I agree about the emphasis on Barcelona but if this does not appear likely to be availavble in 2017 then I suspect he might extend to 2018 as there is always a major managerial shuffle after the World Cup. You never know people might even be clamouring for him to weplace Woy, if he lasts that long (not that I expect RK to be interested in the job).

Actually, its quite good to see that photograph of our owner chatting to a key player. If he does go to Man U I don't suppose the Glazers will tell him apart from a member of the groundstaff. Would be good if Morgan and others reflected on this, but of course they won't.

He's the Curacaon (?) Paul Telfer perhaps. Or possibly the new Guly as a fans 'favourite' if he lives down to some fans expectations of him.

..or Jonno Quick even #4 - no, its an opinion shared by most on here

I'm surprised an agent would be happy for his player to become embroiled in this sort of mess, knowing the complications that may arise from future transfers as these deals are never straightforward.

But is the player obliged to sign and stay at the club at the end of the first year "loan" ?

We need some more experienced players to help the progress of the younger ones. Put a MF of JWP, Reed inthe side week in/week out , it might rapidly destroy their confidence. May not be the fashionable view of the Saints model, but I remember seeing Alan Ball developing the youngsters around him. We can still 'develop' the young incomers, but probably better and quicker with some experience around them.

We're probably waiting on the Toby issue to be resolved before starting that search. If he does go elsewhere, then no doubt the Van Dyke and Vlaar rumours will all start up again.

Targett & Ward-Prowse named in England U21 Euro squad
Badger replied to S-Clarke's topic in The Saints
By the very nature of the tournament, all sides competing are young, but the krauts routinely play a young team with a winning mentality which they then take into senior squads. By contrast we turn up with some massaged egos, give some spluttering performances with no real game plan, and fall short of the standard required, and take this attitude and acceptance of failure into the senior squad. So the wait goes on... -
Targett & Ward-Prowse named in England U21 Euro squad
Badger replied to S-Clarke's topic in The Saints
It will now be quite amusing if England Women progress in their World Cup- although winning it may be too much to ask - just top show the blokes teams how it should be done. -
They've signed Joey ?

So, a choice of Portuguese (working in the NHS), and other working Europeans who might contribute something , or the uncontrollable rabble seen at Calais trying to enter the UK illegally and will probably contribute the square root of f^ck all, becoming a drain on resources. Not sure many would follow the logic of your choice here.

Not to mention no qualms about £29m on another striker ...

Targett & Ward-Prowse named in England U21 Euro squad
Badger replied to S-Clarke's topic in The Saints
They've followed the England template here, talk big about winning it before it starts, then underperform, elimination and come home early. This should stand them in good stead for future tournaments at senior level in years to come. And lets not forget Southgate is often suggested as being fast tracked into the England job. -
I wonder if this 'leak' is just Saints being used as a 'stalking horse' here, to try and hasten the bidding.

Gareth Bale wants to come back as well, and will pay his own transfer fee. In fact he is so embarrased by the f^ck up following his departure, he will personally reimburse the club the remainder of the fee that Lowe negotiated away, and also compensate us for wages paid to Tommy Forecast. All of which was from the wife of an impeccable source at the club.
