Christ !! it must be an age thing ! (Am getting worried).

Felt sorry for Seaborne, as he'd only began to get a regular starting place when he had ended up in hospital after the attack in town. By the time he recovered I think we were in the Premier League so had moved on. A bit like Lee Barnard, I always felt he could have cut in the Championship but both careers went backwards from us after L1.

Yes - http://www.exeterexpressandecho.co.uk/lloyd-james-need-know-exeter-city-s-new-signing/story-29320658-detail/story.html Bit of a Saints contingent there really, Tisdale, Oakley, Holmes , James, and until recently Butterworth.

Not at all bad from a player who threw an almighty strop vowing not to play for the national team again a few months ago.

Impressive numbers to be fair.

.. or thats his goal for October done and we won't see another one for a few more games yet

I remember the Port Vale Cup game (in 1994 was it ?, certainly not the 1933 one), it was bloody cold, the match was typically poor from Saints as we'd come to expect at the time. The most memorable thing was the red card demonstration, and then a protest in the car park afterwards attended by an assortment of fans from the yobs to grey haired senior citizens. Branfoot was sacked prior to the replay as Chatterley took charge of the team for that match.

Okay, I realise that was just a few 'off the top of your head' , but I suspect the Church was built before their ground.
-
Wonder if Koeman is as unimpressed with our U21's as he is with his own who lost 2-1 at Cheltenham last night. Still its a bit unfair on their youngsters having to burden the weight of expectation at a club who invented the dugouts.

Trying his best to avoid a call up into the shambles that England have become.

Another link to the Fonte saga featured in the BBC Gossip column today: https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/1893129/manchester-united-transfer-news-jose-fonte-still-wanted-by-jose-mourinho-but-boss-must-sell-before-he-can-buy/ It does seems there's a bit more mileage in this story yet.

I remember that.

Without a shadow of a doubt. Just can't see him wanting to come back though.

In the late 1980's/early 1990's there was a ref, Gerald Ashby from Worcester who we had a particularly good record with including an injury time penalty against Newcastle that Ruddock scored from in an important bottom of the table game at The Dell. Someone from Midland Saints is said to have had a polite word with him about this. Next time he refereed a Saints game we lost.

Is this any great surprise ? It isn't long ago that Fat Sam was suspected as not being far behind 'arry, in the 'brown envelope' school of management.
-
Neither did Sean St Ledger. Or Frederico Arias, or whatever his name was. Do you think we missed out ?
-
A pretty p!ss poor attempt to emulate The True Geordie. Or perhaps it was an audition for Eastenders. Did slate Sullivan for his comments about Austin, and interestingly he thought Redmond was MOTM.
-
Don't you feel sorry for them not getting used to their new - heavily subsidised - stadium ? Perhaps we've still got the number of the white witch who can help them lift the curse.

Fry ups all round next week at some salmonella express on Southsea sea front it is then.
-
In the early 90's it was referred to as "doing a Southampton". Sheffield Utd used to be good at the last ditch finding form as well. Must be a 'red and white stripe' thing.
-
This would seem more likely, and of the two I suspect Spurs may have too many midfield options already to need him. Of all the players to have left though he is certainly one I'd love back at Saints.Probably not going to happen though.
-
Strange though because at Feyenoord he was credited with bringing a good crop of youngsters through and giving them their chance.
-
... both walking away into a career ending in oblivion really. Although Mills did look a decent prospect for a couple of years to be fair to him, but never reaching the heights he was meant to be destined for.
-
But we bought Redmond, he's a striker.* *according to Claude. No, you're right. Enough people on here said it, how and why this glaring need was overlooked by Les & Co I don't know.
