Okay, fair point.

Seems a bit of conflicting story that he doesn't speak much English but whilst attending a meeting he was able to tell Semmens how much the club and area meant to him, and that he'd like to retire here. Agree it was nice to see Nelly Gao addressing the people there, a brave move in a foreign language. To her credit, this is not something KL has done as she used Ralph Krueger to broadcast her messages.

Maguire going to Man Utd will only raise the going rate for CB's, Dunk for £40m for example.

Just buy us instead...

The ultimate tantrum of a player in the social media age. Or perhaps a "growing up" and realisation of what a waste of time it is..
-
I thought this was meant to have been amicably discussed in January, and at that point he wanted to go to play more.
-
Apart from West Ham of course.

That assumes RH is prepared to give him a place in the squad.

Looks a team set to flirt with a lower table struggle rather than building on last season. How many 65 minute games will we get from Ings before he's out injured?
-
Another of the Austin links gone then.

5) The most obvious one of all - run out of cash, and can't afford one 6)The one we wanted doesn't want to come/is awaiting other offers 7)Ross can't find one in the Black Box 8Les hadn't paid the meter on the Black Box

If you take Hoedt out of the equation for a minute, as that is a problem area all of its own, I think Carillo probably cost more than the others combined. Plus in his defence we had a couple of seasons from Forster where he appeared a reasoanble option and signing. As you say, personal opinion. Feel a bit sorry for Carillo though as he was embarrassingly out of his depth but did show a willingness and desire to play for us, and at least was making the effort. Can't say the same for several others over the years, Speedie, Quashie (after he lost interest), and going back twenty years, Mark Hughes just went through the motions.

Angus Gunn - 0 appearances for City, what was it £11m or £13m ? Although AG had a good season at Norwich in the Championship.

I saw Frank Saul having a good game once, v Newcastle in the 3rd Round FA Cup 1970, think he scored (possibly two). His biggest problems were having been a makeweight (as I recall) in the sale of Chivers, and deputising for the legend of Ron Davies. Two major obstacles to overcome in peoples minds. A long time ago but I don't recall the depths of despair on hearing his name read out as much as later misfits such as Paul Moody. Can't recall Cariillo scoring for us or having a game that left you feeling there's hope there and he'll come good in time. Credit for his lofted ball at WBA in the Cup but had to question if it was a misguided lob at goal. Dixon and Speedie, yes I grant you, monumental f^ckwit signings that even Les Reed would have been proud of.

Was that The Cowherds ? Interesting comparison in the apparent reputations of players from a different era. In the 1960's/70's/early 80's reputations were of being a p!sshead (Big Ron,Osgood, Steele etc) or a 'jack the lad'/womanisers (Osgood again), or headcases (Dennis springs to mind), nowadays in the era of social media they are seen as egotistical bellends displaying their wealth and lavish lifestyles. Part of the perception over 'attitudes' is down to the wealth and egos, coupled with indifferent displays which indicate a 'couldn't give two sh!ts' approach as they know they can simply have a sulk and move off somewhere else.

Doubt that the extra £10m would make Man U or Arsenal blink if they want the player and think he could do the business for them. Utd are likely to sell Pogba for in excess of £100m, it's almost loose change to them.
-
If its Arsenal, the CB/DM Krystian Bielik had good reviews last season at Charlton and in the U21's this summer. But agree £15 - £18m is underselling the player in Les Reed proportions.
-
This is a club who are supposedly operating a meagre transfer budget this summer.
-
Not too bothered about him going, trust Ralph to identify a decent replacement, but should be looking for a minimum of £25m (plus a % add on).
-
They probably see him as 'Pogba-lite'. THat is one egotistical bellend for another.
-
or two-thirds of a Webster, at Bristol City's current valuation.
-
Clearly keen to get rid then. I'd have hoped we'd have looked for £20-25m given the current market although he hasn't shown a great deal to justify it. I suspect this might be similar to the Fonte situation, linked with big clubs but eventually accepting a move to West Ham or Palace.

Arsenal also mentioned. https://metro.co.uk/2019/07/08/man-united-arsenal-submit-enquiries-sign-southampton-midfielder-mario-lemina-10134993/
