  1. Looking rather hollow now isn't it ?
  2. Thought he was coming back as a saviour buying us ? What happened to that little theory ?
  3. very poor. Talk your way out of this one, Ralph, Les, whoever.. Forget Ronald Koeman as the next manager, Ronald Macf^ckingDonald will be more appropriate.
  4. IF, but the figure of £4m is being touted. Reading that though, it brought back memories of selling Shearer, and the "Dixon and Speedie will get more goals..."
  5. Despite which we were always a better team with him in the side. Otherwise agree with you.
  6. Fair point. And of course, MP came with no track record to speak of. Who do you think might have promised more over the next 3 seasons ?
  7. Yes, for now. At least until after the WC. This move is just damaging the morale of everyone involved with the club, other players in particular. I wonder if this move by Liverpool is designed to influence Lallana in seeking to join his team mate.
  8. Most of which looks pretty uninspiring, or just ridiculous. Koeman and Laudrup have the names, but their magerial careers are fairly chequered. Can't see Benitez or de Boer being remotely interested, especially with us shoving our better players out of the door.
  9. article on Garde: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/european/the-next-arsenal-manager-garde-giving-impressive-audition-at-lyons-2342617.html The article dates from August 2011 so no idea how his career has fared since then.
  10. ..but Ralph said...
  11. I'd be surprised if he left Derby so soon.
  12. What happened to 'peoples champion' Cortese, coming back to buy the club ?
  13. Insult to injury.
  14. What on earth is his objection ? Oh, along the lines of "I don't need no twitter to bully no one , I just batters Ulrika myself..."
  15. FDB - probably the biggest name we might lure although only a small chance , Benitez - big name but not sure if he would fit the club and academy bringing players through role. Jorge Bloke - nah, b0ll0cks, don't see the attraction Yakin & Tuchel - seem to read all the right things about them, Tuchel looks a good tactician etc but wonder if he'd have the "presence" to win over the players quickly, this is where Yakin probably has the advantage. Laudrup - no ffs, theres a reason why he is out of Swansea. Rosler - unproven, no better than NA Adkins - I would not get upset if he returned but water under bridges etc, might not be right for either party. Poyet - mildly acceptable Moyes - 13 years too late but ahead of Lambert or Mackay
  16. Dave Jones.
  17. But would he 'translate' into the English game ? I don't mean language as I've read he speaks English, but putting it another way, how would the squad receive him ? That will be an acid test for any incoming manager.
  18. Tell Levy.
  19. Bit unfair, unless you know - heard - differently.
  20. For me the realistic shortlist would be: Domestic based managers: Adkins Howe Imports: Yakin Tuchel. All of which are gambles for one reason or another. Moyes is the boring option, 13 years too late.
  21. Back to the question: I think we would have made steady progress with NA, rather than a few quick leaps forward, followed by a sudden collapse. So, for me, over a longer period I think we'd have been better off keeping NA.
  22. Problem being if they are intrinsically linked of course.
  23. I'd prefer Adkins to the other three you mention.
  24. But sensibly, Ralph presumably is not going to be there day in day out, so we needed an experienced hand as 'operations director'. Maybe they thought Reed the man for the football side of things, although it did not take RK long to talk up bringing in a "sporting director". Not that this detracts from your own point of course.
  25. Agree. B0ll0cks to them.
