We were always going to lose again at some point the unbeaten in the league wasn’t going to last. Best get it out of the system early. Hopefully it dismissed any complacency and underlines to Tonda, Spors and Dragan the need for reinforcements. Proper ones, not Youth Experience schemes from Man City, or another Archer. Tonda should be rattling their doors tonight for the CM, CF, and Anel. But as for todays fuck up, I think the Adkins “draw a blue line under it” comes to mind.

Agree that “minge” is a different class of insult to the more modern “wet wipe” and “melt”. “Melt” just seems Danny Dyer/Harry Enfield sketch type of word. ”Minge” probably shouldn’t be used in mixed company or more elevated circles. Which lessens its impact as a term of abuse to some degree. That’s my theory anyway.

Any agreement to release him, if he wants to go, should be to the EPL or abroad. Not a Championship rival.

As you’ve said several times it’s just a continual recycling of the same story, often with someone adding their own twist on it. This bloke saying Saints have the edge in the race, whereas someone else’s take is that he prefers a return to Sheffield. (Also saw someone saying it was a done deal for Sheff Utd!). Whilst Muamba looks quite a handful for defences, both strong and quick - and potential - you wonder if we’ve left ourselves a little ‘short’ in this position with his height and perhaps relative inexperience. The Serbian bloke featured here is a lot closer to the Ross replacement in his profile. Wonder if it was a bid to buy, or loan with option.

What exactly would he bring? I don’t know much about him but he seems to be talked about a fair bit in the last couple of days. Strange how it goes, a few weeks ago Josh Mulligan seemed to be the ‘must have’ linked with several clubs. But still at Hibs.

They’ve also signed the CB Phillips from Spurs for £7m. Must admit I hadn’t heard much about him but he was mentioned by a few on here. Middlesborough appear to have spent quite well from the sale of Hackney, and their unexpected windfall from Rogers. Am hoping we do the same from the sale of Charles (on a MF and CF), unless of course we’ve already partly spent it on Peretz and Larin.

I had no recollection of his performance against us last year. For me their stand out player - apart from the GK - was the winger Thomas. On looking up the match I see he was sent off for two yellow cards. The second described on the Saints website as for simulation. Don’t think that’s the sort of performance we need.
