  1. Shit team shirts. Admittedly we don’t have a monopoly on these, but three commendable efforts this season.
  2. There might be a benefit of seeing the squad close up and trying to influence those you want to stay and those you don’t. The CV issue has been trotted out a few times, but at this stage it’s irrelevant to some point. It’s not an A level grade, or a Pass/Fail on an exam. Think it would be known that the coach/manager comes in for 4 games and the damage was previously done. Might be interpreted slightly differently if coming in during February with a quarter of a season to go.
  3. Some entrepreneur should sell red and white foam hands making a ‘wanker’ gesture for the game. Would make a fortune.
  4. It was a pretty poor response last season, also v Liverpool. Not sure they’ll have the gall to hold one this year. If they do then Rasmus should lead it so we can offer our “appreciation “ for his inspirational leadership
  5. Couple of random thoughts: Will they announce Bazunu as Pompey Player of The Year 2022/23 pitchside before the Liverpool game? Aribo going round the pitch after the LIverpool game applauding the fans will probably be the quickest most of us have seen him move all season.
  6. Malfunction obviously. Glad Camelot don’t use a set of balls called Ruben, it would probably only drop five.
  7. Question I raised before, which of the directors were attending ? Semmens probably (lost family time, bless him), but what about Rasmus W. and the other Danish bloke ?
  8. Annoying to see Shar and Botman line up against us. Shar was on our radar in 2017 but Les couldn’t complete the deal. Probably not his fault, but presumably letting Fonte go in expectation of it happening was. Botman - cost Lille less than we payed for Salisu, and they flogged him for £35m after two seasons playing for them. Our scouts clearly scoured Europe for the right one there.
  9. Why the surprise? Scoring goals is an overrated part of the game. Especially as league positions don’t matter. PlanetRasmus# Semmenstheorynumbertwo#
  10. The plan must be keep it tight for 80 minutes, then throw one of our goalscoring machines, Che or AA on to nick it. Let’s hope Newcastle don’t score first or Rubén’s plan goes to pot. Wonder if he’s considered that however remote a possibility it might be.
  11. He might, but he’d wait until all Premiership options have gone. Even then we might be in competition with Leicester, Forest or whoever else come down. On top of which he might prefer a job abroad again. Few would have expected Pardew to drop into L1. But whether we can make the job an attractive proposition is another matter altogether.
  12. November would be preferable unless you want to suffer the plague of caravans and holidaymakers heading that way.
  13. True to a point but perhaps review the Championship ‘ cliches’ after we’ve been down there a while. Of the examples you give, Darren Powell was just shit, rather than ‘brick shithouse’, and Tadic, Mane, and Lallana regularly offered an end product as well. Yet to see that with Edozie for example
  14. Yes, but if you want to see Saints highlights on the box then Line-acre is part of the Saturday night offering
  15. Reminds me of the intended plastic duck protest against Rupert. Didn’t materialise.
  16. We’ve needed that in the Premiership over the last two or three seasons. Are you any more confident that Semmens and Ankersen will deliver that for the championship? Brick shithouse centre half, or another nimble footed Edozie, or Larios type ? You know which they’d pick. They need a manager who realises this, and enforces it in the transfer strategy. But again, can you rely on them to select one?
  17. In all seriousness, no we shouldn’t. But Newcastle scored 5 in what was it, 35 minutes last Sunday ? If that happened to our lot you know how easily that simply cave in, so anything is possible. Its also possible, that we put a super human effort in, and nick something, with them also having an off day. We must be overdue something from this fixture (But then not turn up at Forest or home to Fulham). Not counting any chickens though.
  18. don’t forget the catering ?
  19. I can’t stand Sutton, but he’s spot on there. Although 5-0 may be generous to us.
  20. Going back to L1 days, but it appears that Brighton more than managed to “keep up”.
  21. Not having to occasionally watch and listen to the smug twat Lineker and his supporting cast on MOTD.
  22. Could be our own record under threat today.
  23. They’d have to do it for a season though.
  24. I expect we’ll look to spare Bazunu the embarrassment of a heavy defeat. We’ll play him CF this week instead
  25. Of those you mention Vieira and Gerrard (despite Rangers) are really still trading on their names as players and remain unproven. Vieira is perhaps more of a ‘name’ but his record/reputation as manager is probably enhanced by being associated with City ( something the Saints hierarchy seem blinded by).
