Not quite the Manchester United or Newcastle move that perhaps he and his agent thought was heading their way.
-
If we could do it early I’d be happy getting back what we paid for him. Even better if we can recoup the wages when he ‘wasn’t available’ for whatever reason.
-
Agree to some extent, although it goes to show the regard subsequent players are held in.
-
Would have been a very popular option, over some of the recent efforts if it had been put to the vote I’m sure.
-
Suspect you’d have heard less about it from Solihull Moors fans had he gone there though.
-
Was hoping for a yellow and blue version of the home kit after someone’s leaked info in here. BUT it’s a vast improvement on the horrendous abortions they served up last season, so thankful for that, as it looks quite tidy.
-
Especially as City insist on a buy back and sell on clause …
-
Come on, I may not particularly like their club, and their constantly whinging fans, but you can’t knock their achievements over the years and attraction to players. PSV - assume you mean PSG. What is their success record outside of their domestic league ? Yes I’d prefer him to go to Real or Barcelona than Liverpool but if they or Arsenal stump up what we want I don’t really give two monkeys. Bloke was never going to stay with us, let’s move on, spend it wisely (for a change). Danger is we get a piss poor offer, and after his Costa with Klopp he goes on a sulk to force a move. So £50m will do nicely. And make sure of a healthy % sell on for when he does go to Spain.
-
Could he have been worse than Bazunu and McCarthy over the course of the season ?
-
Yes, £50m to Arsenal, £60m to them. No Adam Hamill type cast offs in pt exchange either. Especially one that has the most special of special nights in European football. YNWA ad nauseum

Saints always used to have a good support from around the county, Andover, Winchester, Basingstoke etc , and South Wiltshire. Rather than dismissing the support from outside the city , the bigger question might be why isn’t it stronger in the city itself ? -
Having been there, I certainly don’t.
-
Yeh, I still believe we’ll walk Division Two after keeping Channon and Osgood. It’ll be a doddle.
-
£35m for Harvey Barnes, yet clubs think we’re unrealistic is wanting £40-50m for Livramento, JWP and Lavia !
-
Livramento suffered a serious injury at the end of the previous season so was always going to be a long term absentee last season. From what we saw of Larios I don’t think we missed him during his absence. Beyond belief that the club didn’t think a 19 year old GK wouldn’t struggle in his first season. He may have had some muppets in front of him but that doesn’t excuse some of the feeble attempts he let in (the header at home to Brighton springs to mind).

This stands out a mile doesn't it? Both Terry Paine and Jimmy Case were touted as replacements for their existing managers. Neither succeeded to the role, and in many ways their presence/absence continued to haunt the eventual successor. I think Fonte is older than Martin as well.
-
But can he use his fucking hands to keep it out of our net when needed ? Perhaps like Larios he's another 5'2" , but he's played for City so he'll be fine ...
-
Is that Neville Southall ?
-
As greetings go that’s a pretty dramatic opening gambit. Back to the question, I suspect it will be a new arrival, possibly Grimes if RM can bring him in. Assuming JWP leaves, which I expect will happen.
-
Wonder if he was ever on our shortlist.

I see that both Alton and Alresford get mentions. Anyone from Petersfield ? That’s got to be Saints territory hasn’t it ? -
I didn’t think Bree looked out of place when he played v Wolves ( or perhaps it was that he wasn’t worse than the shit around him). He seemed frozen out after that, but I think he’ll be okay for us if needed this season.

I’ve always regarded Basingstoke and Salisbury as our catchment areas. Basingstoke I suppose is a little cloudy as north of there you’re also in Reading territory, and as a London overspill town it’s bound to have a load of London glory seekers. -

Wiltshire is ‘Channon country’ so don’t think you need to justify your support for the club, or seek ‘approval’ from anyone -
Unless the player creates a fuss I'd like to see us stick to our valuation. He's worth more to us staying and helping to get us back up than the value they're putting on him.
