, Elyonoussi retains his place. He really is the turd they can’t or won’t flush away.
  19. if that is the case why was he given the Wolves game ?
  20. I’m sure his contribution to Luton’s upward trajectory features on his CV and in interviews. “Now then Russell, can you tell us about … ?”
  21. Annoying that four more wins by Saints and Everton going down could be a more realistic prospect.
  22. Think it has to be this. One of my fears is that if Leicester and Leeds, assuming they come down with us, make what appears to be more impressive appointments, the discontent among our fans will crank up a few levels. Before a ball is kicked we’ll find ourselves back in ‘he’s got 10 games, give him till October’ type of territory.
  23. Who’s your preferred option FF ? Like you I haven’t been over enamoured with the RM rumours, especially hearing some of the views from Swansea. But having said that, once you remove the probably over optimistic names like Potter there aren’t many left. (I wouldn’t have been against Mowbray, but all names seem to have their flaws).
  24. Reads like you're already hoping for this to be the case which seems a bit premature really. I'm prepared to give him the first 45 minutes of the season before I start to call for his head.
  25. That hasn't gone amiss with many of us to be honest. We hope we've pulled off a masterstroke and found a gem, but with their track record over the last 18 months doesn't inspire confidence. Thanks to you and Wyn for the views. Much of what you say sounds all too familiar to us unfortunately.
