  1. That's my take on it as well. I don't blame Cork for leaving, and understand his reasons for doing so. It is all too simplistic to say it was his decision and outside the club's control. It was clear to all that Morgan would want out this summer after his publicised strop last August. Had Cork been offered a contract at the same time as Fonte, then we might have had a chance of securing him, to leave it dangling for months as we did was enough to convince him his future was best elsewhere. Poor handling of the situation in my view.
  2. You're not seriously suggesting the nice Mr Levy or anyone working at Tottenham would use deceiptful and underhand measures by 'leaking' something to London journalist contacts are you ?
  3. I don't believe the article, other than its an extension of the 'known' liklihood that VW won't sign a new contract and the club are likely to sell next summer. As for the comment "not appreciated", that is probably b0ll0cks, other than perhaps in VW's mind he thinks he should be lauded and held in the same esteem as Schneiderlin. Except he's nowhere near the player MS was for us last season, having been with us for the previous 6 seasons to increase the adulation from supporters. Without MS alongside him I agree, but really this should be his opportunity to take over. Remember Alan Ball's analogy, when the flag bearer goes down, its up to somebody else to pick it up and march with it. But of course the modern player - and their agent - just wants to f^ck off for another mega pay day somewhere else.
  4. Agree the French ref did have a good game, playing the advantage a few times, and on one occasion not forgetting to book someone after he'd waived play on.
  5. No great surprise to be honest. But the profiling amuses me a bit. The prospect of the 'panel' including Les Reed opening a dossier on him, and asking what the profilers have come up with. "Well. his name is Johnjo ffs.." , followed by a pause for thought and then a Katie Hopkins type response of "well I certainly wouldn't want my kids playing with him..". "Next ?".
  6. RK has just had an operation, and prowling the technical area on crutches might be beyond him. At least for now that is something I'm contenting myself with.
  7. No thanks. Club policy should be to avoid any dealings or dialogue with spurs.

  9. Phil Boyer also went to Man City from our era as well.
  10. If we wanted the player I expect we'd spend big to get him, we spent £12m on Long for Christ sake.
  11. Plus the possibility, that recent performances by VVD may not be up to his usual standard. As we said about Clyne after he was linked with Man Utd last season, his performances drppoed off. Perhaps in the case of VVD he is currently going through the motions, to use a regular phrase from on here perhaps "his head is elswhere" already.
  12. We might get by with a hamstring as she can prop herself against the tea trolley and hobble. Our luck would be a broken wrist, in which case people will end up having to get their own...
  13. She'll probably be alright until October, then the tea will be a lot weaker for a few weeks before she goes missing for a few months and it'll never be the same when she returns after Christmas.
  14. Bristol City bidding £9m for a player with only one season of Championship experience http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33974678 When you see that, its not surprising WBA reject £15m for Berahino. But it also makes you think how ridiculous it has become.
  15. The internal face of the walls are part of the building. Would you regard the ceiling as part of your "contents" ?
  16. As Clasie currently has in leg in plaster, I would hope he is. Apart from that, are you really suggesting he is a better option than a fit Clasie, who has played at the WC finals for Holland ?
  17. Mods, Paypal informs me that subscription paid. Can you please reinstate full service as currently reduced to three posts, and p!ssed off with adverts appearing. Sorry to clutter the board, but PM's not currently available (If this looks familiar it probably is, as previous problems in earlier years)
  18. Didn't take long for the tabloids (Sun according to this article) to either dig up some dirt, or just lower the tone of the issue with some sleazy allegations, http://www.givemesport.com/615442-eva-carneiro-boasted-about-relationship-with-chelsea-star Perhaps the club using press contacts to deflect the public opinion, or further erode her position ?
  19. Lets hope we've still got that to offer him by the time Celtic's fate in the CL is known. As someone else said above, I expect we are exploring other options in case of an injury to VVD, or someone making a last minute 'better offer'.
  20. Perhaps RK will start doing interviews from the window of his Range Rover outside his house from now on as well.
  21. Piskie
  22. Despite the suggestion RK is not looking at alternatives to VVD, I hope Reed & the Black Box are still casting their net for a CB in case VVD does decide to stay at Celtic, or has an injury of the 89th minute Second Leg v Malmo. There may of course been an agreement behind the scenes, but then Toby was believed to have given his word he'd stay.
  23. Given Celtics track record of turning good players into £10m ones (Wanyama & VVD for two) perhaps we should just look to find out the proposed replacement and hijack the bid. Cut out the middleman as it were.
  24. But he doesn't make it any cleaere that VVD will come to Saints, just that he's a good player.
  25. Heard a reported comment on 5Live that Martinez said Everton will spend big between now and the close of the transfer window.
