  1. its the old adage, "you're only as good* as your last game". or sh!t in a few cases.
  2. How long is McCarthy out for ?
  3. According to the BBC stats: 59% possession 9 corners 17 shots (only 3 on target - pathetic) Inevitably - 0 f'kin goals
  4. All too common though just to write it off as an uncharacteristic 'blip'.
  5. Was probably considered a legitimate form of negotiating an 'out of court settlement' at the time though . A stronger case to argue over complicity is if the known or suspected offender was left in place to re-offend.
  6. For those of us living out of the region then can you offer any updates of anything new ?
  7. Or perhaps Puel is our best manager in being able to utilise the squad.
  8. Interesting points in Lighthouse's list but Liverpool seem pretty consistent under Klopp whereas you don't really know if the Mancs will gel on the day. Hull in the final perhaps then.
  9. Nivea possibly out with period pains. Has to change at some stage then.
  10. Expect the Van Dyke, McQueen, Sims, Hojberg, Foster, Yoshida, (... or insert any other of what looks like a first team player) to Liverpool stories to escalate in the media before the first leg now.

    Ox Walcott

No animosity towards either. They left in a different set of circumstances, and as I recall left with a fair degree of dignity. Unlike Nivea and Lovren.
  12. Probably a fair swap.
  13. My memory is an evening game at home to Spurs fairly early in the season. If it was that game then not really spectacular by the incredible standards he set later in his career, other than he seemed to do everything with ease, and glided around the pitch and certainly looked comfortable at that level. The only 'stand out' moment I recall was bringing an awkward ball down from waist height that appeared to be going behind him and controlling it, whereas most of our lot at the time might have made a hash of it, or watched the ball sail out for a throw.
  14. Not if those two are still on the pitch to take them though...
  15. Is McCarthy even fit ?
  16. Perhaps easy to suggest after an initial good showing, but he needs to be handled carefully and not thrown in too much too soon. Such immediate elevation to the front line didn't work with Hesketh did it ? Having said that the names Sims has been mentioned a few times in the past as a special talent.
  17. Possibly with a new manager as well...
  18. This is Puel utilising squad rotation at its best though. We have a weekend (or should that be weakened?)XI he puts out, and they're unable to score a goal between them. Then for Europa League and EFL Cup matches he has another XI who are equally as good at putting a chance away.
  19. Austin is the only natural goalscorer we have, and if his goals dry up, as they seem to have, or he is injured then we're in the sh!t. It was glaringly obvious before a ball was kicked this season that we'd struggle for goals but we sign Redmond to play as a striker.
  20. This is the bloke who upset his own supporters. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37672984 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3841446/Inter-fans-call-Mauro-Icardi-vile-piece-s-cheer-striker-s-penalty-miss-defeat-Cagliari.html Haven't we learnt about bringing in South Americans from Serie A ?
  21. From that it appears the 'inbreds' at Burnley are on a par with the Skates. One comment from a Blackburn fan, that was not entering into a slanging match, that caught my eye was this: He overlooks that apart from Austin none of them can hit a barn door regularly. Personally I think a full season at Blackburn will be more beneficial for him than coming back.
  22. But if it were a loan, where is the great risk ? Just tie it up i such a way that Liverpool subsidise his wages, and in the event of injury he's shipped back there. From their angle he might be useful in us taking points off of their rivals at the top end of the table. Of course if he performs here,he'll no doubt be looking elsewhere in the summer, but we do seem to be prepared to rebuild year on year so that is not a catastrophe. But, can'tseeithappening#
  23. Possibly our best selection of individuals but I'd be a bit concerned that any of the three in bold could easily 'go missing' so I'm not sure we'll see the luxury of all three starting together. More likely two of them, and the third as an "impact sub".
  24. .. and straight into the Europa League.
  25. As I commented on this earlier:
