  1. Wonder if this jeopardises his friendship with Pelle , remember the "you have an Ajax face " comment ?
  2. From my time following Saints the best record signing - David Armstrong. But in truth I'd have to accept Ron Davies (he was playing for us when I started following Saints, but had signed a few years before).
  3. Didn't see anything in that that screamed sign him up, he'll cut it in the EPL. Danish geezer - Vestegaard - would be my preference, we don't need a ball playing shortarse at the back, unless it's alongside a tall brute. Or perhaps Marlon is seen as a DM.
  4. Bournemouth now signed David Brooks from Sheff Utd. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44645199
  5. Perhaps the EPL will permit him to job share with Charlie Austin and take up a single place in the squad between them on grounds they are both injured for half a season each.
  6. ...and Brian Howard of course.
  7. Good effort
  8. Until Tierney turns them down perhaps.
  9. If he is as good as we're hoping maybe he should wear 7. Although as it stands "he wears the shirt of Johnny Syd.."
  10. Here you go. God those floppy haircuts of the early 80's!
  11. Let's not forget that we let Puncheon get back on the bus (with an oar in his hand).
  12. Bit confusing then, is this bloke a Norwegian Arab, or a Moroccan Viking ?
  13. Pretty genius to work a football song into 'Enola Gay', although it is a slower version. Seems to have an 80's terrace song factory there, 'can't get enough' etc. Shame we can't buy in a few of their original song writers as fans whilse we're at it.
  14. Have just said much the same. But as for the clip... Scottish goalkeepers mate ! Even Forster looked good up there.* *only joking re the clip, even getting it on target with any power from >18yards would be an up grade on what we have.
  15. One of the reasons that some are less excited about this is possibly the fact we have been linked with him for a couple of seasons now. Looking on a Celtic forum last night and the first rumour they had of a bid from us was May 2015 !. When his name appeared on here previously I recall the general concensus was that he looked good, and a midfielder who could shoot, especially from outside the penalty area. I'd be quite pleased if this went through especially for £7m.
  16. Fact is Leicester have signed Maddison, may turn out good for you, or it might be Matt Piper MkII. It's not losing Maddison as such that is the annoying thing taken in isolation, but a pattern of poor transfer windows conducted over a couple of years. The comments highlighted above are the more galling issue, something we are envious of, and by comparison adds to the doubts about our owners , their intentions, and their financial clout to deliver.
  17. Don't worry, Les is onto it.
  18. Thought Boufal would be on his way.
  19. Perfectly true. Tadic is a frustrating player who can go from sublime skill to invisible, often in the same match. Credit where it's due though he stepped up when it was needed, and in a manner I wouldn't have expected of him for the last 8 or so games. Had hoped Mark Hughes had manged to 'unlock' him and motivate him. I'd like to keep the Tadic of the last few matches, but not the one who coasted for much of the previous 18months. Trouble is, we'll have plenty of replacements "lined up", but getting them to sign is a different matter altogether.
  20. Good point. And one arm fully tattoed ?
  21. Oh good. I know a user on here who will delight in patenting the 'Ben Gashton' name twenty minutes into his debut then.
  22. But is he the 'brute' we need at CB ? Will he reach the standard we need and invoke the spirit of Benthelegend, "who is that bloke from 'boro, he is so dominant"?
  23. Problenm now though is that having stayed up last season, this is seen as successful management by the'board' in acting when they did and enhances Reeds self-belief of invincibiity.
