  1. loan ?
  2. A good listen. Thanks.
  3. He was worth the fee for the celebrations at Reading alone.
  4. I think Cortese probably felt Reading were taking the piss. I remember a fee of £250,00 was discussed/rumoured when the player first came to us then they hiked the price at the end of the season. De Ridder was the season after promotion , so not an immediate replacement for Antonio.
  5. I'm sure he'd have to agree to it but seems unlikely he'd opt to stay at Saints to forego a move to Madrid or wherever. Don't know, I thought there had been previous cases of this, although may have confused it with loan options returning somewhere before being sold.
  6. It's not just whether he is wanted back in their first team though that will influence it . Chelsea could buy him back at £40m, and sell him to Real Madrid for double that the next day.
  7. Certainly needs explaining.
  8. Have changed it for you.
  9. No Armstrong even on the bench. Have I missed any announcement of injury ??
  10. Surprised by this from you MLG. As often said in sales papers, past performance is not an indicator of future results. Your standards are slipping.
  11. Other than playing for Scotland (but so does Che as a benchmark )not sure how a good a player he is but he will certainly improve our chances of winning the 'Quasimodo impression'' trophy judging on this photo.
  12. Given Torino might be eager to offload him I'd have thought a loan with an option might have been a more cautious approach.
  13. Being able to defend, capable in the air, and not shrinking at the first sign of a physical CF probably rate pretty highly in the requirements of most. Agreed. Fancy footwork in your own penalty area scares the shit out of me when done by defenders as much by our GK's and we know how that has ended for several of them. From the youtube clips he does look to have played in a more advanced position at some stage so perhaps he may be moved further forward for us as well.
  14. What became of Centurion Business Park ? Recall they had purge on parking there at one stage.
  15. Hoedt MkII from that description.
  16. Was hoping for Caletas- Car , or even Worrall from Forest, this seems a bizarre selection from the little we've read of him.
  17. True of course but which sounds closer to being what we need this season, a 17 yr old with no first team experience, or a 19 year old who has played first team football in Scotland and is highly rated. Hopefully our scouts will know.
  18. I'll bang the drum once more about signing Doig from Hibs as our back up LB. Solely so we can call him Deputy Doig. (Age thing...).
  19. But from the figures mentioned we could buy a 19 year old with more experience and closer to a first team place you would have thought (Doig) for less than a 17 year old. MLG NOTE: Obviously based solely on figures in the reports so can't be taken as gospel (if MLG will permit that phrase).
  20. It calls for a balance in my view. For CB if that's what we're talking of here then agree with you we can't affords another "one for the future", we need a player to make an impact this season. The lb situation is slightly different in that we're looking for back up but it's a big expectation to sign a 17 year old for this. If we're looking at a younger player to step in this season then we should be looking at a player with some experience already. If we're spending up to £5m, then the Hibs bloke (Doig) would probably be a better option than £5m on a 17 year old. The flaw in that though might be that Hibs would want the bulk of the reported £3.5 -4m sooner than we might be paying Everton depending on progress.
  21. Is this the small compound on an industrial yard towards the end of Radcliffe Road (near Northam Social Club) backing onto the railway line ?
  22. Tall Dutch bloke who played CB and could hit an impressive pass out of defence (according to Youtube). Same boxes ticked as VVD. Obviously a surefire winner. Les was perfectly relaxed about it.
  23. So he might leave next summer due to a clause, or "gentleman's agreement", but sod all that worry about it in May. This is good positive news, which is much needed.
  24. Probably rules them out of the Obafemi running then.
  25. Not in the Prem though. Yay !!! I've bagged an MLG point. I like this game...
